OH MY GOD! it's not just about the fact that you are extremely intelligent but I also really admire how you designed your life to achieve what you want in life and worked so hard for it to come true. Even now, in your retirement, you are still working hard, pursuing your passion and keeping sharing knowledge and inspiring us. Thank you so much Professor❤

Tim, thanks for this great stories. Reminds me a lot of Lehmann's stories by Siegfried Lenz, "So schön war mein Markt." Really inspiring, if you keep this up, you will become a TH-cam star as well as a Polyglot star ;-)
Bloody hell, mate. When we met about 4 years ago, you totally stunned me and my girlfriend with your linguistic abilities. Now, in 2023 you continue to do it, due to the jobs you were able to land in your life. Amazing.

This story is like an adventure novel. An ordinary family man would be able to work in a hotel or at best earn money by translating. You have a fun life.
sir, only one thing I didnt understand much. You had worked in normal jobs and then how became a professor? dont need exam or study etc?? did you just apply?
Sorry, I couldn't explain everything in just one video. I studied at 8 universities and have a PhD. The universities were in the USA, Colombia, Switzerland, Poland, Japan, and Australia. Thus, I used a variety of languages for study purposes too.
I got to Japan after living in South America and Western & Eastern Europe. I clicked with the culture there and got a great job at KSU university later in life so wound up staying there for 42 years and became a Japanese citizen.
Oh, that is such a clickbait title! But I really appreciate your story. It sounds like it was not all about the Benjamins anyway, but the experiences and the people. I am fascinated by languages and love to learn about them, but my self-consciousness stops me from conversing in another language. Watching you makes me want to break through.
great i don't know how much i earned with learning languages .but i do know that i saved a lot of money by being able to read reviews in multiple languages and finding out that the products i was about to buy were bad or overpriced. and i also go to Germany often since everything is much cheaper in that country compared to my country .and no offence to Germans but most of them don't know a word of English or other languages so you really need to know german if you want to get stuff done over there without issues .sometimes i can find foreign language versions of movies and books for free or cheap too .

Yes, it is possible. Some non-native speakers do better than some natives There is no single representative of a native speaker. Clearly, there are differences in ability among natives
@@polyglotdreams Let me mention that I've searched Internet and can't find a business that makes made to order polyglot templates. I've been studying French Norwegian Chinese Vietnamese Tagalog Portuguese Spanish Russian Polish for a while. I've started making my own polyglot template with main words etc. However, since I do not use a computer, this will obviously take a long time. Thank you for asking.
@@polyglotdreams Again, Thanks for asking. I've decided to do it myself. The way that I want it organized. About 8,000 words per language for 8 or so languages should keep me busy for a few years. I just think that it is a missed opportunity that a polyglot chart/template business is not easily found in an Internet search. Again, Thank you for asking.
