    Super good lesson. I am already humming a bunch of ideas over this two chord backing track.
    I enjoyed the pace and content of this entire video, especially the way you described the base ideas/concepts and later the final ones.
    Thanks for this open source initiative.
    Must say your Galactic lesson series are pots of gold and I am very happy to have found those, they are totally engaging. [I feel like Gohan practicing with Goku in the hyperbolic time chamber, {notice I refer to you as Goku here😁}].
    In the future lessons, I would be interested in studying more about your methodologies on developing the "touch" on an instrument. Also I love the tone, so perhaps a lesson on just tone.
    Also, your right hand seems very cultivated 😁(not to mention the left😉), so how could one go about cultivating the right left coordinations especially while playing intervals?
    Just curious what pick are you using there? Have you tried the blue chips pics?
    I know it's a long post. But seeing your openness here in this video and the previous ones I could not help but express these doubt without hesitation. (I thank you again for creating this sense of freedom).
    Looking forward to more and more.
    Enjoy🙏

    I love this lesson and backing track. Strangely though it sounds better to my ears when I play G natural minor over the Gm9 and Bb Dorian over Bbmin9. (I believe you said Dorian for both in the video, but my ears gravitate towards two flats over the Gm9 (Bb and Eb). It’s also really sweet to switch between different major and minor pentatonic scales over these changes. You could do an entire video lesson on that subject alone. Do you think you could create more videos with just two chords to improvise over that are in two separate tonal centers like this one? This is an awesome area of study for me and many others I’m sure. Thanks again!

    Here's an idea for the next video: How about taking 3-4 chords that has NO connection to one another, and show us how to create melodies with minimum movement?

    • @WeissGuitar
      @WeissGuitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, bro! Would love to hear more about what you mean - Same as this vid but with more than 2 chords?

    • @AlexVonCrank
      @AlexVonCrank ปีที่แล้ว

      @Daniel Weiss when I read it I though he was saying take 4 chords from 4 'unrelated' keys with no common chords tones or connected diatonic relationship and play over them?

  • @texaspete7897
    @texaspete7897 ปีที่แล้ว

    Enjoyed the lesson. I think that the point of working on one string or pairs up and down the neck is to break the cycle of "box playing". That's my takeaway anyway. We just just naturally revert to those box shapes unless mindfully avoiding them. I like the idea of knowing the note functions ( 3rd, 5th, 9th, etc. ) as you work around the positions. I'm guilty of glossing over that aspect. Thanks for the ideas Daniel.. You never stop learning - until you stop learning.....
