    Oh How times have changed, People are complaining about Vibes on Triumph and appreciating no Vibes on RE.

      I think that has do do with general perception of these brands. Triumph is know for big smooth engines and they first time launched a single cylinder so obviously it'll have more vibs compared to big bikes.
      RE has always been making vibrating engines. This is the first time they went with short stroke liquid cooled engine. So if you compare it with any other RE it definitely is going to feel smoother!
      But keep in mind, people have not yet compared these 2 bikes head to head.

      Vibrations are taken as emotions and legacy by RE fans.😂 just bcz RE didn't hve technology to mitigate excessive vibrations in past ,their die hard fans misunderstood it to be the great invention and legacy.. they cry if vibrations are absent. 😂

    Summary of Yudhvir and Abhinav's 1 hour movie:
    1. Colour looks premium (top spec matt white)
    2. 845 mm seat isn't as problamatic as you'd think and adjusting it is also easier (Tiger-esque method)
    3. OEM accessories like top plate, pannier stays, bash plate, radiator grill seem to be of good quality and really complement the bike in its aesthetics
    4. Instrument cluster is beautiful
    5. It's very planted, thanks to its weight
    6. Suspension is just spectacular, doesn't bottom-out at all. However, if we had options to adjust it then it would have been better
    7. It doesn't feel loose. Only sound Yudhvir could hear during the trail ride was the centre-stand recoil
    8. Able to enjoy more (speaking from big bike perspective). Not too heavy and enough power to pierce through everything
    9. Roomy front as well as rear seat. Thanks to the European audience
    10. Economy around 30 kmpl when ridden like 'chech-this-out'
    11. Sixth is an overdrive gear. 149 kph on 5th gear and then engine performance-silence
    12. Vibrations are there but not enough to grab my attention
    13. Ride by wire helps with smooth take off
    14. Clutch is softer and lighter
    15. 17 litres of fuel tank capacity can allow 500km range
    16. Since it's an Indian-make your tire (CEAT) expenses would be fraction of those big bikes (1/4th to 1/5th)
    17. Gearing is perfectly spaced out. Power delivery is little-lacking below 3000 rpm but above 3k it is great (Abhinav seeking snap for the technical trails)
    18. Can cruise at 120kph, has a top speed of around 150
    19. [con or not-a-con] Buttons (mode, joy stick) seem to be a little flimsy
    20. [con or not-a-con] Fraction of the delay in the instrument cluster
    21. [con or not-a-con] Tail light and indicators integrated as one are a NO for our Bhatt sahab (they'll break a lot and then your brake light is gone)
    22. [con or not-a-con] Exhaust could have been longer and more rounder (very subjective take)
    23. [con or not-a-con] If the rear would have been 18'' we'd have options to run knobby tires
    24. [con or not-a-con] Cruise control could have been explored by RE
    25. [con or not-a-con] Footpegs seem loose and the rubber should be easier to remove (why 3 bolts, RE?)
    26. [con or not-a-con] Headlight is weak (I have an x-pulse, that sets the benchmark for weak headlights)
    *shut up and take my money*
    Yudhvir can push to 4-4.2L while Bhatt sahab's take is 4L (for spoke tubeless rim option)
    My apprehensions:
    1. Valve clearance issue still there?
    2. Have they solved the cone sets issue?
    3. While it looks good, is the frame strong enough to withstand the abuse or would it crumble like the initial phase of 411?

      What valve clearance issue? I think the frame should definitely be stronger as even with old himalyan it only happend with 1st batch

      I take these videos for entertainment purpose. actually one can give opinion on bike only after using it for at least 1 year or so. only after personal use one can tell how much its worth to buy it rather than wait, earn money and buy more expensive bike.

    KTM390 Adventure owner, super impressed with the new Himalayan, especially like how the lower engine bars feature the sump guard. That's a big failing of the KTM
    Also love the tubeless spoked wheels.

    Fantastic discussion guys. It was very organic and laid back conversation.
    I was waiting for Xpulse 400 or something similar for touring/rally/off-road on Indian roads (there are bits where 390 ADV gave me hard time the moment I started pushing) and Xpulse 200 is definitely a good one for off road/trails in its budget and class, but definitely underpowered for touring/long rides.
    But after seeing your conversation and couple of other genuine reviews, this might be another RE motorcycle I would love to have one.

    I would consider this machine for it's fuel tank capacity. I think it will do well in all continents around the world. Once sales increase, the dealer support (spare parts, etc) will give buyers a lot of confidence in the H450. Thanks for a great TH-cam channel guys.     IMO Royal Enfield should give an opinion of customisation during bike booking. Those who want add-on accessories should be offered to choose online and should be fitted in the company itself. This will help consumers to get a proper factory fitting.

    When Himalayan Version 1 was launched, one thing that RE said was that ,it would be the only motorcycle that one would need in your garage. Whether it was a commute, a tour, offroad, get on a trail etc.etc. I think this Version completes the statement.

    This is a really great, informative review of this bike. I own a Triumph Bonneville 1200cc and just sold it because I am retiring to a country that has really lousy roads. I own a BMW f800gs and am selling that too because it's too expensive to ship. So I was caught between buying another new expensive Triumph, BMW, or yes, this less expensive new Himalayan. This review convinced me that I can enjoy the Himalayan just as much, pay half the price, and enjoy the savings by adding on all the accessories I could want including new tires, etc. and still have plenty left over for travel, etc. Well done, and thank you for sharing your experience with this bike.

      No! Because, passion pro, fz and splendor assholes try to stay level with big bikes thinking that they are the best riders because they can pull some serpentine moves in traffic and cut off big vehicles.
      Crash on a splendor at full speed without any gear: worst case only hand will break.
      Try the same on a 200kg bike, you might end up with lots more serious injuries.
      These will be the first to jump in a signal and will ride in the center lane @30kmph even if a bus is behind them.
      If you hit them, the whole village will come to fight with you.
      They are a disgrace to bikers.
      Really, commuters are not bikers.

    I don't watch podcasts and don't understand them completely, but i feel like this is a very good Podcast 😂
    I currently own a KTM Duke 250 2017 and i lived in a State with bad rural road sometimes trail type which i tour frequently to get to unique places and therefore feel a need for an additional motorcycle to have for those conditions, after test riding my friends Old Himalayan, Adv 390 and BMW G 310 GS in those roads i picked that the motorcycle for me personally is 310 GS (very easy for me off-road but cons underpowered on tarmac to catch up with my friends and showroom service center is 1000 kms plus away)
    then old himalayan(con weight and tarmac speed performance)
    then Adv 390(con seat height and it feels heavy than it is on paper for my liking).
    This motorcycle ticks my requirement, the weight is a concern for my physique with 5.4 ft and 29 inch inseam but definitely a need for a test ride in bad roads to decide whether its for me or not.
    And the voice of the other person kinda reminds me of one actor in Bollywood idk why 🤔

    Man, i was considering getting a interceptor and this video is swaying me towards the himalayan especially due to the ease of use and the 40hp of power and I don’t even go off roading in the true sense
    Would probably be fun to compare this against the 650 for city and maybe light offroad use (nothing even remotely close to the hardcore trail riding you guys do, though this seems more than capable even there)

      don't get fool buy any video. no himalayan can beat engine and practicality of interceptor. Interceptor is far better than anything else RE has made for city and touring purpose. unless you want hard core off roading.

      There’s no comparison at all, this is a touring motorcycle with some goodies, the interceptor is a how a perfect motorcycle has to be. It’s got everything and can do city, touring and can even turn into a scrambler if you desire.

    atleast you guys use your big ADVs. Few friends of mine have ADvs and just do highway rides on weekends or long weekends. More for status symbol of owning one cos when they park it somewhere people come and ask questions about the bikes. For me, I want to ride and go on adventures and have done my fair bit. I have been waiting for this motorcycle as I wanted a bit more power than the old Himmy and little more power than my Xpulse. I want one which can do 120 kmph with 20-30 kmph buffer left. So this ticks all the boxes for my needs. And I will wait till the tubeless spoke wheels are launched.
    PS: youtube will be unbearable once the deliveries start and then when Ladakh season begins in 2024. 😂

    Let me help u with a list of items that cd be better...
    1. Tubeless Tyres
    2. Headlight like a Dominar 400, minimum
    3. Tyre Huggers
    4. Side panniers aren't ok for soft side bags, since they would sink through towards the tyre(a small blocking plate is the suggestion)
    5. Adjustable clutch & brk levers
    6. A louder Horn please
    6. Better shaped n siized rear view mirrors

    I really hope the 805 mm lower seat wouldn't turn out like the V Strom 250 lower seat. Heard about it being not suitable for longer rides.

    Great review guy's!! This will definately be my next motorcycle! I've been riding for over 40 years now, mostly japanese motorcycles, the last 15 years bmw (r1100gs, r1150gs, r850r)
    But I am so impressed with the new Himalaya 450!! ( athough the welds could have been prettier) Definately looking forward to seeing it in the flesh when I come over to India in november!

    Good discussion boys - sadly I think the expected price of nearly $14k AUD (based on 411 at $8.5k AUD) will sacrifice alot of sales in Australia. The key number should be $10k AUD or under imo. More expensive here 🙈

    I Think your on point about the rear indicators and brake light integrated, its a bad idea and they stick out way to much.

    I really enjoyed your chat, this was so much fun. You should def do more of these. It’s much fresher than the fully polished ride reviews we get. I think the new Himalayan is a winner and hopefully I can get it as a 2nd bike for my garage after my CB300R.
    Quick qn for you mate, how comfortable is it for a pillion if they’re a bit bulky? Also, I want to really get into off-roading (adventuring I already do), so is it worth waiting for the SW or can I buy the available tyres and upgrade to SW later?

      I think it will be as comfy as any other bike out there for a pillion, since it is roomy and the seats are well padded. I actually prefer tubed tyres for off-road since I like to run knobbies.

      If you are an international, they are likely to be sold with tubeless spoke wheels. If in India, it might be sold initially with tubed spoke wheels which can be upgraded to tubeless as added cost.

    Great review from two fellas who obviously know bikes. there is no doubt in my mind from following the lead up and launch and post launch reviews this bike could be quite/will be iconic and set a new level and category for many motorcyclist. I have the 411 and its been and still is a great do it all bike. Been top to bottom and side to side of the UK and up all the high roads .... great solo go anywhere bike. The 452 has a tough act to follow but it seems RE have listened, have have used their talents to make significant progress on the 411. The only issue for me and it seems quite a few others is the price - that will be the deciding factor of success or mediocrity. Triumph have done a great job in setting peoples expectation ( in the UK) - if RE deliver this bike at or below £5.5k it will fly out of the dealer... over 6k Mmmm a lot of people will be looking elsewhere - Just my opinion, thanks for the review ride safe

      See, I don't know what they will price it at, but I do know that it punches well above its weight. So, even if it is priced a few hundred pounds above what you expect it to be, don't dismiss it till a proper test ride. It's really a sensational bike. And thank you for watching the video.

    Great video Abhinav, would be nice to have a side by side comparo of the 411 and 452, on a really ough patch from stand still.. to see how much of a difference one would find with the Sherpa mill compared to the 411

    Thats a lovely in depth take on the Himalayan. Initially i really wanted to trade in my xpulse 200 4v for this. But then i test rode it, its really powerful and pretty heavy. I have a continental gt 650 too but the xpulse is the reason why i love motorcycling ❤ so the xpulse stays, maybe i will add the Himalayan to the garage 😊 Kaza Brown probably

    Hey man! The only review I wanted for this beautiful ADV, thanks a lot.
    If you have the time, maybe in near future can you make a video of good/reasonable riding gear? Like the boots, helmets, the pants etc. with your suggestions. That would be super helpful!
    Anyways, looking forward to it! Gonna get myself this adv for sure.

    40:15 Another thing that makes this type of motorcycle formidable: it is much more fun to push a low-powered motorcycle to its limits than to have a lot of power and never be able to take full advantage of it.
    Speaking of the performance of the medium-sized motorcycles of this new era (Indian or Chinese), they still do not reach the figures of the Japanese ones without increasing their weight too much and without compressing their engines too much. In South America, a Brazilian-made motorcycle created in 2002 Honda XRE 300, with the same base as the Honda Tornado 250, gaining in injection and just 50 cc. It beat the previous Hymalayan in every aspect, but above all in reliability. I am very excited to see new models appear and move the bar a little higher, but for now it is only achieved in appearance. With an XRE 300 you can also do 80 km every day and have fun every trip, the only thing it loses is torque and power, but only in absolute terms, because in relative terms, it weighs 88 lbs less.
    I will have to wait 4 or 5 more years to change my XRE, gaining power and torque without losing absolutely everything else.

    Hi guys, I like your video, but I think you have missed a very important point, the name Himalayan is well chosen for this bike and the tough terrain it was designed for with its go anywhere ability & ruggedness, like the early Land Rovers. I have ridden the early version Himalayan in Nepal and into Mustang and the lower delta several times and it can easily handle the black top, with heavy unpredictable traffic, and the mountainous unpaved roads & tracks with ease, water crossings & wet, muddy conditions during the rainy season. I love the large front wheel and the engine torque in low gear and ease of riding in such rough conditions, its a fun bike to ride. Its not fast, but that's not the point when riding in the Himalayas. I have two BMW's which I real love, but at high altitude in the Himalaya conditions I would put my money on the RE Himalayan. Judgement can only be made if you ride in all conditions, wet, muddy and dry on road & off road, I would highly recommend the RN Himalayan value for money.

    Motorcycling should be simple. The more complicated it gets, the worries overshadow the fun. Once you are thinking about it all the time, you are no longer free. You are under the clutches of worries and anxiety. And thats where the purpose of motorcycling is defeated. If a bike compromises your freedom, its not a thing of pleasure but just nuisance value. Please don’t get me wrong, with due respect, thats the reason i hate superbikes. Triumphs, BMWs, Ducatis and Harleys satisfy our ego, but bikes like 650 twins, xpulse and now Himalayan 450 satisfy the soul❤ I believe Motorcycles should make our lives simple and enjoyable not complicated and traumatic. The bike bikes are amazing, but till a month from purchase. Then theres just burden. EMIs, Service costs, fuel economy, spares availability and most importantly responsibility.

    14:21 RE is very smart... Safety point of view, wide tail light help you when you have side boxes mounted on the bike.. That's why it is integrated in indicators. 👍
