      Thanks, glad it helped 😊. You need to complete your Btech which is equivalent to a degree. Once you have your Btech, you can do BCTA at UJ for a year, which is a bridging course. Then the following year do PGDA/Accounting Honors which will qualify you for board exams and articles

      Yes it does have an impact, in the same way it would have an impact when assessing someone for a key role in Finance sector.

      It's a pleasure. You need to write the Certified Internal Auditor exams. Google CIA exams and you will find all the relevant info.

      I definitely support the CFA route for you. Towards the completion of your degree apply for graduate programs in the finance sector while pursuing CFA (as CFA is board exams, you can do it whilst working) and you should be good to go😄

      You choose it after articles. Thus us because you can do your articles in Audit but choose to specialize in Banking there after. That was the case with me.

      For CIMA exams you need a BCom degree. It can be any BCom degree, then you write CIMA board exams thereafter to qualify as Management Accountant

      You can also do the Advanced Diploma in Financial Management/Finance, I'm not too sure what exactly it's called but yes, you do it after acquiring your Diploma In Accountancy. My mentor studied the Diploma in Accountancy with UJ and went on to do the Advanced Diploma in Financial Management/Finance after she completed the NQF6 Diploma in Accountancy. And I know she's on the CIMA path

      No. After your auditing articles you can choose to stay in Auditing or follow the other options. So you have the various options open to you 😄

      Hi. Not every auditor is a Chartered Accountant (some just studied Auditing) but all Chartered Accountants can be auditors (CAs specialize in Accounting, Finance, Audit and Tax). You can also watch my video titled "What do CAs actually do" for further insight

      Do the one that leads to the CA (SA) route 😀 Accountanting background doesn't matter, in first year you cover Accounting from foundation level so everyone ends up at par in terms of knowledge

      Hi there. My degree was 3 years and it was the CA stream. It totally depends on which university you are in and how they differentiate the CA and non CA stream degrees. But it is not just based on the number of years. A normal CA stream degree is 3 years. 4 years is usually for the extended BCom degree. With that says, I advise you enquire from your university commerce faculty, read the prospectus online etc to understand the degree that you are studying and how to ensure you are on the CA stream.

      It depends with the university,
      please do confirm with them. I studied BCom Accounting and there was also Bus. Sci Accounting option and these both led to the honors/pgda and CA route in UCT. Universities rules differ.

      Hi Moloko, @ UJ, you can do your BCom Accounting Degree for 3 years. And thereafter, do a Bridging Course (BCTA) for one year. BCTA covers Bachelor of Accounting (bachelor of Accounting Science) 3rd year content. Once you have done your BCTA , you can enrol for PGDAS/Honours (CA) [CTA]

      Lol you can definitely switch and specialise in a different area at any point as a CA, however as you won't have work experience per se in new you are more likely to start at the CA entry entry level.

      Degree in Mancosa is not SAICA accredited. After completing it you can do BCTA at UJ for a year, which is a bridging course. Then the following year do PGDA/Accounting Honors which will qualify you for board exams and articles

      3 year degree, 1 year honours degree, 3 years of training articles of which during the 3 years you write 2 qualifying board exams. So 7 years in total.

      No, as explained in the video. You have to do a degree, honors, 3 years of articles and pass two board exams during articles to become a CA. A PhD won't make you a CA
