  • I took my drone on a first flight over Oak Island, Nova Scotia. This is where the VERY famous show, The Curse of Oak Island is filmed! Actually if you look very carefully you can actually see two film crews hard at work filming for The Curse of Oak Island Season 8!!
    Sit back and enjoy this long video.
    Music is by Kyle Keller, off the album; All it does is rain.
    Drone footage is by myself, as well as the editing done by me.

    Thanks for this great video. I hope you'll zoom in on the buildings next time. There are so many! And you showed Fred Nolan's property and buildings. I've been curious about that for years.

    Still less recaps, fillers and commercials than the actual show.

    Would love to "enjoy the long video", but i'm getting stressed seeing that too quick and sudden movements of the gimbal...what about some soft and properly flown sequences...soft moves...

      No problem! I will be doing update videos once a month on activity on the island. I have always had a big interest in oak island, even before the history channel made the show. But when the Curse of Oak Island came on the history channel it just kept that fire for oak island going. Now that I got a drone, and live within driving distance to go visit the island, I figured that I could take the drone and go look around the island with it (since its private property, and nobody's allowed on the island without permission) and there's no laws that say you cant fly over any private property. So I get to see the island changing every month for myself, and since I have a TH-cam channel I thought it would only be fair to share with the rest of the world!

    I've never understood why they don't just dig an open cut mine on the money pit site. If there's anything down there, they will find it eventually.

    • @JerrsAerialPhotographyVlogs
      @JerrsAerialPhotographyVlogs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Music Islife they already tried that. Back in a 1960s one of the previous people had that same idea. It didn’t work either. They got down to about 140 feet deep with a huge bucket crane and then the ocean water started pouring into the hole from the flood tunnels. The whole open pit started collapsing into itself within hours. Then they had to fill in the huge hole. The whole reason they can’t get to the treasure is because of water. That’s been the problem since the first person found the money pit in 1795.

      Jerrs Epic Vlogs yes, I am aware of that but they didn't really dig a proper tiered, open cut hole. They just dug a big hole in the ground! A proper, spiral cut mine or hole will not cave in. It may still fill with water but that can be dealt with at the time. The digging process may even reveal the source of the water and allow them to block it off. It's got to be worth a try, cause what they have been doing clearly isn't working.

      Music Islife They are going to be doing the ice ring thing next I believe. I’m guessing that’s why all they did this summer was drill pretty much I believe.

    • @officialWWM
      @officialWWM 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jerrs Epic Vlogs that sounds interesting. What is the ice ring thing?

    • @JerrsAerialPhotographyVlogs
      @JerrsAerialPhotographyVlogs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Music Islife they are going to drill a bunch of holes about 200 feet deep in a circle about 100-200 feet wide and then pump coolant down the holes until the water and the ground is frozen solid in side the whole circle. Then they don’t have the water problem that has been the whole cause of problems lol it will be solid ice!

      Christine Bogers the drone I use is the DJI Mavic Air 2. It’s an excellent drone for just about everything. It can tackle high winds, has up to a 10 km range, and can fly up to 35 mins on a battery.

    Can anyone just come onto the island? They must get a lot of tourists turn up?

    • @JerrsAerialPhotographyVlogs
      @JerrsAerialPhotographyVlogs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a bunch of signs coming down the road to the causeway to the island that says, Private Property, no admittance unless authorized. So basically if you cross the causeway you have to be either a resident, or part of the crew, or special invitation from the land owners. Not sure how well it is enforced if you do just drive over on the island. I didn't want to find out! lol But they cant do anything for flying over it!

      dmtho yeah you need to either pay for a ticket to go on a tour of the island, or are just really special or lucky to have one of the land owners invite you to the island. It’s basically the same as if your house was famous and people thought they could just come to your yard and walk around while your outside enjoying your private property lol
