    Great ideas ... over the years I have hand cut stencils for silk screen prints out of plain paper (like copier/printer paper). Once I made a large skull print and couldn't be bothered with the tedious task of cutting tons of "cracks" not unlike your stencil so came up with a different although a tad random technique. I made a basic burner using a small glass jar with a small hole punched in the metal lid. Then I made a wick and filled the jar with methylated spirits. A fine needle held in locking pliers heated up in the flame and then used to create a pattern by burning it. It works.

      That is genious! Like evil genious genious 😄 haha , There are stencil burners on the market too. And a burner works great and does the job faster and smoother too! I like how you made one yourself that is really cool!

    Instead of cutting the template on a cutting board swap it for a piece of glass! It is so much easier the glass doesn't grip the blade or blunt the blade, try it out I think that you'll be surprised. Plus instead of turning the blade turn the template in the direction you want to cut. The template is easier to move. They actually sell glass cutting boards in the craft shop's with measurements, squares, angles etc printed on the reverse! I just use the glass out of an old picture frame.

      @@lureblanks I used to use acetate and cut out my intricate patterns etc the very same way. I was stubborn at first thinking that it would blunt my blade! I tried it out one night and I stopped up all night cutting out my template's. I can't understand that no one else hasn't told you about it before now! I struggled for year's cutting out on a nylon cutting board. My blades lasted a long time with the glass as I was using at least 5 per day when I was cutting new stencils on my chopping board or my self healing mats!

    What is the best way to prep chrome baits for painting I'm finding mine scratch easy with 4050 gloss for base coat .

    • @lureblanks
      @lureblanks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would suggest giving your lure a light sanding before painting, it may be that the lure surface is too smooth causing the paint to not addhere that wel, giving it a light sand with some fine grit sandpaper will make your 4050 stick much better and should solve the problem 😉
