What a great series. I enjoyed watching and exploring with you. You would make an amazing travel show host. The vineyards reminded me a lot of the Cape wine area in South Africa. When I watch these videos I feel a longing for a place I haven’t even been yet.

The meat pies you enjoyed, which looked scrumptious, are another British tradition that Kiwis and Aussies inherited that, like cricket and rugby, never quite made the translation to Canada. Much to our loss, I'm afraid. The scenery from your ferry ride reminds me a lot of Vancouver Island.

I think i want to buy property in Marlborough as well,always loved that area,that Pork Belly Pie sounded insanely good,if you ever get to Wairoa near Hastings,there was a pie shop there back in the day,that had 28 different flavours of pie,pie heaven!!!!

My daughter lives in Blenheim. It's lovely there. If you ever pass through our small town of Darfield near Christchurch the bakery here sells great pies.

It definitely does! 😁👍 my partner and I took my little hatchback car all the way around the South for a while just having fun in each of the towns then got to Wellington and took off and drove around the North Island just because we were bored and wanted something else fun to do 😀.
Delicious steak and cheese pies are common in Oz and NZ, did you have sweet potato chips? it's almost worth travelling to the other side of the world just for the pies alone, I've never seen one in the UK, British pie makers are really missing a trick.
Uk pies tend to be more solid - less gravy. My grandma's meat and potatoes pies were delicious! If you are in the UK I'd always go for a pasty! Thank you for watching :)
There are some pie shops just like that one you found all over NZ in places that don’t get a mention......you just gotta find them as you do when you travel....there always homemade or baked on-site. Then again you get a lot of average pies too.....
We went to Fairlie but it was about 7pm and everything was closed (apart from the local chippy which was delish). We'll have to come back and try the pies! 😊
Have you never heard of the pies in Fairlie? I've had a salmon and cream cheese there, a pork and apple with cracking on top of the crust but last time I went through on the way to Wanaka the queue outside the pie shop was just too long to wait. Then there's the pies in Sheffield (Between Darfield and Springfield west of Christchurch) I'd rate them second best in NZ after Fairlie but I'll admit I hadn't heard of the Blenheim ones...I will try them. Do they have pies in the North Island???

Not gonna lie, l live in Christchurch and used to do a weekend trip in the campervan just to eat my fill of salmon and bacon pies from the Fairlie bakehouse. Luckily, especially now that fuel has gone up so much, l've found out a cafe in Christchurch stocks them.

You cannot beat the pies in NZ. We have nothing even close in Edmonton, AB Canada. (expatriate kiwi). When we comer to NZ it's one of the first things we get is a real NZ meat pie.
So much to do in the laid-back Marlborough province from Picton to Havelock to Blenheim to Kaikoura. The Wine, the weather, the fishing, the seafood, the fruit and local produce. the hikes or walks or just lazing in the Marlborough sounds.

The south island is a fun place to visit, I had heaps of fun down there even though I was born in the North I think I've had more fun down south.

It's Haast pass not hast pass. Please pronounce things correctly. Sounds more like Harst not hast
