Welcome to the Granny Pop Cardigan tutorial! In this video, we will guide you through every step of this easy and stylish top-down raglan cardigan.
The Granny Pop Cardigan is seamlessly worked from the top down using a simple and beautiful granny stitch cluster pattern. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced crocheter, this pattern is perfect for you.
The video tutorial will cover the small size pattern but don't worry; the written pattern includes sizes XS to 5X, ensuring that you'll find the perfect fit. With its oversized design and 8+ inches of positive ease, this cardigan is both comfortable and trendy.
We will start the video by working on the yoke, where we'll separate the body and sleeves, creating the foundation for this cardigan. Then, we'll move on to the body, band, and collar, providing detailed instructions and tips along the way.
Join us as we rejoin the sleeves and work them in the round, adding the finishing touches with ribbed cuffs.
So grab your yarn and hook, follow along, and create your very own Granny Pop Cardigan. Let's get started!

Oversized fit with 8+ inches of Positive Ease. Choose the size based on the preferred Finished Bust Measurement.
Note: Please take note that for Sizes Small, it requires approximately 4 balls of Best Value yarn and 5 balls of Prism yarn. To ensure that you have enough yarn for your project, I highly recommend ordering some extra as a precaution.
Additionally, I want to mention that when working with the Prism yarn, I found that slightly more yardage was used compared to the Best Value yarn. This difference could be attributed to the minor variation in yarn weight or tension while crocheting.
It's always better to have a little extra yarn on hand than to run out halfway through your project. Happy crocheting!

Great instructions, thank you so much. I find it helps placing a stitch marker into each V-stitch, that way it’s easier to see where to place the next V-stitch and the three dc’s into the ch-1 st. on each side of the V-stitch.
You are so amazing on your tutorials and patterns. I am 70 years old and I love that I can use so manny if your patterns for myself. They are easy to adjust as you are so helpful with the sizes I love watching you!!! Your a true blessing!
And starting mine in variegated wool, pretty amazing. Almost finished in fact. I find that finishing the edges before making the sleeves easier to have a correct length for the sleeves indeed ❤
I also wanna say thank you for making your patterns in many sizes that helps so much
Sooooo happy to have come across this pattern…starting my second cardigan! Your work is amazing and it’s always a pleasure seeing your tutorials pop up! Thank you thank you for your hard work!! 💛💛
Amazing work and you’re helping me crochet my first adult sweater after 55 years of crocheting. I’m a little slower now at 76 so I need to stop the video a lot but I’m still having fun. Thank you ❤
I’m 75 and I’m so looking forward to trying this. I’m made everything but an adult sweater…just like you, been crocheting for 55 years….I can’t wait to get started. It’s so awesome to see someone my own age crocheting. I also knit…do you? The person teaching this pattern is excellent.
Jdu háčkovat přízi už mám .Děkuji za krásné návody .
I'm almost finished with my 3rd one! Video helps so much. Thank you!
Top down is the best style wearable, in my opinion. You get the best fit for your body. I am absolutely making this for fall!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
The color changes are gorgeous 🥳🥳🥳
I got my pattern and will starting it in a few days. Absolutely love it. Thanks so much for sharing this. Have a great day!!!❤
Oh I love cardigans and love doing raglan style. Thank you for sharing this. 👍🇨🇦⛵
YES!! I'm so happy that you designed this cardigan!! I love 💜 it!! I just bought the pattern on Etsy. Thank you!! 👸💜🌹
This cardigan looks great. Thanks for the tutorial. Appreciated.
Just went and bought some yarn to make this!!! I’m so excited even though in store didn’t have enough of the color I originally wanted so I chose something else but that just means to go back and make a second one when they have the color back I did want.
I can't wait to get started!!!
I love your tutorials they are so easy to follow.Thank you ❤
Ooh pretty! I didn’t make the others cause I have a lot of Granny square sweaters! This is great! This is adorable and cozy!,
❤❤❤❤❤ You are so talented and inspiring. This is the best one yet! I know I say this every time, but I am going to make these for everyone in my family for Christmas. I can’t thank you enough. I am someone who gets “FINISHITIS” 😂. I really put off seaming up sides and sewing on collars and sleeves. I just started this yesterday and can see the end and I am enjoying this pattern so much. I love it when I can see the progress as I’m working. No surprises except that you have made me the best I can be. I’ll have to wait until I can get more yarn to do all I want to make, but now I can go to the store with confidence that I’ll be spending money for sweaters I’ll actually complete and being proud of the finished product! Everyone I know will see this tutorial! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! You really are going to love this one. Not only does it work up easily it also fits so nice and comfy. It just might be my favorite Cardigan yet!

I'm finding this tutorial brilliant alongside the pattern so thank you! Just a little help for the future... Could they possibly be chaptered so that you click onto row 4 or row 8 main body etc. I keep losing my place. Thank you for the video. It really helps me to learn and check when reading the pattern x
Dove trovo il cartamodello, grazie
@@stefanialicata9850her website comes up at the start of the video. That will tell you some different ways to find the pattern.

Thank you for this amazing pattern, I now have almost completed my very first wearable item. I always make blankets, amugrumi and small items. But this has gotten me out of my comfort zone and I will be wearing my very own version of this in the next couple of days 😊 I also can't wait to do the hoodie. I'm going to have a closet full of granny pop sweaters/cardigans. Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤ xx

Hi M.J.! Love all the Granny square projects! I swear, your ensemble has the prettiest combination of granny patters I’ve ever seen! Unfortunately I had to pass on these patterns (for the time being) because I’m in the process of moving, and trying to use up or donate my stash (which is large). I’m moving North several states, so I don’t want to move more stuff than needed. Anyway, I wanted to ask if you could make a beginner/intermediate ripple stitch cardigan? I’ve wanted to make one forever but my ripple stitch (which I’ve used on many afghans) has gotten kind of wonky. I always end up with one side getting bigger and bigger! I’ve tried many patterns and can’t figure it out. I thought if you created a sweater that’s not too difficult I might be able to figure it out as I crochet something pretty? Thanks Michelle!
I LOVED making this!!!! I made one with Caron Cotton Cakes that so had in hand (I wasn’t sure I had the skill level to make a sweater 🤷♀️). I used a smaller hook and made the xs…It fits my 8 year old wonderfully.
Instruction is great and I bought the pattern so I could follow the written directions as well.
There is no place for me to post a picture for you to see it though? 🤔
Thank you for the wonderful pattern. 🌹🌹
Amazing! I have a Facebook community group to share your MJ's makes! facebook.com/groups/363218121026907/
Hi Norma what size hook and size yarn did you use? I would like to make this for my 8 yr old granddaughter. I have dk weight yarn also.
Im about to complete this. It has been easy to follow along even as a beginner. I used a weight 4, acrylic yarn, and noticed it being heavy as im coming up on completing it. What other yarn and weight can this be done so it's more light in weight
When you sheared this video I was staring to do, and I’m happy to tell you I’m finished today. So happy ❤😊
Thank you for sharing this cardigan with us all 😊 I was wondering if caron simply soft would be OK as I'm in the UK 😁 and can't get the yarn your crocheting with ❤
Yes of course!
Thank you 😊 off to the shops to get my yarn. Can't wait to make one x caron simply soft in country blue 💙 that's what I'm going with . 🥰
