Nightwing's Fighting Style | Eskrima Stick Attack

- With this FIT-GAMER Fight Move, Nightwing blocks an opponent's strike, then hits the opponent with 3 quick strikes to different targets. Finally, he knocks the opponent down with a heavy bolo strike to the chin!!!

Talking to my sifu and fellow wingchun practitioners here in Brazil, I've been told that Nightwing's fight style has a lot of kali in it; and, well, now I see that it's an awesome truth :-D As a lifelong Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne fan, I really like the ancient and deadly form of combat known as eskrima. B-)
I'm a filipino myself and i'll tell you that arnis is one of the most deadliest martial arts.. But arnis was really meant for depending/countering and disarming an opponent..

Sweet between Batman and Nightwing fighting style definitely want to do both fighting moves like them
I though of smacking the enemy with both escrima sticks to the face to stun them badly then go for a heavy cross kick

Actually I'll have to take a look at some of her moves. You and a couple others requested Batgirl as well, along with Catwoman possibly. So maybe sometime in the future I will get to them as well :)
Batgirl has some moves in common with Batman, but her own moves are dope imho. As for Catwoman, many of her moves are physically impossible (or at least extremely hard) to do, from what I can gather.

Yea, they were longer, but definitely too heavy for that length. So I cut them down, and Nightwing's eskrima sticks usually aren't very long anyways
Nightwing sticks look like they are about like 26" or 28". I could be wrong. I'll be looking out for another Nightwing video.

Thanks man! I appreciate the comment. I will be getting more Nightwing videos done soon. As for a standard weight, it depends on the use and the user. If it's a training stick, then you want to go fairly light, usually under a pound. If they are for combative use, then you might want to go higher in weight so they last a bit longer. Also, to measure length, just use the length of your own arm, from arm pit to finger tips. That way it will be fairly well balanced for you body type...

as soon as you said the bit about the center line, I was thinking "cross blocks are bad, cross blocks are bad" then I realized I don't have a lot of experience with blocks that stop the opponent, every time I train, and hit the opponents stick, we are both pulling our sticks out for a consecutive strike. what's your experience with this? also I like his philosophy in this, break the foundation and end with that bolo strike to knock him down
Yea any "block" on center line isn't the greatest idea, mostly because without the proper training, you will most likely get hit since people don't stop their weapons for you, they go fluid and follow through. It's always best to get off of center line when countering. However, there are ways to be safe with attacking the weapon on centerline and the opponent still follows through. It's just the range, timing, and weapon alignment have to be all on point. If one of them is missing, you're in trouble...

Do the next video of Batman again. Do the punch counter where he blocks the strike by bringing the bottom of his forearm to their elbow bent join while hitting them across the opposite jaw side of that hit, which knocks them a bit blank for a second until Batman palm strikes the spot imbetween the eyebrows of their face that takes them off balance and a bit dizzy and then flat foot strikes the side of the knee joint which ends them down...

Best of luck to ya mate. That one is my #1 favorite Arkham games move, the video you did with 1 arm with 3 strikes is my #2 favorite but they unfortunately took it away for Arkham knight and replaced it with an elbow to the rib and a judo throw instead.
Thanks! Yea, I like that 3 punch combo one for sure. It always reminds me of Bruce Lee lol. I'm taking a look at the moves in Arkham Knight that aren't in the other games. I just finished Arkham Knight not too long ago, and in my opinion, it was a great closer to the series. Not as big of a leap from Asylum to City, but it improved upon everything City had to offer for sure. Plus the graphics looked amazing...

Well, Bruce Lee was known as the fastest fighter in the world! He punches were always too fast for even a camera too keep up with, that move Batman did was fast, barely seen especially in the thug position of prospective it wouldn't of been seen but Arkham city system barely see's it in focus mode when the combat speeds up. Arkham knight moves are great especially the 2 separate boxing counters as they are my #3 & 4 spots but it #3 use to be the confusion knife dodge takedown where you obviously dodge the 3 slash attacks then Batman catches his arm and flings it back to the side of his attackers head then jabs him in the chin to disarm him from the knife afterwards swoops his arm into a circle so the thug is under his control and then knee strikes him to the side of the head and he goes flying back and knocked out. That one use to be my 3rd favorite but boxing counter where Batman weaves under the attackers arm and hits him in the rib then round 1 side of the face and the thug is knocked a bit stoned another oner hits the chin, that one replaces the knife dodge takedown moves from 3 to 5 now. But yeah, very good moves in all the Arkham Games!!!!
Yea I agree, it was hard to see. All I heard were the impacts and Batman in a cool pose as the opponent flops to the floor lol. I will be doing some knife counters as well eventually. I wish I could do this full time haha ;)
