  • Welcome to The Green Yard! We are a channel focused on growing fruiting and flowering trees and plants in Phoenix, AZ! Phoenix is one of the best climates to grow in the country, we get just the right amount of cold and our heat can be tolerated. Our mild spring and fall allow for multiple growing seasons and the variety of plants that produce here never ceases to amaze me. In this video we’re exploring our abundant and diverse tropical food Forest. The Tropical Food Forest part of The Green Yard is roughly the size of a small backyard. Featuring 32 fruiting and flowering tropical trees and plants (with room for more) and a koi fish pond, this space is a productive paradise. Some of the trees thriving in this space are a Hall Avocado, Jackfruit, Soursop, Santol, Lychee, Custard Apple, Atemoya, Carrie Mango and more! If you want to see more amazing plant content please like and subscribe or follow us on one of our social media accounts.

Amazing! I'm in the west valley and am seeing huge growth out of all my sugarcane varieties. This humidity is helping so much

Awesome! What varieties do you have working for you out here?

@ALLDRAINSEMERGENCYPLUMBING I have one that I got from Shamus that is a black sugar cane variety. I believe it's either Thai or Vietnamese. And my newest variety is purple Hawaiian. Surprisingly my purple Hawaiian sugar cane is the most hardy. I've had my black sugar cane for a few years now and unfortunately it is dying from red spot fungus

Hello @bigpapaplantman5126, thank you for watching and commenting! I appreciate your kind words, that is amazing that you are seeing such growth on your sugarcane. I have been thinking about planting sugarcane but not sure if it's worth it. Would you recommend? I agree, the small increase in humidity during the monsoon season is definitely helping all my trees too.
