Will, great job so far again! Love your clarity. We have 2006 FTE manual. We changed our 5th gear ratio so it now revs at 2050rpm at 100kph. Before it was reving at 2400. It’s a mess ch better truck for us as we do a lot of highway driving. It’s not ideal for towing though. The auto Factory FTE revs at 2030 at 100kph. We found that out fuel consumption went down from 13.2 to 10.2L/100klm.
Great to hear from someone who has done this. I did consider a taller 5th gear- definitely a potential future mod as I don’t do much towing and would love to reduce fuel economy. Thanks for the comment! 😊
Cheers mate! Not sure about Finland but there’s definitely options here in Australia that might ship overseas? Performance Diesel Intercoolers in Perth supplied mine and they are great to deal with
Again Will this is so good. You have a real knack for this communication I feel. Really helpful. Have you done anything with the cooling system? Is it all standard - Toyota radiator/viscous clutch/fan etc?
I'm searching for a instrument cluster to suit 2004 HZJ105R. Do you have 1 or someone who might have what I need please mate? It's proving impossible to find
It hasn’t been for a drive yet, but seems to be fine just idling and revving on the hoist. Will definitely cover that if I come across issues under load on a drive
This is making me keen to get rid of my 1hz so I don’t have to constantly monitor EGT’s 😂 also I think your rear tail shaft is in the wrong way, slip joint supposed to be at the transfer end? Unless mine and others I’ve seen are wrong
Also as for the clutch line, get a braided line made up, running a H box in mine and did that. Works good and the braided line engagement is much better
@@sandy_dogs138 I think a turbo on the HZ is a good idea, but perhaps worth doing some internal work before asking too much from it. Lots of options out there like ceramic coated pistons and race bearings etc. just to prevent the same thing happening
@@sandy_dogs138 As far as I know, if your conservative with the tune (i.e. not too much fuel) and keep egt's in check, then they can be fairly reliable. But definitely not as reliable as the stock ones (or the HDTs)
Best thing I ever did to my 105 was put the in the FTE, it’s the best motor Toyota ever made 👌
The way the 105 should have come from factory 🙌🏼🙌🏼
My dad did an ft conversion in his, it's so damn good.
Love this so much, I nearly got a 1hz cruiser from watching your content
Lovely Ep and job so far guys,

Well done mate
Nice 105 mate!!!!!
Nice work.
Best thing I did was FTE my 105
Thank you Will!! You are the MAN!💪Here in Finland impossible to find bigger injectors, can you help me?😊

Would still recommend Baldurs cheap and completely stand alone ECU for diesel engines, DID1 for your engine swap! :D

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, all standard Toyota. Using the 1HZ radiator/shroud/yellow dot fan. Running red coolant
Thanks Will@@WillsLandcruiser
hello, my friend please do you know where the factory differential lock ECU connector is located on the hzj105? THANKS
Manstaaaabbs Broo !… come to 🇲🇨 for adventure !.. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
That buzzing for the next episode is for your abs pump there is a fault with it or something is unplugged/ low fluid
Yes or perhaps someone (me) that couldn’t tell a black-yellow wire from a yellow-black wire 🤔😂
Hi mate can you make a blank plate for an N70 hilux we’re the ash tray goes??
We talking ash tray delete and filling the hole with a switch panel plate of sorts?

I have a Dec 02 HDJ100 cluster I’d like to sell. Not sure if this will help you or not
Did you have to run bugger fuel lines? I thought the fte needed larger lines.
It hasn’t been for a drive yet, but seems to be fine just idling and revving on the hoist. Will definitely cover that if I come across issues under load on a drive
Looking good mate! What gearbox cross member and mount did you use? cheers
Thanks! Used the cross member and Mount that was existing on the R box

Mate I think you might be right- good pick! 😂 better swap that over. Cheers 🍻
does it use the same engine mounts?
Yes same engine mounts, just wanna swap that drivers side engine stand for a HZ one
A very large project
I've decided not to turbo my 1hz now lol
FTE the world 😆
turboed my 1hz 105 a year ago. Big improvement. Worth it!
I'm at 10psi with 1HD-T bits. Highway use sees about 400.
@45Ninjat everyone that I've seen turbo their 1hz ends up blowing up the engine after a while so idk
