Never before or since was any contestant ever put in the position of needing to play the type of game Natalie was forced to. It looks far easier than it really is. Had she been on the other tribe, she would have been able to be a little looser with her play and the end game would have been considerably different. Having pegged Russell pretty much within seconds, she realized she would need to play the barest bare bones type of game throughout. When others stood up to challenge him, she played his grape feeding girl Friday. The only time _she_ spoke up was when someone proposed to boot him. She was the _only_ contestant never to advocate for his ouster; in fact, quite the opposite, she adopted the simple single play of protecting him at any and all cost. Thus, his heat-seeking stink bombs never knew she existed, and at only one Tribal Council did her name come up (a tie-breaker with Laura, the first to involve two women).. His move to bring her into the merge fold instead of Liz was not a random act that came out of the blue. Nor was his move to boot Shambo (the only other female remaining). In fact, the way Russell acted, particularly the Brett boot, was set up by Natalie on and since that very first day. All of her weak suits would cease to be irrelevant while her strongest suit was about to come into play. Meanwhile, all of his strong suits would become useless while his weakest suit (aka *blind spot)* come into play. It was an earned victory from beginning to end. Seven to two. In essence, it was absolute red and absolute blue oni. To this very day, no contestant has ever been forced to continue defending their victory to the level and degree she has.
Fun fact, While definitely being more proactive, Parvati tried to execute a similar type of game in HvV when it came to dealing with Russell. Ironically, it was her proactive move(the double idol play) that sowed the seeds for her games destruction as it led to Russell voting out Danielle and instantly zeroes her and Russell's chance of winning with that jury.
@@066kshitizvsingh4 And while it can be hard to really explain why it worked for Natalie and not Parvati, I think it simply shows that Parvati could, at any point, have really played AGAINST Russell. Natalie played it because she simply had to do it that way; she didn’t have the standing or power to stand against Russell, and was in a much better position to simply play the errand girl, while keeping everyone sweet to her side. But Parvati made her own strategic moves, while never really approaching any of the heroes as a potential ally, ultimately neglecting the social element of the jury. Natalie played an almost flawless social game, in keeping two dislikable people to be her disposable shields into the finale, while Parvati failed to do so; and ultimately leading her to losing, when keeping him close led to her being forced to take a more likeable option than both to the finale, in Sandra.
Russel might have played one of the best games ever, but that is never the full story. Human connection will always be the most important part of any group activity, he won be manipulating, and that is not honorable, my vote would of been natalie.
I think Natalie deserved the win, I just wish she had come across stronger in FTC. If she had mentioned that she was always using Russel as her goat for example, I think she would've come across stronger & saved herself some backlash. I lowkey was hoping she would've come back for WAW, just to see how she would change her game.
He didn't help himself socially in lot of ways but... just depends on the season. Sometimes the angel wins sometimes... the other. One season it's let's vote for the best player regardless of feelings and other juries do it differently
It's pretty simple. Everything was fair game until the jury cast their votes. Up to that it's just a gameplay discussion honestly. After that Russell is a small shallow man who proves his ignorance time and time again (including following seasons).
You wanted to montage “the man who says he’s completely different outside this game” and clipped together things he said about the game. MAN! HE ADMITTED HE CONTROLS HIS OWN FAMILY THE SAME WAY HE WAS PLANNING TO PLAY THE GAME! HE SAID HE’S EXACTLY THIS EVIL TO HIS OWN “LOVED” ONES! The man’s LITERALLY a disturbing psychopath!
I know she is not a favorite winner in the Survivor community, but why didn’t you do a separate story video for Natalie? I know Russell is involved in her story, but I was hoping for a video where the focus was just on her
Honestly, I think their stories are too deeply intertwined to really separate. While I do think that Natalie’s quiet, subtle strategy could’ve won on any season, the way it played out alongside Russell’s, I don’t think there’s much that can be done to fill up a full video for Natalie, without Russell ultimately bleeding in. Especially since the editing took like 3 episodes to even give her a chance to speak, the story of Natalie is ultimately the story of Natalie White and Russell Hantz.
I will say that I felt like in Samoa he definitely was much more under the radar when it comes to his asshole-ness, etc. Most of his crap talking came in confessionals but I feel that in person he hid it decently well. As opposed to HvV where he did things in full view of other contestants.
I don’t feel that Natalie White was that much better than say a couple seasons later.. Natalie Teranelli or Phillip.. but she was able to talk her way out of situations and actually had at least a vision of how to execute things.. unlike either “goat” from season 22 was
Something people tend to forget because "Russel is the best, and no one can say otherwise" is that she orchestrated the vote against Ben, even though Russel refused it (he'd then reluctantly vote for Ben), and convinced the Galu women to vote off Eric, he needed her as much as she needed him, he wasted that idol on himself that round, which is forgotten about because of the next round where he sets the record of 7 votes cancelled
People forget that Natalie caused the Galu Downfall as she convinced them that Erik is untrustworthy which made them turn on him. This made Sham mad and caused her to flip and gave them the majority. Natalie deserved to win
But that wasn't a random act that came out of nowhere. She worked the Foa Foa relentlessly to keep the crosshairs _off_ Russell before the merge and worked him in such a way that he would never train his heat-seeking stink bombs on her.
The fact that Russell was able to get so many Survivor fans to root for a cocky multi-millionaire oil tycoon really does speak to his incredible charisma
Russell taking Natalie to the merge over Ashley or Liz because she has a good relationship with Laura and can build inroads with Galu is such a fantastically brain dead take If Russell takes Shambo, and either Jaison or Mick to the end he might have managed to win And Erik’s speech didn’t change anything, nobody liked Erik, Spencer’s speech also did nothing actually less than nothing as it made Kass rethink her vote and made many see Tony as significantly more of a villain
In my Opinion this Season was Just Down to the Jury. The Way Russell Played was he would make the Final 3 Garrented, but he would hope that the Jury Put Facts over Feelings, and appreciate the dominance he displayed over the season. But that did not happen . (In a different season, with a Different Jury .he would of won.. Probably). To Be Honest i can see why People said that Russell was robbed. If the Jury Put there feelings aside, and focused on gameplay. Russell Would of won the Season 110%. But They Didn't so fair Play to Natalie for Playing The Way she Did. At the End of the day it was all down to the type of Jury they had.
We've seen that a different jury made that decision in HvV. He was ridiculed for his abysmal social gameplay in a social game. The only Jury he'd have a chance with is Thailand's and that's just because both options were the worst case scenario originally

I have a good comparison for the final results that we should all think about.. whether or not you liked the results it was a controversial win.. I’d say 50/50 is how the fans viewed it. Without a doubt Brett Wins and you can 100% tell the jury was pity.. Out of Natalie white and Russel I believe Russel Hants deserves to win.
But the jury DOES exist and that information is known by every single player since day one. Russel didn’t play a good game, because he didn’t keep one of the most important mechanics in mind, and Natalie did

@@miragexl007 _Survivor_, at its core, has always been a social game. He always lost sight of that which is why he always lost the game. It doesn't matter how he **should've** won because it's irrelevant
1.5 hours? We are not worthy.
Survivor is at its core a social game, if big moves won you the game Roba be Rusell would have won, and they didn’t which shows that big moves do not matter
Survivor has a JURY for a reason, this game is anything but objective
goes back from the very beginning when Sue Hawk says "what goes around comes around"
Natalie White SWEEPS this flop
Great video really put things into perspective. Only secret video I'm surprised you didn't show was Eric saying he was voting for the least deserving person.
Do you mean 01:30:17 for Eric?
Russell deserved to lose both times because he completely ignored half of the game. The social aspect is just as important as strategy. Plus lying about hurricane Katrina earns you a spot in hell.
He thinks only as far as stealing the chickens.
He doesn't think about getting out of the barn before it burns down.
Seriously, all the people saying Russell should've won are idiots. He ignored the biggest part of the game, which is socializing with others, especially considering some of them are going to be on the jury lmao
4:02 is the moment the winner won the season. "Ok."
Russell beat everyone.
Natalie beat Russell.
Well deserved win, however not a flashy one. I still like Russell more in terms of entertainment.
Love it! ❤
Thank you! 😊
I feel like charisma is the most important trait that survivors can have.
Russell was holding up Lauras name saying your going home because you said you were smarter then me he spelled her name wrong lmao
To those who think Russell should’ve won:
You’re wrong & you have absolutely NO understanding on how the game works.
He didn't help himself socially in lot of ways but... just depends on the season. Sometimes the angel wins sometimes... the other. One season it's let's vote for the best player regardless of feelings and other juries do it differently
I agree. Russell is one of the most entertaining players ever, but he is doomed to never win with that kind of attitude.
people will still whine about 'bitter jury' 14 years later and still not get the point of survivor being a SOCIAL game
@@userknonothingIDK, Russell seems to be the player who'll piss off any jury enough to lose in any seasons
Honour, integrity and loyalty ARE very important to Russel! Honour, integrity and loyalty to him when it serves him.
you spoil us with this content my good sir🤭🤭
It's pretty simple. Everything was fair game until the jury cast their votes. Up to that it's just a gameplay discussion honestly. After that Russell is a small shallow man who proves his ignorance time and time again (including following seasons).
It’s funny how this was posted yesterday after seeing what went down today 🤣
What went down today?
@@OnceUponAnIslandRussell leaked Wendell’s phone number on Twitter D:
Oh, geez. Usually people get more mature with age.
Love Natalie ❤ happy she Won 💗❤️
Just a question: What happened to the Natalie story video? Firstly it was available, then non-public, then set to private or deleted.
TH-cam copyrighted it so now it is only on Patreon.
Pretty good season. Good run with 18 and 20.
Russell talking about Babe Ruth striking out the most is funny, considering Bambino is only 148th in strikeouts.
He did, it got copyrighted and it’s only available on Patreon now
Natalie's has been on TH-cam since January so... 11 months now.
@@OnceUponAnIsland yes, I replied about the separate video after the video about Russell and Natalie, it was good!
Love the winner videos
I will say that I felt like in Samoa he definitely was much more under the radar when it comes to his asshole-ness, etc. Most of his crap talking came in confessionals but I feel that in person he hid it decently well. As opposed to HvV where he did things in full view of other contestants.
I think it’s the edit, considering they didn’t show us Kelly and him interacting
Also, where’d you find that pre game interview you used in the beginning?
The dvd's
@@OnceUponAnIsland nice. I found all stars at a library sale for 5 bucks the other day.
All-Stars has the best bonus features by far.
I missed it, but why is he calling him CGI Bret? Cause he came outta nowhere! 😆
the dirtbag russell clip show near the end was a work of genius.
He talks about how great he is and how sorry everyone else is.
Russell Hants was like a much more evil Dr Will fron Big Brother
Good to job to nat
For playing Russell
Everytime I hear him recount the Katrina story I get mad all over again- what an asshole 😅
1:22:10
They really should've put Natalie in HVV on the heroes tribe, she would've fit perfectly, replace Candice with her
The fact that Russell was able to get so many Survivor fans to root for a cocky multi-millionaire oil tycoon really does speak to his incredible charisma
It also speaks to a good edit
Team Natalie all the way 🙌
Russell taking Natalie to the merge over Ashley or Liz because she has a good relationship with Laura and can build inroads with Galu is such a fantastically brain dead take
If Russell takes Shambo, and either Jaison or Mick to the end he might have managed to win
And Erik’s speech didn’t change anything, nobody liked Erik, Spencer’s speech also did nothing actually less than nothing as it made Kass rethink her vote and made many see Tony as significantly more of a villain
@@AlphaOutlaw he would cook in all the newer seasons who respect the game
@danielkornja6120 Not in the slightest. People know that angle and don't respect it, especially if they have to live through that. He wouldn't have a place to hide, and players will compare notes often
Rochard was arrogant, strategic, but he managed to make freinds and don't make too amny enemies alongside jury - and he won
@@AlphaOutlawI don't agree if it was his first time Playing and he Played like that he would of won
Russell plays a great heel
I have to be on Russel team Im from the line of thinking that you lie on survivor to win and yes Russell took it toooo far but the man called it on day one that he would dominate. Ppl don't realize how BAD down in numbers he was going to the merge and he was the target every tribal yet he never left and now everyone just looks for idols without clues he did that lol
I can see your points and respect them. The only issue is at the end of the day, the only votes that matter is the jury vote and him constantly burning people and not humbling himself cost him those votes. Respect to his game though, even if im not the biggest fan of it.
I mean, he was BAD down in numbers due to his own planning 💀 he literally sabotaged every member of his team from day 1, and he even said that it was on purpose. Scott from Total Drama Island is based on Russel for a reason. He is cartoonishly evil to his own detriment
Team ratalie ❤
Could be the worst tribes of all, That favor character like russel.... But then I think of Boston rob, and the season he won. That was set up for him.. Pathetic tribes So rob could win for the show finally.
I have a good comparison for the final results that we should all think about.. whether or not you liked the results it was a controversial win..
I’d say 50/50 is how the fans viewed it.
Hear me out.. if the finals was Natalie White, Russel Hants, And BRETT we would 100% be talking about how UNDESERVING of a winner he was. Without a doubt Brett Wins and you can 100% tell the jury was pity.. Out of Natalie white and Russel I believe Russel Hants deserves to win.
But the jury DOES exist and that information is known by every single player since day one. Russel didn’t play a good game, because he didn’t keep one of the most important mechanics in mind, and Natalie did
Natalie only won cause all the butt hurt people that Russell put on jury.
Yup! He played like how women play men and they hated him for it. So. Tears.
so... we can say that Natalie won because of Russel.
Russell was a idiot who didn't play the social game, Natalie deserved the win.

Russell was robbed
Nope. Survivor is a social game at heart, and if the jury hate you, then you don't deserve the win. If you get TWO votes out of eighteen, ur just a idiot.
Robbed of a slap in a face maybe
Not a big Russell fan, but he definitely deserved to win here
Whose votes did he deserve that he didn't get?
No, he did not. Survivor's most important goal is literally getting votes. His social game is terrible and he insulted people (Rupert) in front of their face, along with other stupid social moves. Natalie won because she wasn't stupid.
Ben wasn’t racist
go Russell, he wasnt evil he was a great player and should have won
He was evil.

Bitter jury, for sure. I think more was expected out of jurors, as the seasons went along. That whole Galu tribe was like, Russell fooled us and made us vote out ourselves, so we won't let him win! We'll vote for Natalie.

She voted out the same people Russell did! But she was so sweet cutting my throat! What a joke!
The issue was Russel making fake alliances the day he’s voting that same person off. It’s a great way to make enemies and a bad strategy
In fact, her every single vote was for the eliminated contestant, meaning *ZERO* whiffs.
