Seeing the summit is a nice change, climbing Ben Lomond was tough the first time, was tired and could not see the end in sight, it also gets steeper at the end just to finish you off haha.
Great video, viewed 5 days after walking the Llanberis Path myself (July'23). Completely agree with comments about the first (tarmac) section. I didn't think I'd complete the walk at that point, it was so steep. But do take your time and it improves a lot once you're on the stony/rocky section. It was cloudy at the top on the day, so nice to see the summit in its full glory.
It’s a good job I make these for my mum so there’s no swearing in it! She’d kill me!! It’s about getting everyone out to me and not being intimidated. I’d played a gig in Wigan the night before on the back of a lorry and was that awake I didn’t sleep till about 4am and got to the mountain about 4.30 pm!!
Great video. Have done this path 3 times. Took us a longer but I was probably mid 50s the first time and not very fit. My hubby and two daughters enjoyed it. Have spent the night up there twice fantastic sunset and sunrise.
Your vid reminded me of walk from Llanberis when I was about 12 with my Dad, and from Rhyd-du with friends in our 20s. Then 3 years ago, in the summer, with my wife; in our 70s. Couldn't manage to walk it now, but still remember the spectacular view on ascents and from the top. Thank you for your vid.

Paul Jones Mate, went up on the 28th Dec. It felt alot harder on the legs and the weather at the top was atrocious and it was pitch dark when we completed the descent!

Did this on Friday, dry until 800m then started chucking it down and blowing a hooley. Up and down in a bit over 7 hrs. The steps down from the summit and Clogwyn were so slippery. Took me ages to get down and up there.
Sorry to hear about the weather. However to me you did the best route and hopefully it gave a little back to you. My aunts been up 12 times and still never seen the summit properly due to cloud! Paul

@@pauljones401 it was mate I did it with my son in law and one of my daughters ,there was a group of 12 ,we all did it for charity,Birmingham kids hospital,were my grandson was when he was born they saved his life long story ,so thought we would try raise bit monies for them ,the walk was hard going for me as I hadn’t done any proper walking in over 40 years but we got to the top with 10 mins to spare before sun came up

Hi Sue. Thank you. I’ve had a couple of bad car crashes so therefore don’t move that well. It’s been about opening up these places to the rest of us who can’t just roll up like some films are and are up and down there in 4 hours without any issue. Guess I got tired of hearing a lot of machismo around the idea of doing things like this and it’s why I do this. In fact excuse the diatribe but it is! This path is the best for so many different experiences and is also full of people like us. Be slow at the start as I ( keep !! ) saying and I reckon you’d have a fantastic 6 hours without blowing a gasket as that’s not the point. Also be wary like I say of that bit after going under the tunnel as it’s very tough but just stay slow. Didn’t start this until 40 but I’m thrilled if I can show people around. Also ps I’d played a big concert night before so actually due to being too excited to sleep that night I didn’t attempt this until erm 4pm!!! He he! Magical place and all the best and let me know how you all do! Paul 👍
I did it today in 3 hours and one quarter in running shoes and with a shemag wrapped around my face. Fell on my arse twice on the way down and almost twisted an ankle. A thick mist swallowed the top half of the mountain so I'm seeing the views for the first time even though I was there earlier.
Check it out in Google Earth VR if you are lucky enough to have a virtual reality headset. This is one of the really great adventures in VR too. Google shot the whole region in 3D photogrammetry.
Shawn Lassetter Hi fella. Main problem is the wind if it's icy up there or snow when you get to the top of the pyg and miners track. If it's blowing more than 20mph in llanberris you can count on 60-70 up there and it's not pleasant. Hope you go, I went early march a few times and it was stunning. Good luck

LordHeath1972 I am using an iPhone 5s and using TH-cam capture to edit. I use the stabilisation option in capture but not the colour correction. That's it. Drove from Wigan so reckon most shots were after 2pm until 5pm.

Samantha Casey Hi! Fair play and great luck to you. I don’t deny that in the past I’ve not lived the most wholesome life ( drinking smoking...... you get the drift!) but I would say if you can walk 10k twice a week until say 6 weeks before then do it 3 times a week then you’ll be in the ballpark. Plus weirdly don’t rush. Trying to keep up is a killer. Figure how quick you are comfortably doing 4K an hour and stick to it. It took me 8 hours to do the Ben but due to car crash injuries I know I’m not as quick as most. I’m sure it was 16k up and down the Ben for me but hopefully you’re in a slightly better place. Follow yourselves as a group with this mileage so to speak. I was expecting another comment dissing my welsh pronunciations which was entirely valid back then but I didn’t expect this so I’ve thought about it! Good luck and hope more than anything you all get something from it. Paul
pigsinblankets941 It’s the most level that’s put it that way. Also you can clearly see ahead and loads take up youngsters so best one if you were to do it. I’d practice somewhere smaller first though! P

Hi Lee. Now obviously I’m not a health professional. But. If she can do that first bit ok and I really meant it when I said crawl almost up it because I’ve a few issues too then she’ll be fine. People rush it but my personal mantra is don’t get out of breath. You will get there, it is a bit weird to see people flying past you but to me that’s not the point. Get there in your own time. It feels strange to say to yourself slow down, it really does! But I’ve certainly seen children much younger up there but so what. If she is ok doing 7 8 Km that is a good yardstick. Plus the path is well occupied and if there is an issue then there is a lot of friendly help around too. I can’t over emphasise how many problems I have ( car crashes etc ) but if you don’t rush then it is there for everyone. Plenty of fluids and if your sweating, calm it! Hope that helps. P

You were luck to have such beautiful weather for your ascent. I have been up 5 times and 3 of those have been cloudy at the top.

I don’t deny that in the past I’ve not lived the most wholesome life ( drinking smoking...... you get the drift!) but I would say if you can walk 10k twice a week until say 6 weeks before then do it 3 times a week then you’ll be in the ballpark. Plus weirdly don’t rush. Trying to keep up is a killer. Figure how quick you are comfortably doing 4K an hour and stick to it. It took me 8 hours to do the Ben but due to car crash injuries I know I’m not as quick as most. I’m sure it was 16k up and down the Ben for me but hopefully you’re in a slightly better place. Follow yourselves as a group with this mileage so to speak. I was expecting another comment dissing my welsh pronunciations which was entirely valid back then but I didn’t expect this so I’ve thought about it! Would this path be doable with a baby (in carrier) or too risky?
pigsinblankets941 It’s the most level that’s put it that way. Also you can clearly see ahead and loads take up youngsters so best one if you were to do it. I’d practice somewhere smaller first though! P

Syeed Hussain great time to go bud as long as it is not more than 20mph wind at llanberris as you can times it by 3 at the top which can make it really difficult at top

Hi Lee. Now obviously I’m not a health professional. But. If she can do that first bit ok and I really meant it when I said crawl almost up it because I’ve a few issues too then she’ll be fine. People rush it but my personal mantra is don’t get out of breath. You will get there, it is a bit weird to see people flying past you but to me that’s not the point. Get there in your own time. It feels strange to say to yourself slow down, it really does! But I’ve certainly seen children much younger up there but so what. If she is ok doing 7 8 Km that is a good yardstick. Plus the path is well occupied and if there is an issue then there is a lot of friendly help around too. I can’t over emphasise how many problems I have ( car crashes etc ) but if you don’t rush then it is there for everyone. Plenty of fluids and if your sweating, calm it! Hope that helps. P
How many miles from Llanberis to top of Snowdon?

Snowdon ranger is easiest in my opinion
Done the Pyg track up and miners path down in February NOT A GREAT ROUTE.
They are very hard to me.

@@nicholasjones7312 I like Lliwedd crib Goch the 2nd part to Rhyd Ddu is nice I like most ways up not keen on the pyg track I've never done the Snowdon ranger path.
@@jones1068 Ranger path is great for if its in bad conditions and you dont want to do the llanberis track. Recommed it.
