The 968 CS was introduced in late 1992 with the first German cars being registered in October of that year. It wasn't until January of 1993 that the first UK car was registered and within the year the Club Sport had been voted performance car of the year. The CS was aimed at the enthusiast seeking pure driving thrills without the need for certain luxuries. In lightweight trim it weighs 85kg less than an optioned 968 coupe and has a 0-60mph time of 6.1 seconds.
