Tip- get a car wash sponge 🧽 and make a sandwich (sponge on bottom, then bait, then the hoop mesh on top) the mesh will form to your bait better. No helping hands needed with scale pattern then. Hope this helps 👊🏻
Another awesome video. Have learned a lot and have another new hobby now!! Very much looking forward to the clear coating video using the two-part epoxy you discuss.
When you do the sides: lay it on a thick rag or a soft sponge then use the hoop. Also, I can’t tell which way you had the hoop turned, but get use to having the side of the hoop the net comes out of down on the bait. It works better when you have to roll the netting and also helps when painting a flatter bait.
As a former cross stitcher, lay the material on top of the smaller hoop, open up the larger hoop and lay it on top, pressing down and tighten up the thumb screw.
I leave my stencil (netting) a little looser makes it easier to form it to the bait. And like someone said already use the side the netting is closest to the hoop side so the hoop doesnt get in your way. Ive done baits with the hoop and with the clamps both are actually a need to know technique.

That was a great idea and it worked well, thank you to you wife (Mrs.Baker)👏👏😃
I also use a thick sponge and cut it to fit inside the hoop. Allows the hoop to fit over both and fit the contour of the bait. Nice work.
Good thinking!

I would love to see more work with the hoops. Seems like a great idea.

Sponge is an awesome idea! Lets the bait compress without scratching. Smart!
Man, that is a very simple but very nice looking bait
I just got into painting baits, and I’ll take any ideas that work ! Thanks Zac !
Nice bait color. I also paint bigger musky lures so I have a 12” hoop with netting with larger holes along with this size
Im using the Loop since i do airbrush...IT IS the best method to get a good pattern!!!
Nice tip
Beautiful as always! I need to get me a hoop. I struggled a little on that shad bait I sent you a picture of. This would make it 10x easier!
Thanks for the ideas and tips. Appreciate you taking the time to make the video!
Thank you! Got your order too, should go out today!
@@BakerBuilds Thank You!

What epoxy coat are you using here?
Would you send the stencil to australia
Two questions # 1 is where can I find the eyes like you use,and #2 is what clear coat do you use?
These eyes are from Barlow’s Tackle! Here is the link barlowstackle.com/3-D-Adhesive-Lure-Eyes-532-Inch-P968/
Clear coat is a two part epoxy from Promise Epoxy. It’s their Art Resin with UV Protecting

@@BakerBuilds thanks for the link. It was your videos that got me started painting. Never air brushed before.
Right on! Its crazy fun catching fish on baits you made haha @@denladue6423
How much would you charge for a a sheet of logos? It’s only 2 words
I saw another guy use this same hoop but he put the bait on a sponge and stuffed in the hoop. The bait did not move.
Keep the material in the hoop looser then it covers the bait better.
First one!
That was faster then it loaded on my screen 🤣
@@BakerBuilds I got all excited to see a video alert pop up on my TH-cam went straight to it
