Whitney Houston, Diane Ross & Dionne Warwick even Mariah Carey had problem with their voices when they got old but Donna still retained her quality voice and even got better as she age!
I was married to a beautiful woman named Donna and like this one she is gone too!!!! I miss them both so much!! I'm tired of being alone. At least I can see Donna Summer here. That helps a little!!!!
YES...HER VOICE GOT RICHER AND SHE WAS SICK WITH LUNG CANCER AT THE TIME AND DIDNT TELL ANYONE EXCEPT FAMILY AND THE NOTES WERE ALL ON POINT LIKE FINE WINE.... SIMPLY THE BEST OF THE BEST...DIVA OF ALL DIVA... THE QUEEN OF MUSIC
Donna was aged 60 in this 2009 performance but that doesn't come to mind watching her as she's engaged and effortlessly in control. Donna Summer was type cast by the past but kept her dignity and singing ability alive by listening to her heart and not by what 'others' thought she was supposed to be. I'm glad to have been around to hear Donna Summer.
I love how the orchestra leader is bopping along, the audience and everyone else in that place relived some memories. And she sang that song as she always has. And to think, she did it fully clothed, without any grinding, pelvic thrusts or foul language. Pure heart, soul and talent.
You know how you can tell a singer is legendary? When you have a huge amazing orchestra like this and she is the one leading. The vibe in that auditorium must've been electric. Rest in peace Queen.
It was in the mid 80’s and I was coming back from Germany. The 747 was almost empty and as I entered the main cabin I saw this nice looking black lady sitting alone and I asked her if I could sit by her and she said “sure”. We started to greet each other after the plane took off and just crossed basic information, where we were from, what I did in Germany my car business. We had breakfast, stopped talking for a while and started to talk again. A good 2 hours had past and I started to look at her closer and something told me that she was someone special. When it dawned on me that this was Donna Summer, I almost flipped out within myself. I asked her what she was going to do in Miami and she said visit a very dear friend by the name of K.C. I smiled at her and she knew that I realized who she was. We laughed and joked about the 70’s, my life in WDC and the Motown Review I used to go to (Howard Theater) as a 13 year old kid with my blond girlfriend Missy and mentioned that there was only 3- 5 white folks in the audience during the late 50’s and early 60’s. She got into her private life, her daughter and so on. The trip, if I recall was a good 7 hours back to Miami and it was one of the coolest experiences I have had. She gave me her address in New York and said …when in town, call me and come over. We hit it off, she being a super star and I am now more than ever a super fan of hers. Years past, I lost my note book where she wrote down her phone and address to my sadness. Beautiful lady physically and especially in spirit. So normal with an extremely pleasant wit and overall being. When she passed away, I knew that at least I was with her some 7 hours one day, but very sad that such a wonderful woman was gone forever. Love her!
Wow.. She still has it in her. Her voice has not changed. Many of the other singers from her generation have already lost their vocal octave range, singing brief and altered tones which do not match their original first recorded songs. Donna Summer's vocal range is still performed very close to the original recording. She has my admiration.
What an amazing experience to have a conversation with a super ⭐️ and the golden voice I have love her music since I was a teenager!!!! She is an angel singing now blessings .
Jake dg Why is that a cringe? All this modern shite really has taken away the good old days, we'll never have those again and the people of those days are much better than the materialistic, popularist people that are around today. And those who appreciate the old days for what they were regardless whether they were around to see and experience it - aren't afraid to be different. I couldn't give a fuck if you cringe at that or not.
James, you got it right.. I grew up as an 80s kid and that's the way we felt. Being different is what life sometimes is all about.. We had enough of the 70s wood paneled, polyester, long haired, soft rock scene by then. We wanted Color and outrageous and 1950s and 60s and 1920s and 1930s and everything we liked all mixed together OUR WAY! And we were not afraid to be DIFFERENT! And that, my friend, is why the 80s stood out and is now considered classic!
Yes she was!!! I had a terrible crush on her back around the time the movie "Thank God It's Friday" came out. (Circa 1978). Then, I got to see her in concert in San Diego, California, at the Fox Theater! What a show!! I took photos that night and I STILL have them all of these years later. Peace & Blessings!!!
My girlfriend is a nurse and has been double shifting for the past few weeks, I thought to make her lunch and play this video for her. Big Smiles go a long way.
kats peter WELL DONE!!! Next step could be: try to find a way to change the conditions - that's what we (I'm a nurse as well ) REALLY need. OF COURSE THIS IS NOT MEANT CRITICALLY - IT'S WOUNDERFUL YOU GIVE HER RESPECT THAT WAY!!! All the best to you both.
Barbie 🍓 🧸 : The orchestra leader is well done & good job. Tks orchestra leader! Donna Summer is a very wonderful lady. I miss Donna Summer forever and my tear drops … … hard to say … … Tks a lot! Tks a lot(You Tube 🍓!)
This singing angel Donna Summer considered herself Rock and Roll don't ya know? God blessed the USA with Donna Summer. Fact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just an outstanding voice. I appreciate her more now than during anytime in her career. So many have come and gone, but she prevails. I don't think she got all the recognition she deserves. She has been labeled the Disco Queen, but that does not do her justice. She is not limited to the time period because the quality of her voice is just timeless. She can hit every note, carry every tune and has a mastery of range. I am buying her records today because there are none like her.
I am a Blessed person who I could watch at the last performer of this myth in Brazil!! She was the most enjoyable part of my teenage memories of great times!!!
Oww, she's become even more beautiful thru her aging process!!! Get emotional hearing her songs. The friends I lost and the years that have gone by! Nice hearing her lyrics 30yrs later!!
This is how you do it!...None of today's female artists can hold a candle to Donna Summer...Two of the greatest of the music industry are gone...First Whitney, then, a few months later, Donna.
Even if she has gone home her vice will live on, Her music put so much joy to my life l can still hear last dance and MacArthur's park and let's not leave out Science of love, Heaven knows theirs so many Hits just too many to name. All l can say she rocks.
O.M.G.! I haven't ever seen this performance - can't believe her already crystal clear voice became even better with age....even her speaking voice is captivating...wow.
Siempre dando la talla, a través de los años, como los mejores talentos se mantiene su calidad. Pocos de estas grandes estrellas y privilegiados los que las disfrutaron en vida. aunque la voz de Donna, prevalecerá en la eternidad.
I grew up with Donna Summer in the eighties disco disco disco New York City to Los Angles Donna Summer all the way. Donna Summer was nothing but sensational all she got the party started all the time
I knew Donna and let me tell you, the DIVA could really ROCK the house!!! She had her groove thang going!!! Everyone knew the songs and the dancing in the aisles is what made her happy!!!!! Donna was a sweet gal with a wicked sense of humor!! REST IN PEACE DEAR FRIEND! You Are Missed!!

I'm still alive to see something I wrote a decade plus ago and 60 is around the corner 😄
Donna Summers is one of the greatest female singers of all time!! I love her presence and voice!
I love how the orchestra leader is bopping along, the audience and everyone else in that place relived some memories. And she sang that song as she always has. And to think, she did it fully clothed, without any grinding, pelvic thrusts or foul language. Pure heart, soul and talent.
