No such thing as chill customs anymore. The ranked players have turned the actual ranked matchmaking into a desolate unfun chore of a wasteland. So now they come into custom lobbies to destroy them as well.
One thing I’ve learned with the multiplayer is to not play on your opponent’s terms. What I mean specifically is if you’re playing on a map with cover and you’re using a close quarters build don’t go out into the open and vice verse. One big thing many fail to understand is you can beat your opponent via timer and health if you don’t see a win out of damaging thing (whether it be because you don’t have enough health or you don’t do enough damage) seek out engagements within the fight to deal your damage and then just leave and avoid fighting them in the match. Things like this make customs much easier because you’re fighting in an unconventional manner
I fell in love with Armored Core again after a decade of waiting for a new game, and the PVP is nothing like it was in 4, FA, or V. There is no sense of “pride” when it comes to someone’s AC, it’s a large mass of the same cookie-cutter laser tank builds or double melee BVO’s. My younger brother and I would sit up late at night for hours customizing different AC’s and passing the controller back and forth to see if we could manage to beat another player. Now I can only manage playing customs for about an hour before I get completely disinterested because some dickhead who needs his daily dopamine hit joined the lobby with his meta tank builds. Here’s to hoping FromSoft changes the engine they use for the next AC game.
Yeah ac6 is what it is so that it can appeal to a bigger audience. Which I get it, if we want the game to live on. That being said for what is worth, I fcking love ac6 for what it is and still play. I just hope ac7 goes more to soulsborne route with open world and shit since it seems from soft is better at that thing now so, might as well embrace it 😊

Currently the "best" core is the tian core also know as🤰core (the one my opponent uses here). When you are using this core, in combination with a PS shield, veril head (which is very good stat dense, maybe the best head) and other meta weapons like tsujin and LRB, well then it is apparent that you are running a ranked viable build. When you encounter such builds in customs, well its no bueno for me cause i encounter them in ranked all the time, if i get them in customs as well where is the fun in that? It feels stale and everyone is copy paste, looking the same. Still i love this game despite this fact and im eager for some sort of update 😉

I would say there is no such thing as a "sweaty build". There are optimized/good and unoptimized/bad builds and some like to call the former "sweaty". Though in my personal opinion I'd call that a pretty toxic mindset so don't think much about what's a "sweaty" build and what's not. Just play whatever you think is fun and let others do the same.
I hate how unoriginal people are in this game, half of the people just copy and paste the same dull and boring builds and loadouts that do an ungodly amount of damage and take an ungodly amount of time to stagger, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone run a light weight without dual etsujins and the rest cling onto the most ugly, degrading to fight heavyweights built solely for stats. an Armored core is an expression of who you are as a player and so many express themselves as boring and unoriginal willing to do anything to win matches that sometimes aren’t even supposed to be competitive like custom matches

Etsujin is meta now because vientos got nerfed..so people will always go to what is optimal to win and then creativity which is what AC is all about goes out the window. I joined this lobby with a causal non meta build and was greeted with dual zimms so swapped to this lw which is not even my main. After playing this for so long I can safely say that the soulsborne route should have been better for ac6 😔
People just play what's good and fun? If you want to play whatever you want, be it an unoptimized non-"sweaty" build then do that, and let everyone else play whatever they think is fun. God this toxic mindset of "He uses good stuff, he's therefore killing the game!" is just pure brainrot.

But it feels frustrating and tiresome to fight said builds in ranked and then go in customs for some less stressful matches only to see the same thing. So rightfully you can do that and use whatever, but rightfully everyone else can feel burned out by this cause everyone looks and plays the same build 😊

And I get that fighting something optimized that can pick you apart in seconds might be stressfull to fight, but something that I tried to do is simply take it as a moment to learn, I stopped caring about winning for the sake of it and as a result those matches in customs became a lot more chill. Though that's just me, I like taking a moment to study how I can beat my opponents build instead of constantly obsessing about winning over it.
Complaining about meta build while using a meta build is kinda funny. If you were running something like an all laser shotgun tetrapod or a middleweight "do everything" pve build them fair enough, but double etsujin, basho arms with melee finisher is kinda meta too. Ok maybe your whole build overall is a bit of style over substance, but it's pretty meta.

Yeah that's what I had in that build. It seems to work better as a counter for PA. However for this particular match I just had PA ☺️
