What’s your favorite running joke? Mine is crystals challenge incompetence being mentioned in every Gabon character analysis video no matter how insignificant it is to the story
Mr crowley was my science teacher in high school for a year, he was just as genuine, smart and creative in person as he was on the show and made GHS one of the best schools in my county. He was an amazing teacher and amazing person. We were all so happy he won, we held a celebration after the final episode aired, and he was still so humble about the entire thing. Even to thia day he is still doing his mainer thing, and i think has been doing his own kind of survivor-esque type thing in northern Maine. We all love Bob!!
Do u have instagram to communicate? Can I see photos of know more? Am very curious because Bob is my favorite winner ever, I’d love to know the school!
Between how petty everyone is compared to how nice Bob was I’m kinda willing to forgive his strategical blunders because he’s just so likable you want him to win anyway
To think, Jimmy Johnson was supposed to appear on this season, but due to health reasons, he couldn’t participate, so Bob took his place. And the rest is history.
If Bob had suddenly turned egocentric and claimed he had taken control, then I actually think he would have lost more votes. He was true to himself, for better or worse, which is what I think is the most important part.
he’s the biggest deal over here in maine and really represents what it means to be a mainer 💛 i had the pleasure of meeting him and he’s the nicest dude and told amazing stories!!
As much as your criticized him making the deal with Kenny, I love how Kenny’s understanding of the deal was “hey, I’m sorry I made a fool out of you. I’ll drop out of the game.”
I was rooting for Bob solely out of science guy solidarity while thinking in the back of my mind he probably wouldn't go all the way since he was too nice for the game. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised to be wrong.
Bob was my pick to win on episode 1, and he went the distance. He wasn't very strategical, but he was a great guy, great in challenges, and deserving of the win in a season with all this chaos. Honestly if he was more aggressive he'd likely be more disliked by the players and been voted out.
Bob is my favorite winner so far! I feel like even though I’m half his age and a lady that if I were ever on survivor I’d have the same “strategy”. Less about being cunning and backstabbing and more about personality, helping others, and staying out of big drama. Plus his bow tie and Maine accent are ICONIC!
Had Bob had another chance to prove he was one of the greats, he would have been regarded in a better light than a winner because he is the better pick than the other two
I love Bob's immunity run and frankly the failure of Matty because the persistent assumptions of muscley guys dominating individual challenges is one of my pet peeves on Survivor. It comes up like every season despite a ridiculous number of examples of if you can't do puzzles you're really not actually much of an immunity threat.
It seems players do not remember that it's only the first couple of challenges when the 2 tribes are full that are very physical. Then it gradually changes to endurance, balance and puzzle solving.
@@omisan771 Precisely. A muscly guy also will suffer the lack of food the most. Skills degrade. I'm not saying the dude with the 6 pack isn't an issue. But the skillset for winning Individual challenges isn't really something you practice at the gym.
I don't think Bob's final tribal council was ~that~ bad tbh. With the egos on that jury, it would have been ridiculous for Bob to try to pretend like he was some secret mastermind behind the scenes making strategic moves left and right. Sometimes just having the humility and awareness of what your game actually was goes a long way with the jury
Honestly, this season is hated because of the lack of strategic threats and fights/drama and stuff, but I'd much rather watch Gabon than any of the last few seasons of the show. So much more entertaining. And Bob was a perfect winner for Gabon, there is really nobody else that would have been a suitable winner besides him.
Ive gotten to do some volunteer work for Bob for his Yurt Campground he started, and he is such a joy. As a Mainer, he really gave me hope for getting on the show, especially after our conversation about the game and how he got there.
Bob lived not far from me and spoke at my school shortly after he won and I don’t know if he still has it but he ran a 2 day survivor experience for people to try I was to young to appreciate it at the time but it was really cool to live in the same town as him
some people say that Susie should of won over Bob but I disagree 100% like when you look at everything bob has done here and compare them to what Susie has down not to mention comparing likability Bob was the better choice than her to win especially since Bob made a fool out of Ken which that was the best moment from Bob in my opinion
@@LiamOHora he sure did! I remember that video actually!! I remember the lunch ladies he had in it too! God I feel old 🤣 he was a beacon of happiness in those halls, we had his homecoming celebration for him winning it all the day after the final episode over in the old gym on the other side of the park, where the voting happens it was packed!
Bob has always been a top tier character winner in my heart, which is something idk if I just made up, or if other people have that divide too. He was a shocking Challenge beast, and while he may not have the best strategic game, he doesn't really need it, because his social and physical game were always going to get him close to the end. What I mean by winner character is that, he's not the smartest or the strongest, but like Sandra, he has some really funny moment, great camp life segments, and is one of the best tribal council performers in the show, not counting FTC. The problem I see with Bob's game and what makes him my favorite and most fascinating winner is that, I don't think Bob ever expected to make it to the end or win, so he had no reason to ever be anyone but himself, and that in it's own way is really endearing to me. He won by being "better than Susie or Sugar," but let's be real, that was always the way Gabon would go the moment Charlie was out, and that's really all he needed. The majority of fans may consider him unworthy of his win, but I see him more as the weird little example of doing exactly what it was that he specifically needed to do to win, no more and no less.
Bob was the first person I saw crowned Sole Survivor so it's really interesting watching this video after having not revisited the season since it aired. I specifically remember his fake idol play on Randy (really the entire episode in general) and loved ones visit as being huge moments that got me in to the show for the long run. Gabon really is a sleeper of a season and the hot mess holds a special place in my heart
Myself coming right off the video dedicated to Sugar, let’s give her her flowers - she wanted good people to make it to the finale, and I’m sure she was happy to see Bob win.
Fun fact, had mike won in 42, he would have been the oldest winner at the time of filming, but bob would still be the oldest at the age crownes due to covid guidelines. On the other hand, had Susie won, she would have been the oldest winner until gabler who would be the only winner over 50 in this hypothetical
Bob didn’t need to be aggressive, that type of gameplay would’ve gone your torch snuffed quickly in Gabon lol. Everyone was mad and looking for a reason to vote someone out. Bob is a unique winner and likable but I still think Susie should’ve won. Either way still cool that one of the nice people won in a mean spirited cast!
Make good relationships, that can give you a win and save you from being voted out in a rare case when you don't win immunity. Doesn't sound like a bad strategy.
I think his best shot at a return now is a blood vs water season, as it would be the only grand parent/grand child team to play at this point, which would be cool to see. Or maybe a fans vs winners season if they go back to preseason 40 players.
I think if we can somehow pull a narrative out of our asses for this season, it would be that sometimes a group of people is a giant hot mess, and the best way to deal with them is not to try and control them, but go with the flow and keep your head above water. I think Bob managed to do that very well, and I think that is why he won this season. Although he may not have had the best "on-paper" game, he clearly was the best at knowing how people reacted and responded to things. Whereas people who tried to play with strategy like Corinne, Kenny, Marcus, etc. all got cut for being threatening. What's more is I think this can all be traced back to how people interacted with Sugar. I mean, the girl was basically alone for half the game, obviously she has no real allegiance and is just playing mostly for herself, and Bob was one of the only people to go with her plans and appeal to her game as an individual as opposed to a part of a plan or alliance or deal. Just what I noticed.
I love Bob. His fake idol will never be bear. Crystal, however, makes sense how bad she was in the game as an "Olympian" because she was stripped of her results for doping.
To think if one person voted for Susie instead of Bob we'd be watching a Susie story video instead 😂. In a season of petty people I guess Bob's personality was one of his best assets.
Bob went form not being on Survivor to winning the game! Bob might not have been best player ever but he great for his age and his likable enough to me!
@crazyinsanepenguin I meant dating... But more facts Julie Berry from a previous season was Jeff's girlfriend at the time of filming and she helped cast Bob. He was her old high school science teacher.
AS SOON AS THE FAKE IDOL CAME UP, I REMEMBER MY FRIENDS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL GASSING BOB! Apparently they were ahead of the curve watching it as it aired, lol
Crystal. I really hate it when people mention her doping to excuse her extremely poor physical performance. You don't go from being a regular person, dope, then win an Olympic gold. She was already an elite athlete, probably top 30 , at least, on the planet. Before doping. Don't deny us the hilarity of this woman's incompetence by giving flimsy, non existent reasons.
I think it works out for Bob that Matty wasn't with him in the Final 3 with Sugar. Charlie, Corinne, and Marcus might still vote for Bob but I think Randy definitely votes for Matty instead of Bob. Randy liked Matty since the beginning of the game despite being on different alliances in the end.
Whats with the dumb / smart, hero / villain texts popping up during the video, is it depending on what background music is playing? Example: villain gets villain music etc

@@chargestone96I give Matty maybe a 20-30% chance voting for Bob because Matty was also shown to leave on good term with Bob based on their interactions shown on the show on Day 38 but yeah putting Matty firmly on Susie’s corner makes it even less likely Bob would get more than 4 votes regardless.
