1977 is disco era. This song is actually for the 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's, 2010's, and 2020's. This is a golden song. I grew up with it. Thanks to the three writers, Summer included, and the singer, Summer. I dance every time I hear this song playing at a coffee shop.

This was my first favorite song EVER. I was 5 years old when it came out. I remember my mom had the 8 track of ON THE RADIO GREATEST HITS VOL 1 & 2. Someone broke into he car, and stole all of the 8 tracks. When my mom picked us up at school, I asked her to put on Donna. That's when she informed me of the break in. I looked my mom dead in the eyes (I was like almost 6 yrs old), and said "YOU GO TO KMART RIGHT NOW AND GET ANOTHER 8 TRACK" She did. She loved Donna too. Mom died in 2010. Donna two years later.
For the longest time, I thought this song came out in the early 2000's. Mainly because there were so many songs that came out of that had that electronic, pop vibe to it. Kinda like Goldfrapp. I was shocked that it actually came out in 1977, and it was a Donna Summers song. Wow! The song is so a head of it's time. In the late 70's and early 80's, I wonder if people were confused by it. Cheers to forever the Queen of Disco!
1977 was the first time I went to a disco. This was the only song I remember that evening because it was unlike anything I ever heard before. I found out years later that we were both born the same year. It saddens me deeply when one of my contemporaries dies at such a young age.
We who grew up with the music from Donner Summer Diana Ross, and many others, were so so lucky! So many now have passed and it make me well up inside! So thank you for the music! I feel nothing but love for these people who gave so much of themselves, so we could handle life . Where would we be without music? RIP sweet lady!
One of the greatest songs ever composed! Who would think that this is a 70s disco song? It's really an EXPERIMENTAL POST-ROCK SONG! Something that was imitated by so called new originals like Radiohead and Muse!

Undoubtedly the Queen of disco music at this point and Donna's voice was still strong enough for us to have the legacy of that wonderful brunette icon from the late seventies and early eighties and I confess I am a rocker to the bone but I thoroughly enjoyed the era of disco music.
