  • Coming from popular demand! A video tour of Oak Island as been asked by many! I was planning on doing a voice over version of this, but I tried to do it with what I have currently available to me, ie: Iphone 11 Pro/Pc with headphones and mic, and it just wasn't very good at all! So I decided to go with this version. I really hope you enjoy it, it is mainly for the people that dont know that much about what they are looking at in my previous videos to help give them some idea what they are looking at. Even I before going to Oak Island myself and observing it in person really didn't have the island the right way in my mind.
I believe this will be the final video I will be making of Oak Island for 2020, but that doesnt mean you wont see content on this channel! I will be working everyday on new content for you the viewers! I know you all want a (Behind the Scenes) so to speak of The Curse of Oak Island. So this spring I will be going to the island as soon as the fellowship gets there! I will be doing interviews with the crew of The Curse of Oak Island, and any neighbors near by that wants to participate! I want to give you the best content I can!
So that being said, if anybody has any great ideas, make sure you let me know in the comment section! Make sure to LIKE the video if you enjoyed it. And also make sure to Subscribe to the channel! This is only the first year for me making these videos for you, so I am just learning as I go! Things will get better with time, and I get making revenue off these videos to buy better gear, and better software for editing!
Also if anybody wants to support the channel other then likes, subscribing, and sharing. You can E-transfer me anything you would like at, Cotecband2009@gmail.com. Also if you feel like mailing me anything interesting for the videos, or just anything at all my mailing address is, P.O Box 1485, Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Canada. Postal Code B0T1K0.
    Thanks for watching!
    Take care, and happy holidays!
    Jeremy!

Excellent video! I agree with the way you did it by labeling the specific areas. Did you notice that at Smith's Cove you can see underwater structures/workings. The water is very clear. With steadily-rising sea levels as stated by the Geological Survey of Canada, these structures/workings were high and dry between one and two thousand years ago. You asked for feedback/ideas in your above Notes. Did you get a chance to look at that Mahone Bay nautical chart that I included in my previous 'Comment' on your recent video? Personally, I do not like these online charts as they are nearly impossible to read on a large monitor with a desktop computer and would be absolutely impossible to read when looking at them with a SmartPhone. I am old-school and I adhere to the old fashioned paper nautical charts that I can spread out on a wheelhouse counter/table and examine or do bearings, etc.... For what it's worth and on my desktop computer, it is impossible to discern the listed water depths on the chart which are in metres. I will have to purchase a hard copy of the chart from NOAA in order to accurately read them. This chart is interesting. The closest deepest water adjacent to Oak Island appears to be at Smith's Cove. Additionally, there is a sharp drop off and deep water just past Smith's Cove around towards Joudrey's Cove, but again I can't read the depths listed on the chart. One interesting observation I made is that Apple Island was clearly much larger in ancient times than it currently is, given that sea levels in that area have been rising at approximately 30 centimetres (12 inches) every one hundred years. Even more interesting, there is an elongated ridge of rather shallow water that extends in the direction of Smith's Cove from Apple Island. This tells me that at one time in history long, long ago, Oak island and Apple Island might have been connected by dry land! QUESTION: Would you be able to find out from the locals who owns Apple Island? I cannot find that information anywhere on the Internet. ANOTHER QUESTION: Where did they get all the small boulders that are now placed on both sides of the causeway and also along the beachfront near the swamp? I assume that is recent construction. Thank you for your great Oak Island videos and Sorry so Lengthy! --- John

Hey John, thanks for the great long comment! Really enjoy these. And I’m not sure who owns Apple island, or where they got the small boulders from at the causeway or by the beach swamp area. Most likely brought them in from a quarry. There is many quarry’s near by. And what you have been saying about the dept charts of Mahone bay I haven’t looked into yet. But that gives me an idea for this spring/summer to rent a boat in mahone bay and make my own dept chart for recent data! I’m sure many people would be interested in knowing. I could make up a complete map of the waters around oak island, and also near by islands. Then could compare that to past data.
Thanks John, any other things you can think of just let me know! Always interested in your ideas, interests, and questions!

@@JerrsAerialPhotographyVlogs Sorry for the delay in responding. Thanks for your 'Reply'. Me having never been to Nova Scotia, I appreciate you telling me about the quarries in that region and other things about Oak island and vicinity. This is a learning experience for me. Regarding that marine nautical chart I found online, I have ordered the paper chart (hard copy) of it from a local marine supply store here in Toronto that I was referred to by NOAA ("National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration"). In my opinion, the old fashioned paper charts are much easier to work with than the ones on a computer screen. The Mahone Bay chart has to be ordered from a government entity and it will take at least two weeks for me to receive it. I will keep you informed. The chart is actually inexpensive and you can order it for yourself, either online or from that store I am dealing with. You can order nautical charts from anywhere in the Western Hemisphere as well as overseas from that store here in T.O..! As for what you said about renting a boat and going out in Mahone Bay to do depth soundings, don't overextend yourself because the equipment required is quite expensive and not all boats are equipped with good depth recorder equipment. The Mahone Bay nautical chart is up-to-date and accurate and is prepared by the Canadian Hydrographic Service which is part of the Canadian Federal government. This particular nautical chart is used for marine navigation in the Mahone Bay region and can be trusted. According to the Geological Survey of Canada (circa 1990's), sea levels in that region are steadily rising at the rate of 30 centimetres (12 inches) every one hundred years so you don't have to worry about depth soundings that would differ from what is on the nautical chart. If anything, water depths would constantly change "slightly" with high and low tides. You should consider getting that nautical chart for yourself and as I say, KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! If you would like to correspond by email, give me your email address and i can send you specifics on the nautical chart catalogue number and the name of the store in Toronto that is getting the chart for me. I will have specific questions for you about Oak Island that would be best suited for private email. Interestingly, I recently asked Hammerson Peters a basic question about the H-O stone and he didn't have the answer! I was really surprised! That is the second time I have asked him an Oak Island question that he didn't have an answer for. Nonetheless, his video reviews and in-depth analysis is EXCELLENT. I do have one question that I will ask you and it ties in to the elongated strip of sea bottom that extends out from Apple island towards Smith's Cove. I am completely unfamiliar with the topography up there in the general vicinity of Oak island and you might have a better perspective on the following: Recalling the "bump out" that was constructed at Smith's Cove when the coffer dam was in place, if one draws an imaginary line straight out from the "bump out" into the bay, does that line intersect with Apple Island or Frog Island??? If it intersects with Apple Island, that will explain the elongated submerged ridge that extends out from Apple island on the nautical chart. Again, KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! I can't seem to figure the preceding out not knowing that area and I'm not sure exactly where the "bump out" was in relation to Smith's Cove. I didn't mean for this 'Comment' to turn into a marathon, but I approach Oak Island analytically in many ways. --- John (Toronto)

@@JerrsAerialPhotographyVlogs UPDATE: I got your message regarding watching the TV episodes and how the episode was taken down due to copyright. If you succeed in uploading the episodes in a particular website, please message me directly at my TH-cam account and let me know how I can watch them as I do not have cable TV. Thanks! Also, my Mahone Bay marine nautical paper chart is on its way to me, coming from the Canadian government to the store down at Harbourfront. Now I'll have a full overview of the Mahone Bay region with accurate water depths. I'll let you know when I receive it. Finally, I answered my question regarding the Smith's Cove coffer dam 'bump out'. An imaginary line drawn straight out from it would intersect Frog Island. --- John
