It's unnecessary though. Steam Deck exists because Valve believes Windows will eventually not allow Steam to download games, while ROG Ally and Legion Go just exist to compete.

I'm currently using my legion go, it's super versatile, i've got it docked at the moment and using a keyboard and mouse on my ultrawide monitor, and if I wanna go out all i have to do is pick up and go, having the detachable controllers means i don't have to sit with my arms closed in all damn day, and use it as a super powerful tablet of sorts. It's a near perfect device for all except software and Battery life. Yet it I can do absolute whatever I want since the software can only get better, and you aren't blocked from playing any game since all drivers are compatible. The Steamdeck has no reason to exist because Steam is never not going to be downloadable unless the company falls under.

This video sent me down a Rabbit hole on windows handheld systems. And I’ve come to the conclusion that although these things are SICK, windows is not yet optimized properly for a hand held device. And for the amount of money these units go for I would prefer something more streamlined like the steam deck oled. I don’t want to deal with all the drivers and extra downloads and tinkering to get the games working properly (I’m also not very familiar with windows as I use a Mac) however I would still like to win the lenovo legion go 😅 maybe experiencing it first hand will change my perspective 😊

It seemed for a while like vr was being pushed as the next big era in gaming, and maybe it still is, but to me it seems more and more like handhelds are going to be it, especially when paired with all the AR glasses releasing. Here’s to hoping systems like this become more affordable in the next few years!

This year has been great for gaming. So many great games, cool handhelds. Detachable controllers on this are a game changer for me, definitely want one of these now.
The fact that the Legion Go has 2 USB-C ports already makes it way more convenient for a lot of different reasons, but being able to use the controller as a mouse sounds like a game changer for sure

Lenovo Legion Go looks so cool. Nintendo needs to make the Switch 2 like this, but a lot lighter... How good's the Steam deck though. Lenovo made such an improvement.
It's incredible to me that you can fit whole gaming laptops into tiny, switch sized systems also the fact that the screen resolution is that high blows me away. The fact that a tiny handheld has a higher resolution than my monitor is bonkers and really innovative!
I've been thinking about the steam deck for a while but this looks much closer to what I'd need! Very impressed with the range of games tested, great review as always :)

The controller/mouse transformation is such a novel idea, it looks impressively ergonomic too for what it actually is
It is in FPS mode. But in handheld mode, it’s a bit heavy and the edges dig into your palms.
