I think they went with the cloud because it would look more natural. A plane needs speed to fly so to see it going back and forth very slowly would have felt somewhat off. Also a plane is a very complicated image which would have really strained the console. Something that can hover like a helicopter is even more complex and would look too technical.

one of the reasons i love nsmb for the ds is because of the bosses. Nowadays nintendo just seems to put the koopalings in and just not bother coming up with new bosses. But in nsmb, we got the mummified pokey, giant jumpy fishy cheepy thing, giant goomba, petey pihrana, monty mole in a tank that shoots bullet bills and bob-oms, thunder lakitu and even dry bowser. These are all imaginative and new bosses that are fun to defeat, and i wish we could get more of that.

I recreated the green spiny egg in Super Mario Maker 2, just put a spike in a rideable cloud, that’s all, I made an alternate version without a spike, and just the enemies in this video throwing spiky balls, but only one of those projectiles can be spawned at a time, and another with a bullet blaster, they don’t work in snow, however, so I made one that shoots spiny helmets instead, the helmets bounce off walls, for the other versions, I need to put sideways springs on every wall.
When you were showing the games, Weegee was on one of them and also at the end of the video, when you were showing the Mario enemies, Weegee was at the end of the list
I remember the first time I discovered the mirror room in Super Mario 64 DS, I tried to hit the lakitu or jump into it, anything... I didn't know what it was :( I didn't know it was just trying to film :((
