this rom hack seems to show the "bad ending" of the game, as the dialog says that the Dark star is is full power, much of the world environment is destroyed, and many of the main charcters are dead.

If I had a coin for every creppypasta from Mario & Luigi that deals with a bad ending where Luigi dies and Mario is tormented and the title of the game become just Mario I would have 2 coins, it's not much, but it's rare that it's been 2 times
i can't help but feel bad for the person who recorded this nightmare of a ROM they sounded like they just wanted to give every one of their viewers a smile on their face with their gameplay videos, but that timely gift was unfortunately shattered on one fateful day... good video btw, keep up the good effort ! :]
Since it's not that hard to find a normal M&L ROM online and Logan was the only one who played this, I suspect that it was made by Logan himself for content.
@endermodeFR Then again... we don't know that he was the only one. From what we can see, it seems as though the bad ending can only be triggered if Mario specifically dies during the final boss. What if other players just didn't have that specific experience with this ROM, and therefore assumed it was just a normal ROM? There's just no way to know.

This was a fantastic retelling, it almost convinced me this was a real ROM and incident before the blood and gore started appearing. That's a very rare feeling with these types of creepypasta retake videos, so well done. Certain details I love are the fact there's a giant hole in Bowser's chest, implying the Dark Star and the parasitic Fawful literally tore apart Bowser from the inside to get out. How the cutscene has no actual animation, but rather fades from image to image to mimic how old DS-era cutscenes used to be shown with the technical limitations. Nearly everything about this is awesome and it's certainly a video I'll come to revisit when I need to be thoroughly spooked!

I just realized something about this video’s universe that I think is worth bringing up. While it’s stated it’s lost, it is very possible that some other people may also have downloaded this altered ROM (since Logan got it from a website) but never actually gotten this ending. Probably due to: A. They used Bros Attacks (a form of attack we don’t see Logan use), and were able to defeat the final boss before either bro fainted. B. Used save states to ensure neither bro could die So the question is, how long could it take before someone (in this universe) accidentally discovers that they have the same ROM Logan has? Still, great video man, keep it up!
Man all of this could have been avoided if Logan locked tf in and actually used their Bros attacks. Literally a single falling star would've prevented or at minimum prolonged the attack that killed luigi.
This actually made me feel really uncomfortable, something most creepypastas don't make me feel nowadays It all felt so real, the dialogue was great, and the fact that the letter L was completely erased from the font makes it 10x better. If I were a bit younger, I'd probably say something about how this would make me have nightmares or something, but I'm just really unsettled by... whatever this was Fantastic job!
This is a good creepypasta of Mario and Luigi. I now know why the title is called "A_one, are you?" The L in Alone is gone because Luigi died. I like the early 2010s style you added to this creepypasta. Happy Halloween Zerty.

I think what happened is that mario managed to run towards pipe yard so fawful decided to let him go for now and he started tearing bowser's organs apart to get out, then bowser was thrown off the building by dark bowser after fawful and the dark star left his body
Holy hell, this is a REALLY good adaptation of the creepypasta! You guys nailed the way characters move and preform actions in the M&L style, especially the part where the Toads ambush Mario, it feels like a genuine scene that would play out in M&L. HUGE round of applause to you and everybody else who worked on this, you all did an insane job!

I swear, the LAST thing I expected was a retake from a story such as "A_one, Are You?" It's been YEARS since I've first even heard about that, and I thought it was really good! I saw the title for the video and thought "This game had a ROM Hack? Huh, wonder what this'll be about." Then I happen to notice it just says "Mario _____: Bowser's Inside Story" and thought "...Wait, there's no way this is what I think it is-" Seriously, excellent job!

Read this creepypasta a while back and thought it could be adapted this way. Glad to see it here, especially with that title screen. Something about it was very effective in creeping me out. Alternate Title: What if Fawful and the Dark Star WON? I really wish Mario had some sort of second wind during the final battle, where he goes berserk on Fawful... that, or during the execution, where Mario fights back and tries (and fails) to get revenge, but oh well. Outstanding work, either way! Fawful looks REALLY creepy here!
I want a final battle version of dark Bowser vs Mario with db being able to heal infinity so that means Mario can't win and has no way to stop it he eventually gets whittle down with him running out of items as well

To those that don't get the plot here I think it is from what I've gathered The story takes place in an alternate bad ending to the game sometime after the final battle with Fawful. During the final fight Fawful succeeds in murdering Luigi unable to defeat Fawful alone Mario is forced to retreat. Fawful then using the power of the Dark Star breaks free from Bowser's stomach by ripping through him completely killing him in the process. Bowser's corpse was then presumably thrown off the highest tower of the castle landing in the courtyard. Fawful then proceeded to murder any other form of resistance as any civilians were then treated to Fawfulization having masks forcefully grafted to their faces resembling Fawful's mug. But Fawful knew there was one last loose end to tie up. His one remaining nemesis. Mario. He had something special planned for him. Mario after his escape sees to his horror the deaths of his friends and even Bowser. Unable to cope with this he flees back into the castle though this would prove to be a big mistake. He's greeted with Fawfulized Toads all taunting and mocking Mario over Luigi's death as he makes his way to the meeting chamber to confront Fawful. Unfortunately Fawful planned this. A bunch of the brainwashed Toads follow Mario in a mob cornering him as one knocks Mario over and swipes his hammer from him mocking him that he's no hero. The Toad then delivers a final blow to Mario's head. Mario wakes up to find himself in his own personal Hell. A Hell of Fawful's creation. In this world there is only him and Fawful. Fawful now taking on a more demonic form probably due to the Dark Star makes his intentions clear. He doesn't merely intend to kill Mario. No he intends to kill Mario and trap his soul in this Hell so he could torment and mock him for all eternity. Fawful leaves Mario trapped in the void unable to do anything but accept his eternal suffering. The screen then fades back to the world of the living. Mario's decapitated body laying on the floor with the hammer wedged where his head once was. The last hero has fallen. Any remaining resistance has died. And now the true reign of Fawful has finally begun. There is no hope now for the kingdom. There is only Fawful. We then see the final moments of the kingdom as the darkness engulfs it signaling the final moments of the Mushroom Kingdom as Fawful now has reign to reshape it in his twisted image.

*So, from what I can gather (SPOILERS AHEAD):* This ROM hack represents an alternative, bad ending to _Bowser's Inside Story,_ one where Mario 'abandons' Luigi in an attempt to destroy Fawful and the Dark Star, even though Luigi had just saved his life by using the only 1-up the two had. Mario's abandonment of his brother is represented by the player losing control over Luigi late into the final battle. As a result, without Luigi's help, Mario is no longer able to win against Fawful. (EDIT: Per the comments below, I got this paragraph slightly the wrong way around - though this _looks_ like what happened, it turns out that Fawful had engineered the entire thing, and managed to make it look like Mario abandoned Luigi, when in fact, he had successfully pulled off a plan to kill Luigi when he was at his most vulnerable! *Fawful, you magnificent (and clever) bastard!* Everything that follows is Fawful’s successful effort to take control and further wear Mario down, blaming him for something he had no control over.) In the time skip that follows, Fawful kills Bowser, Peach, and virtually all of the inhabitants of Toad Town, keeping only a select few to use as his servants, and uses the Dark Star to take over the Mushroom Kingdom. By the time we catch up, the Dark Star is at full power, and will soon allow Fawful to take over the entire world. Mario awakens in the ruins of Peach's Castle, and finds everyone dead, save for Fawful's servants, who call him a 'Defect' due to him (supposedly) choosing to abandon his brother. As Mario ventures further into the castle, the servants block off side areas of the castle, forcing him into an ambush where they scold him for his actions - "A pale face... is a guilty face..." and use Mario's own hammer to smash his head in, killing him. In his dying moments, Mario is faced with the supposed reality of his failure, as Fawful appears before him, mocking him for having 'the specialness', likely a veiled insult based on the fact that, according to him, Mario so willingly abandoned Luigi, and doomed everyone. Fawful says that he 'has it [the specialness] too'. This interestingly echoes Fawful's position in _Superstar Saga_ - while he was Cackletta's loyal servant, by the end of the game, he revealed that he had plans to mutiny and fight on his own, though he was defeated there before we could see what those plans would have entailed. Just as Fawful was planning to do all those years prior to the events of _Bowser's Inside Story,_ (according to Fawful and his servants) Mario abandoned the one he cared about the most, but unlike with Fawful, who now holds the entire world under his control, it went *horribly wrong.* The Dark Star finishes enshrouding the world in darkness, and Mario's soul is doomed to be Fawful's prisoner in his 'world of perfectness', _forever._ *Game Over.* *_Alone, are you? That is such badness... All you need is you... and Fawful._*
Mario actually didn’t purposely abandon him, he basically had no control over what had happened and was basically mocked/tormented for something he didn’t actually do. The reason why Luigi wasn’t able to be controlled was because Fawful was trying to get rid of Mario first, but Luigi had interrupted that plan by reviving him, and so Fawful’s expression change (and the brief frame of him and Luigi in front of a black screen) was meant to show how Fawful wanted Luigi GONE, and essentially disabled his ability to be controlled despite the action commands being present. Whenever I get to making a behind the scenes video, I’ll have a segment where I talk about what’s happening in the story and stuff. Your comment is a pretty good guess overall though!

This is great and all but I wonder how the events of Bowser Jr.’s Journey are playing out. Since the final battle against the Best Fitness Friends takes place at the same time as the final battle between Bowser and Dark Bowser, Bowser Jr. and the rest of Bowser’s army beat the Best Fitness Friends just like in the original game. However when they look at Peach’s Castle, instead of seeing the darkness dissipate, the darkness remains. Bowser Jr. and the others wonder what is happening with Bowser and worried for their master’s safety, decide to make their way over to Peach’s Castle and help him. Along their journey, they come across many familiar faces, but now they are Fawful’s minions, with masks on their faces resembling his mug. When they reach Toad Town, Bowser Jr. and the others are horrified when they see the bodies of multiple Toads and even Peach. They continue on and see something that makes their hearts drop. The corpse of Bowser. The entire army stares on in shock, with Kamek saying he can’t believe it. Tears build up in Jr.’s eyes, with him reflecting on his journey, where he grew as a person and learned to respect the rest of Bowser’s minions. His mind wanders back to when he was on the beach, right after Morton was corrupted by the Best Fitness Friends. Before, he had eagerly awaited Bowser’s return to his castle, as he knew Bowser would have been proud of his son’s growth. But now… now he’s gone, and he will never know. Bowser Jr.’s sadness starts to fade, replaced with an intense feeling of rage. Without a word, Jr. charges into Peach’s Castle, seeking revenge on Fawful for what he’s done. Kamek yells for him to wait, with him and the rest of Bowser’s army following Jr. into the castle. Bowser Jr. is quickly noticed by the multiple fawfulized Toads, however he pays no attention to them, burning any that gets in his way to a crisp. Eventually Jr. comes across Mario’s dead body, and a realization comes over him. If Fawful was powerful enough to defeat Mario, than he must be incredibly powerful. Bowser Jr. snaps out of his rage, and the rest of Bowser’s army finally catches up to him, seeing the body of Mario. Everyone stares at the body of Mario, until Jr. says he’s had enough, picking up the hammer wedged into Mario’s head. He says he’s going to use it as a weapon against Fawful, to honor the fallen hero. Jr. and the rest of Bowser’s army reach the throne room, where Fawful is sitting on what was once Peach’s throne. “So, Fawful sees you have finally arrived…” “I’ll make you pay for what you did to Dad! I swear it!” “As if you could win. Your army is mighty, but it is nothing compared to the great army of Fawful!” “I’ll do whatever it takes to defeat you! TIME TO END THIS NOW!” Fawful materializes the rest of his army in the throne room. Bowser Jr. and the others look on at Fawful and his army, knowing this will be their toughest battle yet. (Stopped here because I have no idea where this story would go next)

i’m a sucker for “what if” plots where the worst outcome ends up happen, it’s what made me love BigSharkZ’s Buzzbound so much, seeing how the world is is ruin after the dark star wiped out nearly everything and fawful taking complete control of whatever remains is haunting yeah the realistic blood is what you would expect from a creepypasta story but you’ve executed this so very well

6:38 having listened to the original creepypasta, and knowing Fawful's strange expression was supposed to happen when the three appendages were destroyed, that happening significantly earlier than I expected was actually very startling. I've heard some TH-camrs fantasize about a player thinking they're downloading the regular game, only to discover it's B3313, Sonic.exe, or some other creepy romhack/fangame. This would certainly be horrific to experience unexpectedly, and I find it fascinating that this situation could be real. Regardless, I think that this romhack is neat. I only know of a small handful of BIS ROM-hacks, most of which pretty small. But learning that once upon a time there was a CREEPYPASTA romhack for this game is mind-blowing. It looks pretty well made too. I hope someday it's either rediscovered or rebuilt by another modder.

Wow… I’m easily blown away by the sheer fact that someone actually made a Mario & Luigi Bowser’s inside story creepypasta but also doing a video about it too… This is seriously amazing and a really cool concept that I honestly had imagined myself being a thing and how cool that would be. I’m a huge fan of Mario and Luigi Bowser’s inside story and the whole lore behind the M&L series in general. Bowser’s inside story was the first M&L game I played in my childhood and I had played the other ones eventually. But yeah, I imagined at some point what it would be like having a bad alternative ending to the game and there are some pointers here in the video that match exactly how I imagined if Fawful won and the Dark Star spread it’s darkness around the entire kingdom. Toads being Fawfulized and the darkness slowly spreading until there is nothing left but black. That’s it, everything else has caught me off guard I love the dark themes/moments that happened here it’s perfect for the type of setting/direction this take on an alt ending for M&LBiS was going for. Btw, I’ll never see that fight with Fawful again without picturing that face he makes in this video. 😆😅 Seriously tho, great job on this! 😁👍
Wow! This ROM is so cool and very unsettling at the same time. I genuinely feel so sorry that Logan had to experience this creepypasta-like alternate ending to Bowser's Inside Story while he was alone at home, and on his birthday, no less. That makes it even more unsettling. I hope Logan's doing better nowadays and he's gotten over this unsettling memory.

And on top of that you got all the areas that you would have travelled through in the vanilla Bowser's inside story game slowly get shrouded in darkness as the music is playing. 15:26 Ngl this might be my favorite part of the video too

@@zacharylandrum4789 "Chuggaaconroy isn't a perfect person" isn't something that ever needed to be stated. the person who "exposed" him to begin with literally only did so because they got salty seeing people praise him on his own subreddit. The stuff that was said should have been said private and instead they wanted to turn it into some big thing likely just to get clout. Paraded some ""skeletons" in his closet (most of which were good natured mistakes he made when he were a stupid 19 year old; contrary to popular belief, your brain isn't 100% matured once you reach the age of adulthood) So no, he's not 100% innocent, not that that really needed to be said, but those who almost ruined his life over something that could've been talked about in private are even less so.
The most unsettling thing for me is the render of Bowser’s destroyed body at 9:40. Just imagine how a cutscene of Fawful tearing his way out of him, or like Mario trying to escape…its so grisly it makes me feel physically ill (10/10 great gore, would recommend c:)

Ya know this was interesting because from the moment I saw the thumbnail something was familiar to me. Then as the game played out it continued being incredibly familiar to me and I couldn’t place why. Then Logan made the comment about his parents coming home with a gift and I got this weird, sinking feeling. Then I finished it and checked the description to learn it was adapted from “A_one, Are You?” and immediately it ALL made sense. I haven’t listened to that story in fucking YEARS but I remember adoring it. I should check it out again now.
I am glad that someone finally both made a retake on this Mario Creepypasta and also even mentioned it. I remember listening to this Creepypasta, but I don't think anyone has ever mentioned it aside from this video. I am so glad that this isn't a lost story that was forgotten. Also, I think it is interesting how it was based off a nightmare the original creator had.

Fawful makes a different version of the disease that he made which was used in the toads with him hiding it inside one of his bots that Bowser unknowingly sucks in with instead of his entire body grows big like a ball only his insides grow big with it eventually going to pop Bowser like balloon Fawful destroys the exit pipes out of Bowser body so Mario and Luigi are stuck inside so now they need to find a way out
I think mario being held by the statue while having a wicked smile on his face would be a better ending than the reveal of him having died to A TOAD but other than that this is still amazing and you definitely nailed the vibe the original creepypasta was going for 👍

I'm not really a fan of the hopeless tone of creepypastas so I'd actually have Mario either win in the end or die with Fawful and the Dark Star

...Huh. At first, I thought this was something that ACTUALLY existed back in the day... until then I looked a bit deeper and realized it was just a mockup. Good shit, dude. You genuinely had me for a moment there.
The use of the ruined version of Peach’s castle on the bottom screen had quite an impact while watching, as it’s a constant reminder of what happened to Peach’s Castle in this ending Also during the part where Mario’s talking to Luigi again, I saw those initial images and was kinda giggling to myself due to being clearly fan made, but the second I saw Fawful, I felt my heart stop. I should clarify that while I think the drawings seem noticeably different from the Mario and Luigi art style (due to its shading and Luigi’s head being less ovally), by no means do I think it’s bad The song at the end being a remix of “The End” but in a minor key was a very clever, as I always associated that song with happy and celebratory thoughts, so to hear it again but all distorted just adds to the “Bad Ending” vibe very well Overall, great video! The eerie visuals and excellent sound design kept me feeling very disturbed throughout. Heck I almost thought this was real until I read the description lol. Keep up the great work!

And I can't say there aren't people like that who does make and upload things like the Bowser's Inside Story hack we see in this video. And I like to mention how odd it was that not only shortly after both the video of the creepy hack and the channel itself was taken down. Nobody talked about it, and I say that because doesn't a video/ ROM Hack like that would be talked about for a while till something else just as weird and creepy appeared on either TH-cam or the Internet?🤔 Or at least that is my thoughts on the matter.

This is awesome, amazing work. I've always been captivated by the idea of alternative endings to games (that I'm good at) where the villain's plan takes full effect and the setting becomes devastatingly oppressive from then on, as the villain has gained unimaginable power while you have to claw back from losing everything. Like FFVI if it held absolutely nothing back in realistically depicting how utterly you’ve failed, not only in a super-kaizo difficulty spike but a relentless, pervasive hopelessness throughout the rest of the story to match. This scratches a bit of that itch. I'd like for more of the scenario to be playable than is shown here, and not a walking simulator, but the tonal shift is absolutely dead on to how the idea should be done. Absolute carnage that subverts every player expectation of what is allowed to happen in a Mario game. I'd love to see some of the more horrifying possibilities Nintendo villains bring to the table portrayed in their true, full brutality like this. Like, give me a continuation of the scenario where Mario becomes the Shadow Queen's servant, please. Maybe, like, only Goombella and Yoshi survive the SQ's complete resurrection, and they now have to kill both Peach and Mario, who are now unstoppable demon gods with like 30,000 HP.
Man, of all the people to not only play this accursed mod, but gain clout and notoriety from it, it had to be a young amateur gaming on TH-cam for fun... The fact that he saved the anticipated final fight for the birthday episode is the real tearjerker. In the intro, he sounded so excited to celebrate with us, the audience. When the game crashes, he's miffed and confused, but still having a little fun. At the end, though, you can tell just from the graphic design that all the joy has been sucked away, with trauma and other sorts of emotional pain taking its place... WORST BIRTHDAY EVER, indeed.
I should've realized it's a creepypasta retelling. People nowadays know that pretty much everything existed at some point. They wouldn't riddicule you, they'd send you to the Lost Media subreddit.
This was an amazing video, I never heard about this story before, crazy that it was made by Fawful's Minion While obviously the gore is a bit cliché, the way everything is done is great, love the whole post-fight scene with Mario slowly walking around a destroyed Kingdom And while the gore was cliché, the part where the bottom screen shows Bowser's insides is really well done and unnerving I also just realized while typing, that letters aren't just randomly missing, its the "L" key that is missing
i hadn’t ever heard of this creepypasta before so i was really impressed by it the part with bowser and the reveal of what happened to him has to be my favorite, as well as the depiction of fawful. i really like how he’s still pretty much the same guy but that actually WORKS in this context since he’s still super unsettling the atmosphere was really well done too, especially in the menus you guys all did a great job on this

I'd say the developer made this based of a nightmare they had that involved this game specifically. If that's the case then I'm surprised and very glad that I wasn't the only one that had a nightmare that took place in Mario and Luigi Bowser's inside story. Well made horror ROM
This video is reaaaaaaally well made, especially the mock up of the channel's owner internet persona, but here's some advice to make it look extra legit: -When portraying a young internet user from back in that date, you don't really want to overdo it with the poor writing, caps and exclamations, instead try to write everything they say as fast as posible without thinking much in correcting mistakes, it's a more natural approach at the early 2000's internet average text, you also really want to shorten up words in a similar fashion to what they did before -Having small jokes and winks at memes and references of the time can help a little bit with making the characterization a whole lot realistic, especially when talking about a youngster making amateur videos for a gameplay channels, having them say something like "i hope my cake is not a lie!!! XD" would had really enhanced the idea of them being kinda geeky, and thus, making the character feel convincing. Overall pretty fine video! I had never expected to see a creepypasta of M&L BIS, back when i was 13 years or so i had intended making a creepypasta for that game too, a little part of my youngster self feels quite satisfied after this video!

@endermodeFR Then again... we don't know that he was the only one. From what we can see, it seems as though the bad ending can only be triggered if Mario specifically dies during the final boss. What if other players just didn't have that specific experience with this ROM, and therefore assumed it was just a normal ROM? There's just no way to know.

This was a fantastic retelling, it almost convinced me this was a real ROM and incident before the blood and gore started appearing. That's a very rare feeling with these types of creepypasta retake videos, so well done.
Certain details I love are the fact there's a giant hole in Bowser's chest, implying the Dark Star and the parasitic Fawful literally tore apart Bowser from the inside to get out. How the cutscene has no actual animation, but rather fades from image to image to mimic how old DS-era cutscenes used to be shown with the technical limitations. Nearly everything about this is awesome and it's certainly a video I'll come to revisit when I need to be thoroughly spooked!

I just realized something about this video’s universe that I think is worth bringing up.
While it’s stated it’s lost, it is very possible that some other people may also have downloaded this altered ROM (since Logan got it from a website) but never actually gotten this ending. Probably due to:
A. They used Bros Attacks (a form of attack we don’t see Logan use), and were able to defeat the final boss before either bro fainted.
B. Used save states to ensure neither bro could die
So the question is, how long could it take before someone (in this universe) accidentally discovers that they have the same ROM Logan has?
Still, great video man, keep it up!

I think what happened is that mario managed to run towards pipe yard so fawful decided to let him go for now and he started tearing bowser's organs apart to get out, then bowser was thrown off the building by dark bowser after fawful and the dark star left his body

To those that don't get the plot here I think it is from what I've gathered
The story takes place in an alternate bad ending to the game sometime after the final battle with Fawful. During the final fight Fawful succeeds in murdering Luigi unable to defeat Fawful alone Mario is forced to retreat. Fawful then using the power of the Dark Star breaks free from Bowser's stomach by ripping through him completely killing him in the process. Bowser's corpse was then presumably thrown off the highest tower of the castle landing in the courtyard. Fawful then proceeded to murder any other form of resistance as any civilians were then treated to Fawfulization having masks forcefully grafted to their faces resembling Fawful's mug. But Fawful knew there was one last loose end to tie up. His one remaining nemesis. Mario. He had something special planned for him. Mario after his escape sees to his horror the deaths of his friends and even Bowser. Unable to cope with this he flees back into the castle though this would prove to be a big mistake. He's greeted with Fawfulized Toads all taunting and mocking Mario over Luigi's death as he makes his way to the meeting chamber to confront Fawful. Unfortunately Fawful planned this. A bunch of the brainwashed Toads follow Mario in a mob cornering him as one knocks Mario over and swipes his hammer from him mocking him that he's no hero. The Toad then delivers a final blow to Mario's head. Mario wakes up to find himself in his own personal Hell. A Hell of Fawful's creation. In this world there is only him and Fawful. Fawful now taking on a more demonic form probably due to the Dark Star makes his intentions clear. He doesn't merely intend to kill Mario. No he intends to kill Mario and trap his soul in this Hell so he could torment and mock him for all eternity. Fawful leaves Mario trapped in the void unable to do anything but accept his eternal suffering. The screen then fades back to the world of the living. Mario's decapitated body laying on the floor with the hammer wedged where his head once was. The last hero has fallen. Any remaining resistance has died. And now the true reign of Fawful has finally begun. There is no hope now for the kingdom. There is only Fawful. We then see the final moments of the kingdom as the darkness engulfs it signaling the final moments of the Mushroom Kingdom as Fawful now has reign to reshape it in his twisted image.

*So, from what I can gather (SPOILERS AHEAD):*
This ROM hack represents an alternative, bad ending to _Bowser's Inside Story,_ one where Mario 'abandons' Luigi in an attempt to destroy Fawful and the Dark Star, even though Luigi had just saved his life by using the only 1-up the two had. Mario's abandonment of his brother is represented by the player losing control over Luigi late into the final battle. As a result, without Luigi's help, Mario is no longer able to win against Fawful.
(EDIT: Per the comments below, I got this paragraph slightly the wrong way around - though this _looks_ like what happened, it turns out that Fawful had engineered the entire thing, and managed to make it look like Mario abandoned Luigi, when in fact, he had successfully pulled off a plan to kill Luigi when he was at his most vulnerable! *Fawful, you magnificent (and clever) bastard!* Everything that follows is Fawful’s successful effort to take control and further wear Mario down, blaming him for something he had no control over.)
In the time skip that follows, Fawful kills Bowser, Peach, and virtually all of the inhabitants of Toad Town, keeping only a select few to use as his servants, and uses the Dark Star to take over the Mushroom Kingdom. By the time we catch up, the Dark Star is at full power, and will soon allow Fawful to take over the entire world. Mario awakens in the ruins of Peach's Castle, and finds everyone dead, save for Fawful's servants, who call him a 'Defect' due to him (supposedly) choosing to abandon his brother. As Mario ventures further into the castle, the servants block off side areas of the castle, forcing him into an ambush where they scold him for his actions - "A pale face... is a guilty face..." and use Mario's own hammer to smash his head in, killing him.
In his dying moments, Mario is faced with the supposed reality of his failure, as Fawful appears before him, mocking him for having 'the specialness', likely a veiled insult based on the fact that, according to him, Mario so willingly abandoned Luigi, and doomed everyone.
Fawful says that he 'has it [the specialness] too'. This interestingly echoes Fawful's position in _Superstar Saga_ - while he was Cackletta's loyal servant, by the end of the game, he revealed that he had plans to mutiny and fight on his own, though he was defeated there before we could see what those plans would have entailed. Just as Fawful was planning to do all those years prior to the events of _Bowser's Inside Story,_ (according to Fawful and his servants) Mario abandoned the one he cared about the most, but unlike with Fawful, who now holds the entire world under his control, it went *horribly wrong.*
The Dark Star finishes enshrouding the world in darkness, and Mario's soul is doomed to be Fawful's prisoner in his 'world of perfectness', _forever._ *Game Over.*

Mario actually didn’t purposely abandon him, he basically had no control over what had happened and was basically mocked/tormented for something he didn’t actually do.
The reason why Luigi wasn’t able to be controlled was because Fawful was trying to get rid of Mario first, but Luigi had interrupted that plan by reviving him, and so Fawful’s expression change (and the brief frame of him and Luigi in front of a black screen) was meant to show how Fawful wanted Luigi GONE, and essentially disabled his ability to be controlled despite the action commands being present.
Whenever I get to making a behind the scenes video, I’ll have a segment where I talk about what’s happening in the story and stuff. Your comment is a pretty good guess overall though!

This is great and all but I wonder how the events of Bowser Jr.’s Journey are playing out.
Since the final battle against the Best Fitness Friends takes place at the same time as the final battle between Bowser and Dark Bowser, Bowser Jr. and the rest of Bowser’s army beat the Best Fitness Friends just like in the original game. However when they look at Peach’s Castle, instead of seeing the darkness dissipate, the darkness remains. Bowser Jr. and the others wonder what is happening with Bowser and worried for their master’s safety, decide to make their way over to Peach’s Castle and help him. Along their journey, they come across many familiar faces, but now they are Fawful’s minions, with masks on their faces resembling his mug. When they reach Toad Town, Bowser Jr. and the others are horrified when they see the bodies of multiple Toads and even Peach. They continue on and see something that makes their hearts drop. The corpse of Bowser. The entire army stares on in shock, with Kamek saying he can’t believe it. Tears build up in Jr.’s eyes, with him reflecting on his journey, where he grew as a person and learned to respect the rest of Bowser’s minions. His mind wanders back to when he was on the beach, right after Morton was corrupted by the Best Fitness Friends. Before, he had eagerly awaited Bowser’s return to his castle, as he knew Bowser would have been proud of his son’s growth. But now… now he’s gone, and he will never know. Bowser Jr.’s sadness starts to fade, replaced with an intense feeling of rage. Without a word, Jr. charges into Peach’s Castle, seeking revenge on Fawful for what he’s done. Kamek yells for him to wait, with him and the rest of Bowser’s army following Jr. into the castle. Bowser Jr. is quickly noticed by the multiple fawfulized Toads, however he pays no attention to them, burning any that gets in his way to a crisp. Eventually Jr. comes across Mario’s dead body, and a realization comes over him. If Fawful was powerful enough to defeat Mario, than he must be incredibly powerful. Bowser Jr. snaps out of his rage, and the rest of Bowser’s army finally catches up to him, seeing the body of Mario. Everyone stares at the body of Mario, until Jr. says he’s had enough, picking up the hammer wedged into Mario’s head. He says he’s going to use it as a weapon against Fawful, to honor the fallen hero. Jr. and the rest of Bowser’s army reach the throne room, where Fawful is sitting on what was once Peach’s throne.
“So, Fawful sees you have finally arrived…”
“I’ll make you pay for what you did to Dad! I swear it!”
“As if you could win. Your army is mighty, but it is nothing compared to the great army of Fawful!”
“I’ll do whatever it takes to defeat you! TIME TO END THIS NOW!”
Fawful materializes the rest of his army in the throne room. Bowser Jr. and the others look on at Fawful and his army, knowing this will be their toughest battle yet.

I've heard some TH-camrs fantasize about a player thinking they're downloading the regular game, only to discover it's B3313, Sonic.exe, or some other creepy romhack/fangame. This would certainly be horrific to experience unexpectedly, and I find it fascinating that this situation could be real.
Regardless, I think that this romhack is neat. I only know of a small handful of BIS ROM-hacks, most of which pretty small. But learning that once upon a time there was a CREEPYPASTA romhack for this game is mind-blowing. It looks pretty well made too. I hope someday it's either rediscovered or rebuilt by another modder.

Wow… I’m easily blown away by the sheer fact that someone actually made a Mario & Luigi Bowser’s inside story creepypasta but also doing a video about it too… This is seriously amazing and a really cool concept that I honestly had imagined myself being a thing and how cool that would be. I’m a huge fan of Mario and Luigi Bowser’s inside story and the whole lore behind the M&L series in general. Bowser’s inside story was the first M&L game I played in my childhood and I had played the other ones eventually. But yeah, I imagined at some point what it would be like having a bad alternative ending to the game and there are some pointers here in the video that match exactly how I imagined if Fawful won and the Dark Star spread it’s darkness around the entire kingdom. Toads being Fawfulized and the darkness slowly spreading until there is nothing left but black. That’s it, everything else has caught me off guard I love the dark themes/moments that happened here it’s perfect for the type of setting/direction this take on an alt ending for M&LBiS was going for.
Btw, I’ll never see that fight with Fawful again without picturing that face he makes in this video. 😆😅

Wow! This ROM is so cool and very unsettling at the same time. I genuinely feel so sorry that Logan had to experience this creepypasta-like alternate ending to Bowser's Inside Story while he was alone at home, and on his birthday, no less. That makes it even more unsettling. I hope Logan's doing better nowadays and he's gotten over this unsettling memory.

Ya know this was interesting because from the moment I saw the thumbnail something was familiar to me. Then as the game played out it continued being incredibly familiar to me and I couldn’t place why. Then Logan made the comment about his parents coming home with a gift and I got this weird, sinking feeling. Then I finished it and checked the description to learn it was adapted from “A_one, Are You?” and immediately it ALL made sense. The use of the ruined version of Peach’s castle on the bottom screen had quite an impact while watching, as it’s a constant reminder of what happened to Peach’s Castle in this ending
Also during the part where Mario’s talking to Luigi again, I saw those initial images and was kinda giggling to myself due to being clearly fan made, but the second I saw Fawful, I felt my heart stop. I should clarify that while I think the drawings seem noticeably different from the Mario and Luigi art style (due to its shading and Luigi’s head being less ovally), by no means do I think it’s bad
The song at the end being a remix of “The End” but in a minor key was a very clever, as I always associated that song with happy and celebratory thoughts, so to hear it again but all distorted just adds to the “Bad Ending” vibe very well
Overall, great video! The eerie visuals and excellent sound design kept me feeling very disturbed throughout. Heck I almost thought this was real until I read the description lol. Keep up the great work!

Also, I agree with the main character Eddy when he mentioned that the creator of the ROM Hack possibly made it to scare younger players. And I can't say there aren't people like that who does make and upload things like the Bowser's Inside Story hack we see in this video. And I like to mention how odd it was that not only shortly after both the video of the creepy hack and the channel itself was taken down. Nobody talked about it, and I say that because doesn't a video/ ROM Hack like that would be talked about for a while till something else just as weird and creepy appeared on either TH-cam or the Internet?🤔 Or at least that is my thoughts on the matter.

This is awesome, amazing work. I've always been captivated by the idea of alternative endings to games (that I'm good at) where the villain's plan takes full effect and the setting becomes devastatingly oppressive from then on, as the villain has gained unimaginable power while you have to claw back from losing everything. Like FFVI if it held absolutely nothing back in realistically depicting how utterly you’ve failed, not only in a super-kaizo difficulty spike but a relentless, pervasive hopelessness throughout the rest of the story to match. This scratches a bit of that itch. I'd like for more of the scenario to be playable than is shown here, and not a walking simulator, but the tonal shift is absolutely dead on to how the idea should be done. Absolute carnage that subverts every player expectation of what is allowed to happen in a Mario game.
I'd love to see some of the more horrifying possibilities Nintendo villains bring to the table portrayed in their true, full brutality like this. Like, give me a continuation of the scenario where Mario becomes the Shadow Queen's servant, please. Maybe, like, only Goombella and Yoshi survive the SQ's complete resurrection, and they now have to kill both Peach and Mario, who are now unstoppable demon gods with like 30,000 HP.

The fact that he saved the anticipated final fight for the birthday episode is the real tearjerker. In the intro, he sounded so excited to celebrate with us, the audience. When the game crashes, he's miffed and confused, but still having a little fun. At the end, though, you can tell just from the graphic design that all the joy has been sucked away, with trauma and other sorts of emotional pain taking its place...

i remember seeing a similar creepy pasta called "Mario Dream Team". it had the same "Luigi is dead" vibe like this one. i dont have much more to say, but heres the story: The story follows Mario trapped inside of Luigi's mind after Luigi has passed away, Mario frantically trying to escape and save his brother in the progress. Mario and his dying brother traverse the depths of Luigi's mind, all while being hunted down by hundreds of distorted, rotting clones of Luigi. (taken from House of Horrorbrews Wiki)

Jeez, I haven't even thought about Logan's nightmare turned creepypasta in years. This is a quality retake, dude. Clearly worthy of acknowledgement from the alliterating overlord himself
I'd say the developer made this based of a nightmare they had that involved this game specifically. If that's the case then I'm surprised and very glad that I wasn't the only one that had a nightmare that took place in Mario and Luigi Bowser's inside story. Well made horror ROM
This video is reaaaaaaally well made, especially the mock up of the channel's owner internet persona, but here's some advice to make it look extra legit:
-When portraying a young internet user from back in that date, you don't really want to overdo it with the poor writing, caps and exclamations, instead try to write everything they say as fast as posible without thinking much in correcting mistakes, it's a more natural approach at the early 2000's internet average text, you also really want to shorten up words in a similar fashion to what they did before
-Having small jokes and winks at memes and references of the time can help a little bit with making the characterization a whole lot realistic, especially when talking about a youngster making amateur videos for a gameplay channels, having them say something like "i hope my cake is not a lie!!! XD" would had really enhanced the idea of them being kinda geeky, and thus, making the character feel convincing.
Overall pretty fine video! I had never expected to see a creepypasta of M&L BIS, back when i was 13 years or so i had intended making a creepypasta for that game too, a little part of my youngster self feels quite satisfied after this video!
