Taking off from Boston Logan International airport in a Boeing 737...
April 7, 2012 - American Airlines 1247 (737-800)
Boston Logan to Chicago O'Hare
Seat 23F
Lots of ground action on this one. Great climb out right over downtown Boston finishing with a look back to the airport in the distance as we speed up above 10,000 ft and head Northwest. Was a bit bumpy at the start but cleaned up once the captain retracted the flaps.

I enjoyed watching this.
1. Yes.
2. Yes..for the most part.
3. Always...as in any other airline.
4. Flying is safer than driving...AA has a high safety record.
5. No pointers. Just get in there and do it. I was terrified of flying before but I had no other choice (literally). Get a window seat and look out..it's always fun. I've flown about 35 times and am flying out to Sacramento, CA. from Norfolk, VA. next month, I can't wait. Turbulence has been a bit scary once and bad another time...longest hour of my life! :)
I've seen your other videos and I believe your "three fingers" are a built-in tripod on your hand :)
Awesome vid I love it.
Thanks!
thanks! i live in boston!
They're a really big airline, but they do reasonably well... I end up flying on American all the time because their hub is in a perfect place for flying to the East coast from Southern California. Keeps the lengths of the flights to less than 3 hours for each leg.
Nice video!
and let me tell you something the quality is awesome I really enjoy this video keep it up;) just one question how is the service with american?
2. It depends on weather and ATC. 3. Im sure they are very nice. 4. They have not had a fatal accident since 2001. 5. Sit at the window, it sounds stupid but if you can see that the plane is flying straight and level your anxiety will ease a bit. Sit behind the wings so you can see them, and remember, an airplanes wings will always flex a bit in flight, there are spoilers, ailerons and flaps on a wing that are supposed to move up and down, todays planes are built to handle severe turbulence.
I LOVE THE WAY THIS AMERICAN AIRLINES IS BACKING UP AND GETTING READY TO GO ON THE RUNWAY AND GET READY TO TAKEOFF FROM BOSTON AND GOING TO CHICAGO O HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND THAT IS A GOOD FLIGHT AND THAT MUST BE A FUN FLIGHT AND THAT IS WHY I LOVE JET PLANES BECAUSE THEY ARE SO COOL I MEAN THIS PLANE IS LANDING IN CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WHICH IS GOOD
This was taken with a phone?? Boy technology is really getting better..
Are you kidding me? I was on that plane!!! 4/7/12 maybe not that one but my departure was around 10-11ish AM. But I was heading to Chicago O'hare airport tho!!
Love this vid, going to Chicago from Boston on June 24 & coming back 2 Boston August 5, im only 14 going by myself & im really scared. I haven't been on a plane since I was 8!!
flying is great - don't be afraid, enjoy it.... safer than walking across the street. You'll probably be on a mainline flight (google it) with a crew that flies the same route every day.
how was it??
Love this video. I'm going to Logan airport to visit a friend who is landing at Logan for three hours before getting his connection flight to Iceland. I told him to enjoy the views of landing at Logan
Changed planes... no LA for me.. I live in SD.
I am going to see my friend in singapore in 4 months. This is my first time on a plane. Great video
I am so scared i never been on a airplane before and in june it will be my first ride. how bad is it?
I'm watching this because I'm so pumped to get on a plane and go to Florida! Great vid!
where this plane is going
Hi i be going on American Airlines to miami soon and i was wondering if you can help me
1. Is American Airlines good to travel
2. Do they takeoff on time and land on time
3. Are they flight attendants nice
4. Are they safe
5. Do you have any pointers cuz its going to be my first time flying and i dont wana panic cuz i am afraid of flying but i wana face my fears of flyin
Awesome, great video
for the startup/taxi, the phone was resting on the window ledge... for the takeoff, I held the phone just slightly away from the window on three fingers like a tripod (two fingers on bottom, one on top). If it touches the window the vibration makes the image shimmer.
KORD - Chicago O'Hare
Cool took exactly the same airline and live in boston what are the odds
I'm taking off from Logan to go to Portugal this Saturday. I'm exited!
Incidentally, this was my first time visiting Boston... Loved it!
Nice video! My favorite part about being on a plane is the Sea of Clouds!
Love your town... want to visit again soon...
I love flying in the old livery for some reason
Really good quality with your phone.
You went right over my house! That was a 27 departure.
amazing video bro congrats from mexico ;)
Nice vid bro!
"See how our friends from Delta are taking off..." I love how no matter what airline you fly for or fly on, it doesn't matter. One thing we all have in common is the love for flying.
Flying is awesome...
San Diego.
Yes... all of them. Motorola Atrix. With some help from Adobe Premiere.
1. They are Average
I'm leaving for Japan in three days and I can't wait just to be at the airport cuz of the planes :D
737-800
Which camera is this video recorded by? nice vid btw
it's a cell phone -- Motorola Atrix
How is it then so steady?
***** carefully holding it
Love the quality. Got footage on my ipod 5 the video quality absolutely sucks!! I hate AA but I had to fly it yesterday :(
Hey thanks! I knew this one was gonna be good while I was recording it. I could see the hotel where I stayed during my visit to Cambridge.
Actually a cell phone - Atrix, just held very carefully
Do these experienced 737 pilots make a lot?
Believe it or not, a Motorola Atrix smartphone... Video editing cleaned it up. For some reason it does a great job on airplane videos. I'm not complaining.
23F
