That’s a nice funnel with the measuring marks on it! It’s nice feeling when you do it yourself and know the right amount is put back in! You’re lucky there is a dipstick on it. Many brands these days don’t have one which makes it harder to do.
Should have removed, cleaned the pan, and replaced the internal filter also. There is also a filter under the battery tray that is part of the CVT transmission.

Remember to replace the O ring on the block and make sure the new filter has its O ring. The second filter is in the pan. It’s just a screen mesh inside the filter you can usually just clean it with brake fluid and let it air dry and reuse. If you drop the pan you need a new gasket pan. P.S. Amsoil makes the best CVT fluid hands down. Last longer higher flash point and it improves MPG.
I am curious if this service has never been done on a Mitsubishi with over 100k on the transmission is it a must to replace that filter inside the pan. Ive been told just flushing the fluid will on a CVT trans mission with this many miles could have catastrophic failure, because all the metal shavings getting mixed into fresh fluid.
Nice video, where can I buy the type funnel you are using. Also I just bought a 2013 Outlander, what type OEM CVT fluid does it take? Is the J4 fluid the latest and best? thank you in advance
is your Outlander sport is CVT fluid? how your car performed? does your car works in that STP OEM oil? I think it should be branded oil from Mitsubishi that should be used...
@@billybob9154 CVT fluid stays cool because there is a CVT fluid cooler underneath the battery tray on Mitsubishis... if a fluid meets mitsubishis J1 or J4 spec then it's good.
I changed my oil 2015 mitsubishi sport and 4 quarts and a pint cvt fuild from oriely 2000 miles later it smells like it's burning once in a while the transmission oil I'm going to dealer tomorrow

Much appreciated
Thank you for the info 👍🏼
Next time you do the transmission oil change, it is very important that you change the two filters.
Thank for the 411
There’s only one filter on this car I believe
Nice done video.
Question, is there an exterior transmission fluid filter that has to be changed too?
@@gnipgnop-yn6ox no but I have been told there is a filter inside so once you drain the fluid drop the tank just might be good to get new gasket
In how many miles interval the oil was changed ?
Nice job!
Awesome!
Woa dude, you didn't change both filters; those need to be changed when you change the CVT transmission fluid.
thanks for this, is there a filter in the manual transmission under the pan as well?
Should have removed, cleaned the pan, and replaced the internal filter also. There is also a filter under the battery tray that is part of the CVT transmission.
Went to autozone for filter and it showed it not having one can you show where it is.
@@jasaulyeldell_jsqualley3125 it's inside the pan attached to underside of transmission held on by 4 bolts
@ thanks Ken for the follow up

They sell them at autozone and your fluid show state in the back of your owner's manual under specification
@@jasaulyeldell_jsqualley3125 Thank you and keep up the good job with informative videos.
Please mention how many quarts
It depends on how many you pull out of your particular vehicle

The best cvt fluid for any cvt is Amsoil cvt fluid. Nothing else comes close and it doesn’t void the warranty.
@@billybob9154 it's all the same
@@drivewayhero amsoil is superior to them all. Has a much higher flash point. Keeps the cvt cool and has a great additive package.
Try it

You can get amsoil data sheets on all their products.
Not one other manufacture will do this.
Why ?
Because amsoil is the best.

😳 never had that issue unless during the refill fluid fell on something that gets hot and is burning it off plz let us know once they find out
Where did you buy your funnel?
Auto zone
Did you use factory Transmission fluid?
Nvr mind I just viewed the STP fluid. Is your Transmission slipping at all?
Yes the kind that was in the manual or on the label it said what the manual said
@@numnuts398 And as of now so far no slipping
Thanks
1st why are you using cheap generac oil ? Like really ?
@@TOUGHLOVEFINANCE unfortunately that's what autozone referred and fyi look at the date customer still has no issues so looks like a win win for both
