I absolutely headcanon this, yeah. Vergil lost because he was trying to, as someone who'd only ever used a katana, swing around a massive greatsword. Especially since Force Edge is literally just a normal sword (albeit incredibly durable due to being a wacky demon weapon) without the amulets turning it into the Sparda. Vergil was relying on a normal sword he had zero experience with to beat his brother instead of the ultra-powerful magic katana that severs space.
@@Its_Shio I honestly think that theory doesn't really work. Vergil literally held Rebellion (an even BIGGER sword) and showed that he knew his shit with a greatsword, and Dante with a kitana. I don't think this defeat has anything to do with experience, or lack thereof, but of exhaustion, frustration, and honestly being tired of Dante's shit. That and Dante has gotten a lot stronger and has a lot more tricks up his sleeve than when they first went at it. Compare that with Vergil being pretty much the same, but with a new weapon, and you can't really be surprised that he lost to a man that can slow down/stop time and can literally make two of himself.
Honestly you compare it to the others and you really wonder who wrote this? It's clearly extraordinary writing than what's normal for the DMC franchise. Flys over the rest. Boy oh boy did this game get you Motivated!
Yeah last time i checked Sparda wasn't an evil bastard trying to sacrifice humanity multiple times to achieve power, and the reason he wants to achieve power is to protect the ones he cares about but he cares about no one besides dante who he tries to kill on his goal to achieve said power
So...after this vergil returns as a evil knight on dmc 1? I don t know all the lore but i think dmc 1 is the sequel of dmc 3 so...i guess he just became a serve of mundus and lost his mind
dmc 1 is a sequel of dmc3 yes, also there is an extra cutscene in the end of Dmc3 which shows Vergil meeting Mundus in the demon realm and ready to fight, but when he takes out his sword he throws the carrier away a slight indication that he knows he will not survive the fight, he lost and mundus took control over him and made him the "evil knight" Nelo Angelo
The extra scene after the credits show that Mundus quickly found Vergil after his fall. Vergil prepared to fight the Dark Prince believing that if Sparda could do it, then Vergil could, running at Mundus to fight him... except that he threw away his sword's sheath, which is apparently a symbolic way of saying "i'll go down, but not without a fight." Vergil got stomped HARD by Mundus and was forced into servitude, leading to DMC1.
A big part of the reason this is so impactful, and one thing I don’t see anyone mentioning is this; This is the only time in DMC 3 Vergil acknowledges Dante as a son of Sprada.
The way Vergil swing the sword feel like he purposely miss Dante, and when he drop the sword and the amulet, he first reach to his mother's amulet instead of his father's sword. Vergil was relying on a normal sword he had zero experience with to beat his brother instead of the ultra-powerful magic katana that severs space.
@@Its_Shio
I honestly think that theory doesn't really work.
Dmc3 is a masterpiece. Best of all dmc. Change my mind
Dante: ...what am I dead weight to you?
Nero, in his mother's stomach: {...THAT BASTARD CALLED ME DEADWEIGHT!}

damn it vergil...
Vergil just wants to be a powerful savior like his father, but he just doesn't go about it properly. He's very misguided.
Best storyline , fav dmc3 and graphics dmc5 🥵
Honestly you compare it to the others and you really wonder who wrote this? It's clearly extraordinary writing than what's normal for the DMC franchise. Flys over the rest. Boy oh boy did this game get you Motivated!
Vergil: It belongs to a son of sparda l.
Dante: I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that. Proceeds to leave the sword with trish
Vergil always cut dante's hand, what did that hand do to him? 💀
Ive played a lot of games, the atmosphere, the area, the boss fight, the vibes of this final mission is always my top 1
Graphics really have come a long way
aye and so has dante
Driver 2 on PS1 was top realistic graphics back then
Prefer the older graphics tbh...
Can anyone explain to me how Vergil wasn't bisected?
Regen
Don't worry Vergil. You may think you can't live up to Spardas legacy but your sons getting ready to break that power barrier all on his own.
New fans will never know how long these two wore really separated for 😤💯gotta love DMC5 happy ending 🙌🏽💪🏽
Facts!
VA for Vergil is too good
The legendary Dan Southworth
Yeah last time i checked Sparda wasn't an evil bastard trying to sacrifice humanity multiple times to achieve power, and the reason he wants to achieve power is to protect the ones he cares about but he cares about no one besides dante who he tries to kill on his goal to achieve said power
this is such a badass and dramatic way of saying "Dad said it's miiiiiine"
Any Egyptians seeing this comment I guess I can sum this story in two words علوقيه ناشفه
I think red has good and bad things and blue also has good and bad thins but I am not red and blue but if I like between them I choose blue
god the huge eye looks terrible in the HD edition
Boys pain.
Vergil prepared to fight the Dark Prince believing that if Sparda could do it, then Vergil could, running at Mundus to fight him... except that he threw away his sword's sheath, which is apparently a symbolic way of saying "i'll go down, but not without a fight."
Vergil got stomped HARD by Mundus and was forced into servitude, leading to DMC1.

Boys Pain:
1:15 pure sad silent
"Dad says it's my turn on the Sparda"
Screaming "KINO!!!!" in the middle of the night while watching this, and waking up all my neighbours.
@ 0:33 he throws the sword ...
@Pied understandable. I meant Virgil wouldn't end his bloodline..
It belongs to a son of POWER.
I have never accepted this, faster brother swings sword slower
Well to be fair he’s not using his katana
A big part of the reason this is so impactful, and one thing I don’t see anyone mentioning is this;
This is the only time in DMC 3 Vergil acknowledges Dante as a son of Sprada.
Vergil:it belongs to the son of sparda
Dante: And what am I to him?
Vergil:A Roach
And that was vergil first dying word before he turn into Nelo Angelo:v
thank you, you have my favorite moment
Vergil: (swing the sword from up to target his head)
Dante: (ducks and swing it like a baseball)
"We are the Son's of Sparda" is another favorite from this fight.
and to think the voice actor off vergil voiced a guantum ranger god life is weird
Going out like a Bauss
Actually, It Belongs In A Museum!
Why is Vergil so transphobic?

every damn time he mentions his father he always says "our" while dante says "my mother's" or something of the sort

Vergil lost this fight because he used an inferior longsword when he had Yamato with him
In the fight he uses them both in combo tho
@@MILDMONSTER1234 I'm talking about the cutscene after the fight where he uses force edge instead of yamato
