Having both been a USAF crew chief and now living under the specter of cancer, my hat is off to the Brits! I spent 3.5yrs at Upper Heyford as a caretaker of the F-111E . If we had done this in the 70's, well it would not be pretty lol. God Bless all the military of the world, no matter the job they do.
I remember going on a school trip up to Upper Heyford to see the F111s in the early 80's. Class teacher's brother worked there. Never forget sitting alongside the runway as an F-111 took off on full reheat. The windows on the bus almost shook out, girls screaming....fantastic!

My late brother spent 23 yrs in Royal Air Force aero systems operator at RAF Boulmer and at many places around Asia mostly, I showed him this and he said good on the station commander for Allowing this for charity God BLess the Royal Airforce.

I know only a minority of Americans have this weird chip on their shoulder and can't stand the thought of other countries doing interesting things that the USA hasn't done. I know the vast majority of Americans aren't like this but it really is only Americans who do this. Never known anyone from any other country do it. Weird.

US American here and a big fan of Brits. They were really fun fellow travelers during the year I studied in Germany and traveled around Europe a bit. The Irish guy who scaled a four story youth hostel wall to sneak in after breakfast was hilarious too. I let him in the 4th floor window. He was hungover, but climbed like Spiderman.

I’m just a reserve but from meeting regulars they’re great folks. No one is more aware of enjoying life and a laugh with their muckers, as they fully understand life is too short.
This is way too funny! When and where is this? I've been on deployments before with the Brits, but this is too cool! They are also the only ones I know of who will perform an engine change on an old Jaguar while wearing Bermuda shorts, flip-flops, and with a cooler of beer on the side.
Even the British military can have a laugh raising money for a good cause,and as you can see,it gives nothing but joy,and brings a smile to everyone,s faces.
The only thing that ages, is the music, this lads spirit is great, I don't think I ever marshalled a jet out like that lol. Can he still move like that I wonder lol?????
