I resisted making one of these in the 1970s, but you've made this old classic more lovely than most I've seen. It's a great theme for the many possible variations! Thank you.
Awe thank you so much!
The colors of yarn helped make it look pretty. 1970s yarn colors were not this colorful.
I love your color choice of yarn.
Finally someone who's not exactly make the same dress with the same colors! Thank you it's really cute, reminds me of the Go Go dresses back when....I'm dating myself but yeah love it!
I had to Google Taylor’s dress to figure out what you were talking about. Yours is MUCH prettier and I’ve seen crochet since childhood and I’m in my early 60’s 😉
This was all the style in the 60’s. I swear I’ve seen similar ones in movies. Love the classic fashions that keep coming back.
Actually the perfect yarn for a dress! I like your version much better!!!!!!🩵🩵🩵
Oh thank you!
Thank you for addressing the scoop neckline unlike other videos that says just two rectangles…smeh!
I've seen others that have shorter lengths on the center of the rectangle ends to create that scoop.
I don’t want to start something new before finishing current things (I’m trying to be better about finishing things), BUT I’m saving this and if you sell a written pattern I may buy it to make this some day. I LOVE the scoop neck and patterns that are simple enough that I can crochet while watching a movie or listening to a book. Thank you so much for the clear instructions! ❤❤❤
Now I don’t have to wing it!!! Thank you!!!!
You are very welcome!
Amazing!!
We can always count on you Briana, Thank you!,
I appreciate the way you design so much. Your tutorials are excellent. Thanks for sharing your experience and techniques. So much prettier than the original.
Thank you so much!
I just finished this lovely dress. I was going to give it away but its so cute I have to make another to keep this one. 😂 I really appreciate you. Thank you. 😊
I have to tell you, Briana, I made the cascade long hooded sweater with ribbon insert for my granddaughter. She loved it! My younger granddaughter saw it and loved it so! So, I had to make it for her, too! Her mother said she slept in it!
Needless to say, I am burned out on that one!
So, just in time with this new one! Too cute!
Thank you!
Liking the look of your Granny Square Dress Pattern. Thank you for the Tutorial.
Thank you! 😊
Isn't this just the cutest? !! 💕💕💕
Appreciate that you care about mirroring the right and wrong sides in each neck shaping. It's a pet peeve of mine and I have seen even some paid patterns not caring about it ❤
Love the colors of your version!
I think it looks better than the old fashioned block look
Yay! Thank you for making this dress! ❤❤❤
Briana… you have the best tutorials !! Thank you for showing how to make the dress from beginning to end… it is so appreciated, and gives hope to this fairly new crocheter ☺️
Que bonito está !!!
You are the goat for putting this tutorial out this quick ❤❤
That was fantastic, great colour, love it😊
This is such a nice dress. Love the yarn you selected.
Love that yarn! Love that dress!

Just wanted this ever since even before the “Swifty Dress Mania”. Off to Etsy to buy Patern. ❤❤❤❤❤

Excellent teacher! Great pattern! I have purchased and watched various crochet artist for 3-days now and your take on the pattern is the best by far. Thank you. I can't wait to get started !! I will check out all your social network sites ... !!
Thank you so much!
❤ yours looks so pretty on you 😍 thank you for making this tutorial 😊
Edit: I’m working on making one now
Love this. My granddaughters are swifties and one of them loves me to crochet things for her. So off to Etsy I went and purchased your pattern. Now I have to go buy some yarn and call my daughter to get my granddaughters measurements.
Aw, they're gonna be so excited!
@@stam8927 My granddaughter is 15 so that age can be picky I really hope she likes it. What do you think about doing this with lucky bamboo yarn?
Love the dress! Could you not decrease later to make a smaller scoop of the neck in the back? this would prevent slipping of the garment off the shoulders
This is so cute. I may make it a little shorter. I think it would make a cute tunic over jeans.
For sure!!! Can’t wait to see it made that way
I plan to make it a tunic as well, with scoop neck only on front. It’s a very adjustable pattern!
@@MsSaka100you just gave me a great idea of no scoop on the back
Omg, I started this dress working on my calculations.
Hermoso ❤
Hi Miss Brianna, how are you? Good evening, I love this, I am blind, and I am giving it a try. Love your tutorials.
Gracias ya encontré la explicación en español ❤
Donde please❤
O yes I knew ur beautiful ladies one will make this dress n u made beautiful elegant and I love ❤️ it thanks for sharing yes I will be making this beautiful dress for myself only thing as I am a senior so it will be below my knees 👍🧶🌹🙏🏿⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏👋🏿❤️💐
Could you do a child's version..
I was thinking the same thing. The only changes would be in the neck space and the decreases in the neck
❤
I hate the TSeift veraion but I really enjoy your version because of the yarn and its coloring
Looks simple and cute. I would prefer half or short sleeve though
The sleeve length can be adjusted
I like the dress. Gotta figure out the sleeves though. They look bulky. Do u think using a DK maybe??
This yarn is a heavy worsted so it will look different in lighter weight yarns
I bought the pattern about 30 minutes ago. I can't wait to make it. I will post finish pictures for you on my ravelry account.
Çok güzel ve Türkçe Alt yazılı olması harika
Something that is faster than speed of light are crocheters ✨✨😊
The Carron yarn looks very thick. Does it drape well? Is it too hot for summer? Looks amazing!!!!
Loved the pattern thanks for sharing. Where did you buy the Caron Blossoms Cake?
thank you for doing this pattern! if don’t have a 6.5 hook can you use a 6 or 7 hook?
BEAUTIFUL DRESS MS. BRIANNA....DID YOU USE TWO SKEINS OF CARON BLOSSOM CAKES OR ONE SKEIN? THANK YOU FOR SHOWING THE PATTERN TUTORIAL. HAPPY CROCHETING 🎉🧶🎉🧶🎉🧶🎉🧶
It depends on the size you are making, that info can be found here: brianakdesigns.com/classic-granny-stitch-dress/
Buenas tardes saludos desde Barranquilla Colombia muy lindo el,vestido lástima que no tenga subtítulos en español de todas maneras gracias 😘
Sí tiene subtitulos en español.
Beautiful dress but, im a beginner and I am totally confused about the decrease of the neckline
Me gusta, pero los subtítulos o indicaciones NO dejan ver la clase o trabajo
Hey this is so cute can you please tell me how many yarn cakes do you need? ❤
It depends on the size you are making, that info can be found here: brianakdesigns.com/classic-granny-stitch-dress/
How tall are you? Making for my 21 & 22 yo daughters.
One is 5’8 and other is 5’5
Thanks
I am 5’6
I am curious if you could skip the decrease rows for the back portion, having the scoop only in the front, to reduce the neck so it isn't quite as open/wide?
Yes you can. I made a note of that in the pattern. It would make the neckline higher and still look great.
I like to put a chain 1 between clusters... if i use your pattern do you think that the ch 1 affect the sizing and fit? thank you
It can depend on your tension, it’s possible it might change the stitch width gauge. However, you could do this with the guide because creating that way is more about the measurements
I really want to make this pattern with you but if you don’t have a 6.5 hook can you use a 6 or 7 hook?
Hi is this made with double knitting yarn I am thinking of making this 😊
How many rows in total for dress and sleeves hard to tell with color changunf
Hiya, I came to watch the video to see the end of row 1 on the Back Neckline Section but this wasn't included in the video. The pattern suggests to increase at the end of the row if I'm reading it correctly, but this doesn't seem to align with the other rows? Please help 🙏 😊
I'm reading it the same way... Row one of back neckline decrease seems to have an increase where there shouldn't be one and of course video doesnt show it😅. I thought I was crazy so came to the comments to see if anyone else saw this as well. I'm going to just skip last 3 stitches and double in the last. Briana are we reading this incorrectly?
@jenniferdean5943 yeah that's what I've done as well. I've basically just repeated what I did on the front but in reverse 🙂
There was an update, the end of this row doesn’t have an increase and continues in pattern.
@@BrianaK ah ok thank you. I'll see if I can find the update. I must have missed it 🙂🙂
🙌👍👍👍
I must be dumb I done understand and I’m trying to make it still lol I’m so confused
Can it be made in the cuff to cuff style so all the stitches face the same direction?
You could go by measurements and do it that way.
HELP - how do I count the number of spaces between groups of its for the rows. I'm still learning but my first attempt did not go so well. I would really appreciate your advice on this.
You would be counting the spaces where any set of granny groups or the 2dc at the beginning of the row, would go
Can you please tell me if I use the length that you did but to make the dress an x-large what do I need to change?
I think you could just add a few extra center rows
There is a full tutorial on the blog: brianakdesigns.com/classic-granny-stitch-dress/
What is everyone wearing underneath the dress 😮
amzn.to/3RQKBCK
May I know which Shade did you use? How many rolls did you use?
It depends on the size you are making, that info can be found here: brianakdesigns.com/classic-granny-stitch-dress/
Hi .. is it possible to get child sizing.. I have a niece who loves Taylor swift..
I’m currently making one for a 16 year old using the guide. I took some of her measurements for each section. I’ll show pics of how it turns out.
Ok just followed your instructions watching video put all that work in and count off when I get to otherwise. Went over 23 did my rows when I got start other side after ch17 there not enough length so disappont
What do you wear underneath if you wear it as a dress?
A slip dress
I got this slip from Amazon amzn.to/3W2HQRp
🥰💐💐💐💐💐🎉🎉🎉❤
I want to THANK YOU for showing the increases and decreases!!! All of these videos claiming to be a tutorial for the dress are basically just showing how to do a granny stripe pattern... nothing else! I do have to ask, is there a way to keep the neckline from having such a deep scoop? I'd like mine to be more of a slight curve.
Thank you so much for a beautiful tutorial! By far the best I've seen yet!
😂😂😂
Your count wrong starting ch 161 and do granny. There 32 holes . You say go in 23 right. Then you skip 5 for neckline.well other side needs 23 also right? Well flowing your measure there only 32 holes to work in 😢
The front and back are not exactly the same in stitch count. More information in the pattern on the blog or the pdf file on Etsy.
thank you for doing this pattern! if don’t have a 6.5 hook can you use a 6 or 7 hook?
Check your gauge, that's the most important thing.
I really want to make this pattern with you but if you don’t have a 6.5 hook can you use a 6 or 7 hook?
If your guage swatch is right you can change hook sizes. I'm using a 6mm to get the guage correct
