Just replaced mine but had a problem. I took out the broken indicator and didn't install the new one for a few days and had a heck of a time with the white bracket. I compared my new Ford one with the one I took out and found the white bracket was backward. Turned it around and it now works perfectly. Thanks for the extra step Ford.
thanks man, your video was very helpful. I am in my 60's so I removed the front seat, that made if much easier to get the screws back in. I can't bend and stuff, like I used to. LOL
Weird...just bought a rqnger, noticed the selector was a bit on the off the mark posiition..its hanging in there.?. Great video....appreciate that friend...
Thanks for showing the loop on the hook!I was trying to place it on one of the little pawl and couldn't understand why it was out of alignment!Use the big metal hook!
Yea man that TPMS was broken when I got the truck, I just never bothered fixing it. Unfortunately, you will not get any more videos of me working on my Ranger, I totaled it in a accident about a year ago.
The more pain in the ass fix... is when that damn loop breaks.... Best diy fix i found , next to complete removal and replace with new... Is a crimp-on wire terminal that fits the big pawl hook of the shifter.
Does the white bracket has any cables?,cable with eyelet hook attached to stud down there when u were not able to shed light...where its located.i have ford windstar 2000 and could not located?
Pull the loop off the hook (Then spin the old broken assembly off.) When you assemble the new one, put the black adj. wheel in the new assembly. Then feed the loop thru all at once. Turn the New assembly about half way up the threads- then secure screw and put the loop back on the hook,
Your title was a little confusing. You state "Installing New Gear Shift Indicator: Ford Ranger ". You actually installed a new indicator cable bracket. Big difference

I need to know how you remove the gear shift indicator card, which way do i spin the wheel & does the red cord just pull up & off the hook it's on?
