A few years ago I had a plant medicine experience where I saw this creature that was quite large in stature and with it's hands it was controlling what looked like a matrix field that moved like an ocean in waves. He was in the middle of it and the matrix field was made up of glowing lines fashioned in a grid that moved with the wavy motion of the creature's hands. Years later I got a very strong feeling in my heart and the word Demiurge was in my consciousness. I decided to do some research and I realised that it was a very great probability that what I had seen in my experience was the Demiurge. It had a serpent-like body and a kind of Chinese lion face with a crest surrounding it's head! This literally blew me away and what makes sense to me nowadays is that we are living in a simulation created by some intelligence the ancients called the Demiurge!

Wonderful. I was looking into Saturnian cults and astrology when I encountered Demiurge. That took me into Greek philosophy and *voila* here I am. This blows everything I read about Demiurge away. Now I have to look into Gnosticism (the rabbit hole never ends!!) I wonder if jean Baudrillard, the Arch-Priest of Postmodernism ever encountered Demiurge. It fits his ideas about culture so well. And of course, his theories inspired The Matrix which, now that I think of it, you remember those killer robots that hunted the humans in Zion? Those ‘Sentinels‘ looked awfully like snakes with lion heads. "Guards of the simulation world". It all connects. Defeat them and you reconvene with the ‘true‘ world, whatever that is. The stuff about a mournful Sophia, distraught over the fate of humans in the Demiurge world taking the name ‘Los‘ which no doubt relates to ‘Logos‘ and entering our world to leave us a trail back to the Monad is the stuff of Hollywood. Beautiful concept!! Anyway, thank you for connecting some dots in my research.

head of a snake being a lion, which was used to depict the apex predator, you can find the elite and ruling classes using symbols of predators or even carrion feeders, like egypt, with it's jackals, hyenas, and vultures, scavengers, the snake could also represent the circle of life, the snake eating it's own tail, the part that eats is the head/predator, the tail being the prey, there is a tradition in a certain religion where they eat the head of an animal, usually a fish, on a certain feast to symbolize them being the head and not the tail, it's why some people call the "ruling elite" types the "predator class", when you see it this way, you can see why this is the image of the evil samael/yaldobaoth or whatever

As I was exiting Christianity, I was beginning to have an inkling that the Christian God and Satan were two sides of the same coin, and that Jesus and Lucifer were, in a way, different manifestations of the same person. Seeing this creature with the lion's head (often associated with God) as well as a serpent's body (associated with Satan) and having it give the First Commandment as if it were the Christian God is some fun confirmation that I wasn't the first Christian to think this way. The demiurge is now definitely going on my list of favorite mythical creatures.

This is a helpful intro to this topic, thank you. The more I look into Gnosticism the more sense it makes.. and the less sense mainstream religion makes. It is dfficult at first though to come to terms with the realization that the creator (of matter) turns out - according to these teachings - to be something quite different than our religions would have us believe. So I can understand why some people really struggle with it, and why the mainstream is so terrified of this "heresy".
It wasn’t Sophia who planted the spark directly. It was Yldbaoth who did it out of ignorance: as a Monad creation himself, being son of Sophia, he had already the spark within him. Sophia just tricked him into blowing it inside the first human when he was complaining the his creation was not alive.
With the idea of God being The One, and the thought experiment of "What would you do if you were The One and had infinite time on your hand?" leading me to want to say "experience infinite experiences", I can't help but wonder if God/Monad allowed the creation of the Demiurge and the material world for the sake of the experience of Redemption. For instance, if you had a simulation machine that could do anything and create any experience, after a while, would one not choose the challenging uphill climb in contrast to the simple and effortless experiences? Sort of like playing video games that you win easily don't fulfill as much as overcoming the challenging ones. Even in human culture we see a fascination with action games and movies as compared to those of no conflict or fulfilling reward at the end. Thoughts anyone?
I think you’re pretty much on the money there! We want a challenge that will stretch us and test us but maybe not actually break us on the wheel of suffering. We don’t want to get LOSt in our suffering but rather learn from it what we ourselves are all about?
@@PaulusAlone Rising above the challenge is perhaps the purest form of humanity questioning it's own existence. It persists to succeed at finding a solution for it's problem, and yet, why? Why continue to conquer the challenge if it's easier to ignore it altogether? "Why do I exist?" Thus puzzling the human brain and leading to the creation of religious explanations to make the mind cope and feel like it has solved this ultimate question. Or, maybe not. Who knows? Sorry to get super deep on a random comment lol.

I've always seem the Lion faced serpent as a representation of the the houses of sun and moon, being lion the sun obvs, and serpent the moon since serpents always been linked to the moon by Vishnu, the great astronomer, and his five headed serpent is a symbol for the 5 phases of the moon - this allegory comes from the serpentining movement the moon does around the earth. Back in 1991, a luminous cloud formed in my room and then an entity with a doggish lion-like face and a serpentine body came out of it. It was the only time in my life that I had such a visual event. The entity looked just like the image at the beginning of this video...it is not a symbol...it is a graphic of something real. As a child, I was baptized Greek Orthodox, later attended a Methodist Sunday school and a Roman Catholic youth group. I had no knowledge of Gnosticism until 2019. There is more to the story of my encounter with the Demiurge/Chnoubis/Yaldabaoth/Abraxas, but it is not something I can fit in this comment section. There are definitely realms beyond this world of time and matter.

one of the first things I encountered early in my spiritual journey was the demiurge's (Beliefs demanding worship as god), and the monad (an omni mind that all minds are part of),with visions I have had the demiurge and the monad are the best descriptors especially for my early visions/out of body experiences.

Is the Demiurge the same as YHVH that we invoke when we perform Magick? I've recently started practicing High Magick, but now I'm so confused about it. I know that when we vibrate YHVH we are referring to the God inside of us and the archangels answer because they see the divine in us. But what if the archangels are mistaking us for the Demiurge that also created the archangels? 😂 I read somewhere that the Demiurge is some kind of monstrous God and he is also the same God of the abrahamic religions. Some kind of spiritual criminal. Maybe I'm taking the myth too seriously, but I'm really confused now.
I tend to think YHWH is the demiurge. Claiming himself to be the only god, when he's obviously from a polytheistic pantheon? YHWH in the bible is actually pretty much described like a dragon or a serpentine being. I guess whether he's bad or good depends on how you see this material universe.
@@subliminalmuse This is all incredibly interesting from my perspective because I'm personally Atheist but I've always felt that if there was a God he'd be some sort of evil entity/being due to all the suffering that happens within our own world. So now seeing that an entire religion exists around the concept of believing in the Christian God, but instead viewing him as an evil entity is fascinating to me. And it's called the Demiurge.
This is my main block doing the LBRP and QC and I feel resistant to progressing it. I believe that yes, that angry jerk in the Old Testament is indeed YHVH and who the Gnostics refer to as the demiurge. I like the LBRP and have been doing it for a few months, but, sometimes I can’t shake this idea of YHVH as a big fat tantruming a*hole like Trump, stomping about and being generally mean. Once while doing the QC and imagining the divine light, I got a sense of this light being false and it occluded the true divine light and I thought afterwards that one should try and see past it into the true light, but perhaps the demiurge is all we can cope with, because are we not that ourselves? Cranky, mean, angry and me me me? As we are in manifestation and have taken form, our purpose is to see past the demiurge to the source, we need to transcend. Sorry, rambling perhaps...
@@alphacraig2001 the thing is. we are basically biological machines that perceive things certain ways. For instance what you call suffering is only suffering because you need to know when you are suffering or you would die. life is not about being happy and that makes people angry. It just feels good to be happy,. but the fact is you cannot exist without your suffering, we simply would have never survived if we fed outselves to predators with smiles on our faces. (this doesnt make some "god" evil or something just because if there was one it gave you the means to survive but you dont enjoy it as much as you perceive that you deserve) Another point i should make is that technology has changed the standard for happiness. alot of people invent their own suffering because they think they deserve the modern world, and are used to it. this modern bubble we live in isnt actually a life we are designed to live. what alot of people call suffering today would be insanely laughable to more natural beings who didnt have ridiculous standards of living. the way i see it, everyone alive has been offered the chance to experience a material existence, and you can leave any time you want. everyone is free to do so. i personally choose to embrace the experience by studying nature and replicating that in my own life, and of course i experience very little suffering. im rarely around technology. i have a large legacy. i eat naturally. and i live mostly off the land. im not saying this is easy for everyone because some rich assholes have roped us into a bunch of addictive crap that will surely lead to our demise. But do what you can to gain a proper environment for a human based on what breed you are and where your people come from, and you will find somehow all of the problems start melting away. its a life of peace, honestly. TLDR: suffering is required. Theres no entity to blame. people can leave whenever they want. I recommend staying though.
7:18 matter and spirit matter is evil spirit is good. So the fruit that Adam and Eve truly ate was the knowledge of Good and evil or the knowledge of spirit and matter
@Joejoejoe Thy wilt everything in this world is duality. However I do not think that is what was meant. Understanding the difference between spirit and matter gives man the true nature of reality and the power to alter it on the subatomic level.
Nice video! It seems, however, that the translation for ''demiurge'' as ''creator'' is a common misconception. The name is in fact originated from the words ''Demos'' (people) and ''Ourgos'', or ''Worker'' and came from a public (hence demos) position similar to that of a magistrate in ancient greece. The name was likely chosen in keeping with the political theme of the name ''Archon'', another political position in Greece. It is theorized that the vilification of such terms stems from an inherent anti-establishment nature of gnostic teachings and ethos, an anarchistic tradition. Heh! Interesting about the dandelions looking like the Demiurge, and that's awful about the farming, I'm so sorry... 😕 Fat is the name of the protagonist in Valis. Horselover Fat to be precise. Philip literally means 'loves horses' (philo hippo), and 'dick' is German for 'fat', so Philip K. Dick uses the name to distance himself from this mentally troubled character he writes about in this semi-autobiography.
Who might be the most hated man in the whirled right now? I'd put money on vax master Gates. A dick? Certainly. Probably stole FAT 32 from IBM or somewhere else. Appears to love horses. Yes, history and the Bible grow increasingly interesting once they have been rejoined with their roots. This is not popular knowledge, it has been forcibly suppressed, and there is well founded reason why this is so. (The demiurge is what we now commonly call "the ego"; it's quite significant to recognize them as two descriptions of the self-same cosmic mistake)
Interesting synopsis. At your reference; I've started reading Valis. A good read so far! Seems quite applicable. I loved Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. I can recommend Cows, Pigs, Wars and Witches by Marvin Harris for a Philosophical viewpoint. Thanks for the attentive video!

This lines up with the metaphysics of A Course in Miracles, a modern text dictating the words of Christ. In that text the Ego is synonymous with the Demiurge. Far from simply being a personal construct, the ego is explained as transpersonal, something that pursues us beyond the grave, and what creates and sustains this illusory world of time and space. God knows not of this world, it being like a private dream where God can enter not, a dream of separation. This understanding of reality goes a long way to make sense of the absurdity and cruelty of this world.
This gives a different meaning to the song Sympathy for the Devil, uh? "How tedious were he fit to comprehend! himself and more this our noble element, of fire in nature love in spirit unkenned!" Teaching humanity how painful matter is since the start of time. Oh! And a different meaning to Blacke's Red Dragon! Didn't know he was Gnostic!
There are contradictions in the limited 4 gospels that make up the modern New Testament are there not? Which one is right? They all tell us part of a truth and therefore are all ‘right enough’ if you get my meaning? We must be aware of how easily these spiritual writings can be dragged down into that demiurge realm of dogma. Dogma of course is literally “amgod” backwards. We get LOSt so easily... ; )

Wonderful. I was looking into Saturnian cults and astrology when I encountered Demiurge. That took me into Greek philosophy and *voila* here I am. This blows everything I read about Demiurge away. Now I have to look into Gnosticism (the rabbit hole never ends!!)
I wonder if jean Baudrillard, the Arch-Priest of Postmodernism ever encountered Demiurge.

VALIS is such a mindbending read
How so ?

Plus, being the head one house and the body the other, you can further put Yaldabaoth as the Rahu and Ketu dragon in the vedic astrology aswell

The entity looked just like the image at the beginning of this video...it is not a symbol...it is a graphic of something real. There is more to the story of my encounter with the Demiurge/Chnoubis/Yaldabaoth/Abraxas, but it is not something I can fit in this comment section. 😂
I read somewhere that the Demiurge is some kind of monstrous God and he is also the same God of the abrahamic religions.
Yhvh and Yaldabaoth and dimurge are the same ye same as enlil enki etc all about the the sun.

800th like 👍🏻 interesting journey, similar path to mine.
"How tedious were he fit to comprehend! himself and more this our noble element, of fire in nature love in spirit unkenned!"

Oh! And a different meaning to Blacke's Red Dragon! Didn't know he was Gnostic!
The theology of the demiurge seems to me to be at sharp odds with Christian theology. How do you reconcile the two ?
They can’t both be right.
