I leased a 2019 XC40 the first month it was available… best car I have ever had in 40 years. So good I replaced it with a 2021 XC40. That was so superb, I replaced that with my current 2023 XC40. I so want to change to something else in 25 or 26 but for the life of me cannot find anything in it’s class that exceeds it’s safety features, style, power or ride. At age 74, I am destined for number four😊
As a 2025 Volvo XC40 B5 driver, I must admit, this is a little rocket when she needs to be and a life saver on fuel when you're feeling polite. The App connection and remote start for winter mornings or the remote Air purification in summer is perfect. The only gripe I have with my car so far is the windscreen wiper fluid distribution.
Just took delivery of one a week ago .. absolutely love it xc40 plus dark B4 in fjord blue as Ty says loads of Easter eggs throughout vehicle mines a motorbility vehicle and I was amazed at all the features in a mid range vehicle..great smooth drive loads of room I’m 6-2 in tall ,rear seat heating too.. folding boot floor that gives shopping hooks
Another great review! I still kinda miss my old 2005 XC90 T5. Had it many many years, entirely breakdown free. We now have a 2013 XC60 T6 in the family fleet ((6 vehicles on the road, 3 sitting on standby or in progress of restoration) , now sitting at about 165k miles and, sadly, sooooooo NOT breakdown free. -_- It has spent I think now 5 trips on the back of a tow truck. ALL of those trips.........were electrical system related. BUt overall, man, when it works it is one fantastic driving vehicle.
In the Ultra package, does it have the option for regular cruise and adaptive cruise? I mostly hate adaptive cruise as I drive a lot of farm country roads and adaptive is annoying and sometimes dangerous. Like the size but holy smokes by the time you get done with the Ultra it looks like you can easily pay $55k or more. Seems awful expensive for a small car.
By big changes, you mean ZERO changes. I have a 2023 XC40 and everything about it is EXACTLY the same. Volvo made all of the latest changes in 2023. I love my XC40, only complaint is that there is no sport mode.
Think you should do a video of what they took away that they should have kept like lightning changes the dash colour scheme should have kept roof colour change looks way better in the 2 different colours .and the app side that no one talks about..ect that you can track the car find it ..start it ..plus open and close doors with Alexa open the car remotely from the app .from any where ..but great video.the black edition looks cool ..the core wheels are so bad ..really basic alloys. horrible cloth seats ..but I guess that's why it's core .but as always it's a beautiful car to drive
Unfortunate that Volvo did not introduce new display to this model as it did in several others - this now looks very dated, and of course lacks the added functionality that came with those other upgrades.
Moonroof drain plugged with debris. Tire well filled with water. No drain hole there. $2,500 repair bill, including $1,500 to remove interior trim and dry it out. Communications module almost fried. They say to not park it near trees or on surfaces that aren't flat. Multiple instances reported going back 5 years. Not covered by extended warranty. VERY disappointed. Is very clearly a design fault. Volvo's are notorious for it.
I drove a rental XC40 350 miles today and I will put another 350 on it tomorrow. Overall it's a nice little car. It is peppy and comfortable for the most part. The infotainment was not very intuitive, but didn't take long to figure out. I really liked that the map shows up on the instrument cluster. There was more wind and road noise than I was expecting for a premium car. The triangle panels on the rear door windows makes the blind spot larger. I'm surprised such a safety focused automaker would have added them since they don't seem to serve any purpose. That said, the blind spot lights on the side mirrors were big and bright. On my personal truck they're sometimes hard to see. My rental doesn't have all the features of the one in the video. It didn't have adaptive cruise control and the lane keep is annoying. The lane keep is annoying in every car I've driven that has this feature and I always disable.

Im driving a rental of this model now. Its a sweet ride. Now considering purchasing one..Thanks
XC40s for the North American market are built in Ghent, Belgium, not in Sweden.

Iam considering this car, but they say the mpg is rubbish & it guzzles the fuel 🤔 what mpg are you getting please
@@janettinkler2204I just purchased mine and I'm getting 17.5 mpg in my first 110 miles of city driving. In fact, it hasn't been on the highway yet.
@ I’m at almost 40 mpg …give one a go I’m impressed
This is the exact model I want in sage green or silver but I’m in the UK so it’s the 197bhp b4.

Thanks for the review! Just bought one this week. So far so good.

Greetings from Canada thanks for sharing this video
So by "BIG changes" you mean "minor detail changes". Got it.
half way in the video and thinking I need to google what are these changes...
Click bait

Not seeing it listed as a top pick on IIHS - can you post a link perhaps?
It’s on there.
Decent little suv, especially for those of us on a tight budget.
What was the BIG changes?
nothing.. just a click bait.. it is the same car since 2018
Does the vehicle have double pane windows?
Does Plus still not have the Adaptive Cruise Control? Thank you
Yes
Have 23 Ultimate polestar xc40, minor complaint a bit noisy interior, maybe the Pano sunroof doesnt help with sound deadening.

Can you do a review on a 2025 Buick Envista
I'll keep trying. Have yet to find a Buick dealer that understands the concept of what I do unfortunately 😏

Yo! Gold pony. You rock! 🎉
Great review.
Great review bro & I think I consider buy this.
I hope that they have solved the low voltage problem in the Hybrid engine.

Very true. Display looks like an old portable tv. They could have put some nice big display screen to match the luxury of the vehicle.
Has anyone got one of these 🤔 what MPG are they getting, because they say it’s a fuel guzzler??
If only Mazda would do this engine setup with the new 8 speed. I have my XC 40 and I love it so much better. I had enough with Mazda slow speed
Love the wheels
trim?

That's terrible! The drain plug issue isn't unique to Volvo as my Nissan had the same problem twice. Water was dripping in! Thanks for sharing.
Don’t get moonroof thrn?
@@fsjayI took my chances. It's such a big nice moon roof!
@@fsjay It isn't an option.
Why does this car have 2 (P) park buttons how does that work?
One is for Park position in transmission. The other is the Parking Brake which toggles on and off.
@@kmac8854 just use main park button

Do you Americans feel that this is expensive for a car like that, or are you prepared to pay that kind of money?
Seems kinda cheap to me.
I was quoted a lease payment of $459 with $3,250 down, 36/10. That’s in Bedford, NY.
So much changes 😂
Please stop saying ‘stinking cool’. It was used so many times it was most distracting.
Hybrid but you have to put Premium in it. HAHAH
Mine runs fine on E10 so don’t worry
Please stop saying”Pretty stinkin’’ cool” and “ Let’s go ahead and….”
It’s truly annoying. Thanks.
Totally agree...made me want to stop the video. Stinkin' cool, not cool at all.
It's incredibly long in the tooth and dated. And the fuel economy is poor, especially for a hybrid. Its really no longer competitive.
You are talking way too fast for this Southerner. Can't catch half of what you're saying, slow down your speech.
To much bla bla
It's slow 🐌 😒
Waste of time. Nothing new
