I really like the possibility of Ferrus Manus being their Primarch. Since he was the first to die and how he died making him a great fit for the Legion. Plus it allows him to be back without really being back.
Even though this is far-fetched but i think Guilliman could be their primarch since he is known as the avenging son, the fire hawks are an ultramarine successor chapter and IIRC the "leader" of the legion is an ultramarine with the chalice that turned him into the damned
This would be amazing! Lore wise Ferrus (and the Iron Hands in general) could definitely use some love after being so overlooked compared to the other Legions. Also, a blazing immortal spectre of Ferrus Manus would be absolutely terrifying to face on the battlefield!
@Spartan-905 We need the love man Emperors children rumored to return in 40k but instead of us who despise those degenerates the iron hands seems GW is instead giving more stuff to ravenguard even though rn they dont need the spotlight.
Grey Knight Chaplain: "Well this is awkward... by the Emperor I am duty bound to expunge you and your kind. But you did help." Legion of the Damned Captain: "Look I didn't ask for this. But if you bolter me in the face, I'll just respawn. And I hate it."
There's an obvious parallel between the _Legion of The Damned_ in the Warhammer 40k Universe and the _Army of The Dead_ in the Middle Earth Universe...
Considering how much big e talks about coming back and forgivness i genuinely think theres gonna be something to do with the traitor legions becoming the legion of the damned
It's amazing how probably the Emperor himself moved some sticks on the other side to bring his son Ferrus Manus back with a brand new legion for him to lead. Burn all Emperium enemies to ashes!!! 🔥🔥🔥
You could at certain times during the game’s editions. That said, there is nothing to prevent you from choosing their markings and painting an entire army as Lotd. It looks pretty good on the tabletop, and in my day fewer people knew of the chapter. 2nd edition Ultramarines Codes has rules for attachment. There is a Legion of the Dammed codex, like 4th or maybe 5th edition, and there are other rules released at various times. When I played them as a space marine chapter, I always used Salamander chapter rules, which was perfect because of all the flames. There have been releases of Lotd minis, a single model for the opening of the 100th GW store, a boxed set of 10 metal marines and blisters of special and heavy weapons, and a boxed set of 5 marines and blisters of special and heavy weapons. It would not be worth buying them as they are twenty years old and are expensive collector’s items in eBay. $350+ CAD for the newest set of 5 marines. I say who cares if there are actual rules for them, the Salamanders will hopefully get their codex rules for 10th very soon and you can always claim your army is a successor chapter and be rules compliant. I have to retire 4000 points of firstborn marines individually uniquely painted and heavily modified Lotd army, that I love dearly. I can’t be rules compliant… It would be cool to see a Primaris Lotd army, and there is a vacancy, so go for it if you like. (Skeleton and undead minis from the other GW mini lines are awesome for head, arm, torso, and leg swap outs. A space marine in Mk7 armor except for the skeletal leg or arm looks neat.) Apologies, I just love the Lotd
My head canon is that they are basically imperial daemons, in the same vein as the living saints who would be greater imperial demons. It’s my belief that either through the emperor’s power or the belief of uncounted trillions over the last 9000 years has created a realm for the emperor and his servants and worthy souls to reside in. Or a mix off both his power and human belief. Basically a heaven if it’s not good awful lol. And in it there is the legion of the damned and the living saints. Those saints and the legion of the damned gotta stay somewhere don’t they? And several stories have shown what might be imperials going to heaven after death.
It is they who appear when and where needed most, it is them who the emperor hides... are they truly dead? I saw Ferrus being one of them... how can this be?
I EFFING LOVE THESE GUYS! I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO MAKE AN ARMY OF THEM FOR LIKE 15 YEARS NOW! ( I Remember reading a White Dwarf that had a short story about them and then some lore afterwards... And it just blew me away!). And I subscribe to that opinion/ believe, that they are the remaining members of the FIREHAWKS chapter. And because they came from the cursed founding_$ which was when the tech priests started messing with the GENE SEED to try to remove CERTAIN CHAPTERS "flaws " and improve them overall . Well they definitely screwed some shit up and made a bunch of wacky genetic crap happen to it, which made some things WORSE , (EXAMPLE: THE LAMENTERS NOT FALLING TO THE RED THIRST OR THE BLACK RAGE AS MUCH AS THEIR FELLOW CHAPTERS OF THE BLOOD..... BUT NOW INSTEAD, THEY'RE NOW THE MOST UNLUCKY SONOFABITCHES IN THE WHOLE DAMN UNIVERSE! But I DIGRESS...The Legion of The Damned have ALWAYS just been BAD ASS in my eyes ..and I WILL OWN an Army of them someday. P.S.- AT TIME STAMP *7:57 *, WE SEE A L.O.D. MARINE WITH ONE OF THE MOST BRUTAL HELMET DESIGNS I HAVE EVER SEEN. I AM SOOO GOING TO KITBASH THE SHITE OUT OF MY 30K HORUS HERESY RAVEN GUARD ARMY, SO I CAN STILL HAVE SOME CLASSIC "BEAKIES" ON THE MAJORITY OF MY MARINES, BUT WILL ALSO HAVE THIS EPIC HELMET DESIGN ON THE REST OF THE SQUAD. ANYWAY S AWESOME JOB ON THE VIDEO AS ALWAYS BRO-TEIN SHAKE! YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT! 🫵🏻✊🏻🤘🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻🤙🏻
I believe the empire unintentionally made them in the MASTER OF MANKIND book, but then once on the golden throne he was like FUCK IT CHAOS TWO CAN PLAY AT THE GAME STEAL YO SHIT so he cemented the fallen souls of space marines into being his DEAMONS only to be unleashed when needed and enough HOLY ENERGY is there. So to bring my gene father FERRIS MANUS INTO REALSPACE u need a ton of holy energy like PLAUGE to summon Morty or blood spilled to summon Angron
My absolute favorite theory is that because the emperor is the most powerful soul in the universe, and now due to him being in the shape that he's in on the golden throne his anger and vengeance are at the same time totally beyond his control, his power manifested the legion of the damn. I also believe the emperor is way stronger then even he may know and that's truly why he made his sons and all the other legions. Just my theory thanks for reading 😊
Ghost Rider Space Marines. The enemies of the Imperium don’t stand a chance.
Agreed!

Ferrus Manus is the goat.

"the flesh is weak , but vengeance is eternal ."
"the flesh is weak, but deeds endure"
"the flesh is weak, but our duty is ironclad."
Legion of the damned when they encounter the Grey knights: "brother, don't shoot, we are loyalists"
Shouldn't they rather be named the Blessed Legion?
Grey Knight Chaplain: "Well this is awkward... by the Emperor I am duty bound to expunge you and your kind. But you did help."
Legion of the Damned Captain: "Look I didn't ask for this. But if you bolter me in the face, I'll just respawn. And I hate it."
@vonkug actually they don't even have to respawn rounds can't even penatrate them
It's logical to conclude Kaldor Draigo has collaborated with the LOD on offensives within the Warp.
@@neototem4110he’s the grand master of both Ainor and Gond…. Uhh Grey knights and The Damned.
My favorite Warhammer lore creator who’s voice doesn’t match his face knocks it out the park again.
Somehow Sandman of Terra’s voice/face combo goes together 🤷🏾♂️
For The Emperor and Sanguinius!
Thank you for your continued support @Diomedes!
The novel where they destroy the Cholerchaust chaos crusade is dope. Basically show up, embarrass the bad guy, roll out
EVEN IN DEATH I STILL SERVE. - Rylanor
Excuse me while I shit myself and run away - Fulgrim.
Don't forget, it was a bomb that he took his life with.
Fulgrim: I can't die!
Rylanor: Round 2 motherfucker
There is no answer of what they are, but all that matters is they are warriors that defend humanity and the realm of the Emperor.
I’ll see that the Phoenician burns, for even in death, i still serve!
Close enough. Welcome back Ferrus Manus🙏

Legion of the Damned are easily one of my favorite Astartes

Would be a good story to see a Lamenters force being saved by the Legion of the Damned.
One of my favorite theories is that the Legion of the Damned was started by those who were betrayed on Istvaan 3.
Daunte: Finally. Death. Sweet release.
Sanginious: So... I feel really bad about this but... Need one more task for you

Either demons made by the Emperor from the warp or Ferrus Manus refusing to die

They used to have rules for them, but they were more like a special unit, as opposed to a whole army.

Despite their appearance I think they'd be better suited with the name "Legion of the Blessed".
It is they who appear when and where needed most, it is them who the emperor hides... are they truly dead? I saw Ferrus being one of them... how can this be?
