    I see a Jug video, I like it. Great tutorial, the Jug is an underrated aircraft in DCS.

      Glad you enjoyed it. Tell all your Jug-friends. More likes = more motivation to make more jug-lovin' videos.

    I read not long ago that the "preferred" dive angle in the Jug was something like 70 degrees nose down. I have tried to make that work a few times with no success. The 45 degree dive angle seems to work best for me at the moment. I also read that the actual "hit" percentage was quite low, like 10% or less to put the bomb within 50 yards of the target so unless you were doing a lot of editing I think you were doing a stellar job :) After struggling with the Jug to put bombs on target I can really see the appeal of using rockets.

      Thanks and totally agree about using rockets! BTW - was going to post something on Discord when I get around to it from a book I found, that basically said that pilots were pretty much just trying to drop bombs in the general area of the target - at least when the target was concealed in a hedgerow or town, they often could not even identify it. When strafing vehicles on roads it was a different story.

      @@Sidekick65 Interesting factoid - P-47 pilots were forbidden from using their guns until the rockets had been expended. Reason being that the spent links from the MG belts were ejected close to the rocket pylons and could sever the electrical connections to the rockets, leaving them unfireable.
      When this rule came down from on high many pilots weren't happy, as they had been gauging the right time for a rocket release by first watching the fall of shot from their guns.
      Some of them thought it helped keep the enemies heads down while they lined up, although if having nearly 8 tons of Jug screaming down from the heavens upon you wasn't enough then I'd say that MG fire wasn't going to help any further 😂
      I don't know what the method of spotting for the rockets with MG entailed in detail though, in terms of sight picture.

    This bird really intrigues me because of its history. It liberated my country (Belgium) and many others. Aside from that, it's a sexy ass plane. Do you use any shaders or graphics mods?

    I must say that when I add a warbird to my stable, the Jug will be the one I choose... Carries a lot more bombs than the Mustang.

      @@Sidekick65 ok, still haven't hit anything with bombs, but have done well with ripple and rockets.

    I always thought that bombing was kinda simple considering you only have to guess where your bombs will hit in a fighter bomber but damn it's not like IL-2 46 or WT

    • @Sidekick65
      @Sidekick65  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. It's not. But I think there are ways of getting good at it. Takes A LOT of practice though.

    I'm having the worst time hitting anything with the jug. The only bird I like flying in ww2, Just wish there was a better method of bombing with it. Is there a mission for practicing bombing for download somewhere? thanks, NO.20_W_M_Thomson.

      If you come to my Discord server you can download the Caucasus test range mission and add the p47 to it. That's what I did for the video.
      I am working on a practice mission but it may a little while before it's ready.

      @@Sidekick65 Thank you, buddy, just joined your discord. Also looking forward to the a4e missions. Haven't flown that bird yet but looking forward to that, heard it's a great module.
