I saw this when it originally aired on VH1 many years ago. Came here after seeing the Donna Summer documentary on HBO. Amazing and super talented woman.
Yes, this is how live music sounds. And the fascinating thing about Donna Summer is that she had multiple voices which always made her sound differently. She could sing in a whisper like a young girl, she could open up her pipes as well and those many voice colors she possessed made her the flexible singer who could do more than "just disco".

Yeah that's totally true... I can't think it's been already 10 years since she passed away. I remember that I was a high school student when I saw on my Facebook that she was dead and I was literally shocked. One of my biggest dreams ever would have been to see her in live. For me she is totally the true definition of a talented singer and she has in my opinion the best female voice I've ever heard (Whitney Houston being the second one). She made a lots of music hits like this one, and my favourites are Could it be Magic, MacArthur Park and I Don't Wanna get Hurt (especially with the Phil Harding's remix). She deserved to remain forever in the list of the biggest music artists ever, and I literally recommend her hits to everybody around me 😂 (my wife, who is 8 years younger than me, did not know about Donna Summer until we met and now she cannot stop listening to her music 😂)

I was fortunate enough to see one of her shows solo. Front row. The power of her voice was amazing....I heard her real voice coinciding with the amplified mic sound from my seat. Better yet....she spotted I was solo and stage danced with me on the floor. Sadly, I later learned she had called ahead to the venue requesting special treatment of her dressing room.....as she was having allergies. We all know what that later turned out to be the beginning of 😢😢😢
