Mossie is my favourite ww2 plane and it can do it all and is so incredibly versatile. It definitely deserved the wooden wonder monicker and they could take a surprising amount of punishment too and make it back on a single engine. Dehavilland was a true genius and had to fight hard to get the Mossie accepted but it had a big impact and was a paradigm shift from thinking of bombers having to be big slow and lumbering things. Thanks for the video full of first class info as always.
great tips, I just picked up the skeeter in the last sale, and this really helped with hitting my tutorial objective I appreciate your videos man :) keep it up
Great video, Sidekick. Good gun run and bombing. I was having difficulty in bombing, but using the lower ring seems to be the trick. And, as you stated many times, you have to be up close and personal when strafing and bombing. The Mosie likes to be down low.
Apologies in advance, I know nothing about extracting, unpacking or whatevering .miz files, being a dinosaur. I’ve just downloaded the latest updates for Mossie bombing and need to practice. I went to your discord and downloaded that .miz file, which is now in my Downloads folder but I don’t know what to do after that. One time it said that I needed to add a Pucara. Any help would be appreciated. ✌️
Dumb question! To drop the bombs you pull the gun trigger? This will drop the bombs rather than fire the guns? I assume arming the bombs makes this happen.
Depends on your controls set up, of course. But, it's usually a different button. It's referred to as "weapons release" in the controls set up. On my warthog, it's bound to the circular red button on the TOP of the joystick. Obviously you can bind it to any button you like.
how do you get into weapon release view and then are able to watch the weapon explode, every time I do it the camera switches back to the plane at the point of impact
Well, first of all, there's a bit of videoa editing going on. I actually record a track file of the flight thay I record in the cockpit. Then I go back and watch the track in external views. Often what I do for impact shots is start in the F2 view which follows the airplane. As the bombs drop and the aircraft flies over the target I switch to external camera view (alt-F11? - sorry it's program to a macro and I don't remember the binding) this stops the camera in its current location and aim.
Great Video, can I ask You Your starting quota and dive angle? And to recap You pull under the target, align on the center, then figure to aim about 50m beyond it, let it pass until it touch the bottom of the reticle and release, right? Thx.
Dive angle on the first run was around 20 to 25 degrees. On the second run it was 30 degrees. Not sure what you mean by quota. Starting altitude was between 5000' and 7000'.
Lovely, smooth, and beautiful! Thank you for these tips, and can't wait to see more as this mod develops and has systems added (particularly looking forward to radio usage and navigation)! If I may ask, what curves/saturation are you using for your stick? I am playing around with mine, but looking for suggestions wherever I can find them.
Thanks glad you enjoying the videos. I have a Warthog joystick with a 4" extension and I have the pitch curve set to 50% curvature - 100% saturation. I have the Roll curve set to 15% and 100%. I find the Mossie VERY touchy in pitch. It's also odd in that it requires more UP trim as it accelerates which is the opposite of most other aircraft that I fly.
@@Sidekick65 I've flown the Mossie twice now (because we have a WWII mission Thursday) and I agree with you that the pitch is VERY sensitive, even at 30% curve. I'll move it to 50% in a moment. As for the guns, as you get in close, that center dot in the site is what you hit. Focus on that dot! Bombs? Well, that's why I watched your video: It's not CCIP!
Bombing tutorial part of this bombing tutorial starts eleven minutes into the fourteen minute video. Doesn't include dive angle, airspeed, or other info that would allow someone else to duplicate.
Actually, that's because those things are relatively less important than things that ARE mentioned in the video - they are also easy to read from the instruments if you care to examine the video. The things that I think are important for iron bombing accuracy are to roll in clean, put the lift vector on the target, roll out with the flight path vector on the target, lift the FPV to a standard aim off point, and the hold the dive until your selected sighting mark crosses the target. ONLY PRACTICE can help you determine what sight picture works for you. No list of airspeeds and dive angles is a replacement for practicing with solid technique. That's why the video was set on the "no-mods" range - a mission which is available for free. So that you can practice to refine this skill. I hope you do. Let us know how you make out.

Finally got around to learning the Mossy. Thanks again, for all these training missions. Good stuff!
Hey! Glad to hear it and glad to hear the training missions are helpful
@@Sidekick65 Did you know that this training mission is mentioned in Chuck's Guide for the Mossy?
Yes. Because I have that guide! I was honored to be mentioned!

That you do! Drop by the Discord and let us know how you're making out.
And as always, thanks a lot for this high quality video! I'm looking forward to the Mosquito!
I'm sure you will enjoy it. Easy to love hard to master.
Great info on what appears to be a challenging mod. Gotta love that one-of-a-kind Mossie.
I'm enjoying it! Glad you liked the video
Thanks! I was struggling a lot with it and trying to find some reference on the procedure!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial video for us.
My pleasure. Glad you liked it.
Well done video and good to see one with bomb aiming tips.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it.
This is pretty awesome! Thank you for your work.

do you have any problems dropping the wing bombs?
Honestly, I have not tried yet. I have only used the bomb bay bombs.

I will give it a try and let you know.
