- Powerful thrust reduction! Condensation! Incredible Rolls Royce RB-211 engine sound! Watch as we depart from runway 08R and blast through the rain clouds and into the sun! Nice views of the Miami Metropolitan Area and the Florida Coastline! American Airlines First Class service! Flight 557 to Dallas-Fort Worth. 9/4/12.
The 757 is such an angry beast
Robert Muir it don’t play
The 767's Hot younger sister.
Yeah too bad they’re all being retired. This video is no where even close to full power for one of these rocket ships but they’ were fuel guzzlers
@@AlexLopez-tu7lo that's one way to look at it... I guess...
@@tritontransport still a goated plane
Still after 8 years one of the best takeoffs on TH-cam.
Strong roar…

Yes yes and yes
Every time I hear those engines at maximum power next to takeoff it gives me goosebumps... Just can't describe that feeling e.e
+BenderPY I love it too!
This video is so addictive, every once in a while I come here to enjoy it one more time :P
BenderPY agreed
"goosebumps"? hahaha...ridiculous.
same here!
Good old 757s getting it done.
I just flew on one from Newark to SFO really good plane the biggest single isle plane Boeing has built also super smooth landing not sure if that was the pilot or plane
It can climb straight to cruise altitude fully loaded to 45000 feet without leveling off to burn fuel and lighten up
The climb performance of the 757 always impresses me!
@Jeffrey Hinkel It's those RR engines I bet. I think they are.
@Jeffrey Hinkel Confused? Don't worry about it.
Jeffery Hinkel you fuck off.
It doesn't matter where you sit on a 757, you're gonna have a first-class experience. She's the best hot-rod in the skies.
I love the 757. Flew on it last year.
@@jesspeoples3292 going on one next week
It was great, smooth, seemed to accelerate very fast, different noise than other commercial airliners I've been on recently. Seats a bit tight, but the main thing is a safe flight and we got there no problem and it was smooth.
managed to fly on the 757-300 variant from england to iceland and on the way back the -200 variant :D but i was at the back so i didn't hear the engines :I
Its the most powerful airplane for its weight.
This is the best RB-211 757 T/O EVER!That thrust reduction really hit the sweet note!
Thanks! I love it too! I appreciate the comment!
exactly! I’m gonna have to admit this is one of my favourite takeoffs!
Forreal.
It's 2016, It's like my 20th time watching this, and still excited.
raykrislianggi re-watch several more times. I know I will.
I’m watching this in 2020
Relatable lol

Absolutely loving that thrust reduction sound.
I honestly have always been fascinated by the sound of the RB211s on the 757. Just a great combo, no?
I heard the same sound on another plane on my way to Cancun.... don't rede, ber what it was but I think we flew on airbus.... that sound is very very distinct though
@@drovid008 Airbus never used the RB211. Only the 757,767,747 and L-1011
Fly, an A320 long-range amazing power performance, take off glue you to seats feel thrust in your chest.
0:12 awesome start.
0:19 best engine sound ever.

Even the sound looks like the 737 Next Generation engines.
GE-90 best sounding engine in the world

@@muharvi how can you say a sound looks like. Anyway the engine in my opinion sounds like an Airbus A320
WOW! I have always LOVED the RB211 engines- for this reason! The sound is so authentic.
That's the most epic thrust reduction I've ever heard!! Just an incredible takeoff video!
Nothing beats the sound of a RB211 at full throttle.
This just does not ceases to amaze me- The achievements of mankind...WOW!!!!!
Airplanes are incredible! Glad you liked the video! Thanks for the comment!
The old RB-211's furiously trying to swallow their own rage. They became such a glorious engine.
Amazing engine sound-goosebumps!-as if saying, "I'm OUTTA here, rain or shine". The transition from downpour to sunshine and cotton clouds is icing on the cake, and divine. Fantastic video!
Love the first 25 seconds. Best takeoff sound ever.
Love this bird! Distinctive engine noise. I lived under the flight path in Palm Beach and didn't even have to look when they came over. The engine sound is that distinctive.
The engines are so OP for this aircraft. Love it!
Planes > cars....This sound is priceless....
obvs
I love the sound between 0:10-0:25.
757 with Rolls Royce engines is the best combination ever. They rock together!
Just the sound of those RB211's at continuous climb, is marvellous. As others here have commented, nothing better. The videoing is first rate also. A pleasure to watch. Thankyou.
This is my favorite take off video. The engine sound is so amazing and so is the Miami scenery.
Love the sound. Pure, pure power from those engines. Keep 'email coming!
Glad you liked it so much! Thank you for the comment!
That high-pitched scream from 0.20 ~ onwards is almost orgasmic.
Wow what a beautiful video and unusual scenario! Very nice :D
Lol funny to see you here! Hello good sir!
Wow. Can't believe seeing a comment from you from 7 years ago.
The 757 is a magnificent high performance plane. I first flew in one in 1988 and always happy to travel in one
I hope they stay around for a long time, for they are truly great! I love flying on the 757! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Amazing RB211 sound!!!
This is seriously one of the most awesome videos on TH-cam simply due to the soundtrack 🙏 this is my looped night-time sleep track!
the buzzing sound is a classic 757 sound
blades spinning faster than the speed of sound
Its common on all jets, although I wouldn't consider it a problem
It's certainly not a problem....
And i should edit and say its really audible on the RB211 engines and its not super audible on other airplanes. Some A330s have a deep growl and i do hear it from some 319s and 320s but its faint
I love it when the clouds are so spread apart and scattered at different levels! It's so beautiful!
Glad you liked it! You'll see a lot of that in Southern Florida! Thanks for the comments today!
Well that was a historic video. Wow, the sounds of those Rb211's is incomparable. Add to that the gorgeous scenery and quality and well... you get another awesome Mah584jr video.
Thanks man! Glad you liked the video! I appreciate the comment!
Wow amazing video! Faved and subscribed! Thanks!
Love your vid Noel!!!!!
Almost 3 and a half years later and this still remains my favourite takeoff vid on TH-cam. Absolutely incredible from start to finish. And that thrust reduction is epic.......plain and simple.
+turbofanlover I'm really glad to have captured it and glad you like it so much too! I knew it would be special as soon as I filmed it! Thanks for the comment and feel free to continue watching it as much as you like!

it is great! The RB211s never cease to impress me!
Check this GE90 thrust reduction as well. #Cheers from #DHAviation th-cam.com/video/C5dIrEYmqPI/w-d-xo.html
Years ago, I used to fly every week from LA up to Eatontown NJ to help straighten out a problem with a company that was making a generator for us. Always flew AA 757. Never worried a bit whenever we blasted up thru the winter storm clouds -- rain, snow, sleet -- it didn't matter. Those RB211 engines basically made the 757 overpowered -- and one of the safest airplanes to fly. But there was more to the 757 than that. Pilots LOVED flying the 757. It was a real 'pilot's airplane'.... that was nice to know, also..!
Nice video and I love the sound of those engines. I remember climbing out through many South Florida rainstorms in a variety of aircraft. Some of my most memorable flights were on the venerable 727. Love that aircraft.
+AD77 I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
I'll be sad to see this aircraft retire. Phenomenal video and sound!
Awesome take off. They really climbed quickly at first. Love the 757!
We take flying for granted but this reminded me that launching thousands of pounds of metal into the air safely with hundreds of people hanging on is truly a miracle. Nice video, thanks for sharing.
It is amazing! Glad you liked the video so much!
I am #2600, can't understand a thumbs down on this spectacular video. This is the best departure I've seen so far! Good job.
Still the best of all take off videos.
typical florida, you can go from rainstorm to sunny in 10 seconds
great video, btw
Yeah, that happens a lot, especially in the summer! Glad you liked the video!
oh i know. everyday in florida its 90 degress and 90% humidity with those puffy thunderstorm clouds in the distance. basically every day in florida, and a lot up north too!
Like Ireland, where you could get all 4 seasons on one hour ha ha
@@mah584jr is this a B752 or a B753?
Simply the best sound on and above the planet!
God I love that sound!
Each and every take off still gives me goosebumps when sitting inside the airplane, what a trust and power.
It is a wonderful video. Very great. Full impressive. The same situation I had many years ago with Pan Am 727-21 and Delta 757 take off. Thanks very much for your good videos.

From spool up to rotate, that was one of the fastest takeoffs I’ve ever seen in a commercial airplane. Fantastic. Starting out in the rain, breaking through the clouds, that spine tingling sound of the engines. A tour de force aviation video. Well done. I know it’s an older post, but I just found it and it’s me new favorite.
For me the Boeing 757 is the airplane that gives the most incredible sound!!!! Really love this video!!!
Wow. That is just beautiful when it makes a break for clear skies.
Yeah, at first I was surprised we were even taking off! Then we emerged from the rainstorm!
The best flight video on youtube.
That's really kind of you to say! I'm truly glad you enjoy the video so much! Thank you for your comment!
that spool up is truly incredible. several different whining noises, then the growl as it helps the 57 punch through the storm
One of the best spool-ups I've ever heard... good job!
It was a great one! Glad you liked it too! Thank you for the comment!
Yup, I love how you can hear all 3 shafts spooling up separate
I like to watch these videos with ambient music playing behind. It's an amazing release and experience sensually
I just love the sound of American Jet Fuel Being Burnt!
I get goose bumps EVERY time I watch this, and I've watched it 100 times in the last day!
Such a gorgeous engine
RIP American 757s. You will be missed!!
Promptly added to my favorites list.
The RB211 is such a menacing sounding engine. A few seconds before full spool, you hear how bad they want to come alive. Then that magnificent spool and the resounding whine.
THAT PLANE GOT A WASH AND DRY
Yes it did!
***** free by mother nature
This is one of my favourite videos of yours, the spool up sound is phenomenal, thanks for an excellent job!
amazing roar!
+macpan2 Glad you liked it! Thanks for the comment!
Meoooooo
The engine power droped at 11 seconds till 14 seconds. I thought the pilot was pulling the levers all the way back. That scared me. Great Video, deserves a like man. Great Job.
1:13 though ♥ cant beat a 757! Neither can you beat the sweet music of an rb-211 at full throttle!
It's the best!
Ain't nothing like hearing those Rolls engines scream to takeoff thrust followed by the growl as climb thrust is set.......awesome.
I agree, it's awesome! Glad you liked it too!
This video delivers what it promises. 10/10, would recommend.
Wow, that plane has so much power, the pilot is decreasing throttle on climb and its still climbing fast.
+kdubb 81 The 757 has the best thrust to weight ratio in the commercial aviation world!
Better ride on one before they stop flying them. The airlines will probably replace them with A321's. I got to ride on a 727 and that plane hauled! I rode on a 757 about 20 years ago, but I don't remember any powerful takeoffs, but I do remember a turbulent flight, lol.
The RB211's were aggressive at a thrust like that!!! 😲
i can only imagine what a 737 pilot feels when taking off the first time as pilot in comand flying one of these beauties, with all that thrust, amazing jet one of a kind the 757
Those RB-211s purr like kittens ! I timed a 757 take off once. It was a mostly empty flight and flying only a short distance (Chicago to Cleveland or something like that). The takeoff roll from max power to wheels up took just 17 seconds ! The 757 has the highest thrust / weight ratio among commercial airplanes I believe.
Yeah, it's an awesome plane! I enjoy flying on it every chance I get!
The Spool up is probably the best iv ever heard, there's no other engine on this planet that sounds like the Rolls Royce RB211 - its very distinctive.
Yeah, the spool up was awesome in this takeoff! Yeah, I'm able to recognize the RB-211 without even seeing it! Glad you liked the video! Thank you for your comment!
Great video. The 757 with RB-211engines was a combination made in heaven. What a beast.
Gotta love the 757. IMO only RR models are real 757's. F--k the PW's.
I think both are excellent, but I do prefer the RR as well!
Couldn't agree more, Pratts are a MX nightmare. Actually RR RB211-535E4 set the world record for on wing time with no heavy MX for a commercial engine. Something like 52000 hours. 3 compressor stages too, serious think power behind that engine!
Didn't know that! Impressive!
EXACTLY!
@@mah584jr so why is your profile pic a PW2000 then lol
Insane rotation! Such a beast.
That sound's not annoying at all...;)
+Robert Diaz
You should hear a B777-300ER's engines on a full thrust take off. 180,000+ pounds of thrust pushing you and this big piece of metal into the sky at over 200 mph sounds beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
+Mastacheifa 118: It's 115,000+ lbf of thrust actually which is the largest of all Turbofans (and Jet-Engines in general). They are GE90-115B1 and single engine produces greater thrust then Titanic's engine (@ 46,000 hp ~ 30,000 lbf) and first Mercury-Redstone rocket engine (@ 78,000 lbf) combined.
what a take off! I love the 757s and this vid is a present to all aviation fans
Man, The only things I love more than the RR Olympus Engines would have to be these things. Goodness, This has been repeated many times. Great video!
When the RB-211's hit that perfect pitch, there's not a sound that can match it in the world! Glad you liked the video! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Ahhh, those engines sound...
Yep, the RR are fantastic!
Rolls Royce is what made the P-51 famous.
good lord, impressive sound !
Man, I've heard a lot of engines in my time roar at takeoff.
757 always wins.
hmm 35 year old technology defeating today's problems amazing simply
Pretty much one of the best planes we had at delta airlines and when I worked at us airways also always loved the 757 and the first class section too also inside the aircraft was the magic carpet for loading the airplane made it a lot easier. I’ll forever miss working with the 757
Gotta love that 140-50kt window wiper!!
wow what an energy,in love with those engines and A/C.
They're both awesome! Glad you liked the video so much! Thanks for the comment!
Bring back the 757 and scrap the 737 max crap.
GREAT FOOTAGE AND OF COURSE SOUND,A TRUE MASTER OF THE SKIES---757
GOOSE BUMPS when they pushed the throttle all the way...........
Ah, just listen to those Rollers sing baby! By far the best sounding engines ever! Swear to god I almost wet myself listening to that!
high performance take off, outstanding!!!
Rocket sound!
I live in Miami, Florida I get a lot of those rainstorms and thunderstorms but its worth living through them.
That thrust reduction though!! haha
Final Approach Aviation I would crap myself thinking the worst
Dramatic skies and sound, thank you for posting.
Ahhh yes, the sweet sound of TO/GA on a single aisle rocket ship, possibly one of the sweetest sounds you'll ever hear!
Yeah, it's pretty rare and totally awesome! Glad you liked it too!
I agree. This is the BEST video of a 757 take-off I've ever seen also. The sound is incredible.!! Wonderful.!! Thanks for sharing
Boeing 757, worked on them for years at JFK for AA. Very reliable & versatile aircraft. I can see them going another 10+ years with the right care and interior upgrades ....
+eyestoenvy I sure hope that's the case!
