You basically have to intentionally try to get low disposition. Almost all of the dark brotherhood quests give you a a major boost to the members disposition and they automatically have a bonus once you join. You need to fail multiple quests in order to get low disposition
I've never seen an NPC spring up from a paralysis spell like that. As always your videos reveal to me something I haven't seen in the past 16 years playing this game.

didn't even know you could become Faelians' "friend" in the quest, I just talked to the people at the inn and then followed him out of the hotel to the abandoned house picked the lock and killed him
I think Faelian did the black sacrament on himself. He is clearly depressed and spiraling out of control, not to mention it provides a motive for the murder of Lorkmir, in order to do the black sacrament. It also makes sense for the request to have no witnesses since people with depression dont want to be a "burden" to others. He is not phased at all when the player offers to take his soul. I think he wanted to die and asks the player to get him high one last time as he drifts off into oblivion
It’s moments like these that remind me of the mood differences between Oblivion and Skyrim such as Oblivion having moments of genuine creepy/disturbing moments but usually having a colorful atmosphere same with the NPCS but Skyrim having a more Bleak setting since it’s set in a war torn time period and NPCS having to deal with grief. like even the overworld music for these two games are polar opposites from each other with Oblivion having a chill laidback summer vibe too it but Skyrim has an almost melancholic vocal track playing while you trudge through cold broken down remnants of buildings. heck the Morrowind/Dragonborn DLC overworld theme has a sort of Other worldly or land before time vibe in it's music to go with that mysterious and alien feel. And it's all Jeremy Soules fault for making these sublime soundtracks.
I know Skooma is a magic drug that reduces intelligence and all, but something about Faelin just stuttering around his sentences like he's always high just seems so funny to me. Like he's never not super high.
The bonus was based on the idea of killing him in a non-public place. Not anything about the hotel. All we are given is that he is a high elf, his name and indeed he lives somewhere in the city. So, in theory, all we know, all we are given, might then well be all the one who asked for the killing knew. Therefore, the hotel and its guests are out. In theory, anyone who might have say, fancied his girl, would have known where to begin looking. Meaning, its far more likely that the one that hired us was someone tied to his addiction. Someone busy enough as to not be able to follow him around, so not another addict, not some peasants. Lorkmir or perhaps a relative of his that knew Falien. Lorkmir is and has likely been dead now for a while, the house is in terrible disrepair though they might well have also been using the skooma. Why kill Falien though? I think it's the vendor in Bravil. Stuff isn't cheap. Can't pop on over to the Imperial City. Would perhaps have extended a line of credit to Falien. Wouldn't know much more about him than his name, race and general home location. Doesn't mention that he is a former noble. Lorkmir at least had a house, collateral. If they were both using and one slew the other, inability to repay his illicit debt and the loss of one that had property to be claimed, well, that would be rather terrible for business. Yes, the vendor of the skooma in Bravil. His losses, debts that would be impossible to expect repayment.
Actually I have given it further consideration and while I still believe that the contract was given by the vendor, I think I might have figured some more out. Now, he goes around looking for skooma, returns to Lorkmir's house to use it, but the hours are quite specific. His hours. I bet that he used to go there and was given skooma. That he would sell his body and those hours were and indeed are still the hours he is free to be with his friends. If anyone asks, friends, if the guards were to ask or indeed if his lady friend were to ask. Just friends. His lady friend though, she followed him a few times. Followed him there. She has a dagger on her belt, steel, I think. Same as the one found beside Lorkmir. Faelin doesn't have such a nice blade, iron, correct? If his lady friend were to have been the one to kill Lorkmir, then she wouldn't admit it. But Lorkmir would be dead, had he been the one buying from the vendor in Bravil, that vendor would get suspicious and would likely suspect Faelin. Always there. Might have wanted more Skooma. Yes, I think that ties it all together nicely. She bought another similar dagger to hide her involvement.

I don't even know how you could lower all of the Brotherhood's dispositions low enough for them to absolutely annihilate you with every conversation, but I feel like it would lessen the blow of the whole- you know- cleansing, if that's how they were like by default.
Honestly I think that Lorkmir is much more likely than the rest of the suspects because the Dark Brotherhood had very little information about Faelian from whoever arranged the contract. If it was his girlfriend or the publican, they would have known where he lives and told the DB. Lorkmir would have been a lot more likely to not know where Faelian lives.
I was so sad for this quest ngl. Vince the prince was my homie. He helped make me the man i am today. Disciplined, Detailed and meticulous, if only when the job is concerned. Lucien was cool and all, but he wasnt nearly as classy. Broke my heart when i had to kill Vicente...
question: if you forfeit the bonus, Ocheeva states that Amadeus Phillida suspects the dark brotherhood and will investigate further. does this actually change anything in the further story?
Suspect D might be Nordinor in Bravil. Seeing as it's his fixer. Faelian likely ran into debt getting his fixes. The Imperial City vendors of Skooma knew he couldnt pay up anymore and refused to sell him, but Nordinor might not have had access to this information. Seeing Faelian as his previous self a rich man, Nordinor might have thought to earn quite a buck, though as a skooma dealer he will know a deadbeat when he sees one. Resulting in a hit that would not put suspicion on his illegal dealings. It's quite possible Lorkmir was Nordinor's in-city proxy and ran into a conflict of interest with Nordinor, that Faelian wasn't paying his tab and Lormir now had to cover Faelian's debt, which he didn't want to do. Faelian might have witnessed Nordinor killing Lorkmir, which he leanred about later, but is now on the lam, and so the Dark Brotherhood is hired to silence a witness before word gets out. Conveniently Nordinor is hiding in the very town the Night Mother and Listener residesand so he might have had that hit ordered quickly.
This quest actually makes me sad now tbh, it's a realistic problem in a fictional world and affects loved ones very much in this as it does in real life.
I always thott it was Atraena. What made me suspicious was her slip: she mentions that she thinks Lorkmir's house is deserted. If it's the man's house, then why would it be? We find his body in the basement. She helps the player because she knows exactly who you are. She's prolly known that Lork's been dead this whole time and involved the Dark Brotherhood to scrub any evidence she had knowledge of the killing keeping her wealth and reputation in tact.
Oblivion loves plot twists and tying in previously met, seemingly innocent characters. They like unexpected endings! Before watching this video my guess was actually that it was Atraena, just knowing how these writers like to do things.
Even though it only has like nine voice actors they manage to have fun with it sometimes. Oblivions NPC's are sometimes great. Also that was some move he pulled standing up.
Bro im loving these deep dives, oblivion is the best game, it came at a time when games were too linear. It changed everything for rpg/fantasy games. Dragon age is another good series that i think came because of elder scrolls👍🇦🇺
I don't know if I've asked this before, but is there any chance you'd do a Path of Exile lore playthrough? Loooot of content potential, a lot of it quite dark, but a pretty big undertaking.
outside the Imperial city near the Stables is a Dealer by the name of Shady Sam and he sells Skooma. i think its 3 bottles the number is irrelevant but still at least you don't have to go to Bravil the city's the butthole of Cyrodil.
Curious, you going to also maybe cover the quest where you brake a tenant in a like a smaller video seeing as it is technically a quest too? Love the oblivion videos, even in 2022 going to 2023 I'm still playing it!
That's totally not how assassins would operate though. An assassin walking around hotel asking about his victim, especially asking victim's wife, and talking with a victim, is very bad because it will make the assassin the main suspect as after victim is killed guards will ask his relatives and hotel about any suspicious people who asked about victim or were seen with a victim.

My fav thingwhen I did this quest I got annoyed trying to find him only to run into him
Man I wish Skyrim had the writing that Oblivion has I don't know about anyone else watching this video but is it just me or did oblivion's quest to have more love put into them?
It’s probably true.
Better writers.
Actually it was Delos of the Feed Bag, his girlfriend and Augusta. Clearly a conspiracy.
love how you narrate and teach me the oblivion lore, keep up the work man
I've never seen a bald high elf in the Elder Scrolls till now.
I don't even know how you could lower all of the Brotherhood's dispositions low enough for them to absolutely annihilate you with every conversation, but I feel like it would lessen the blow of the whole- you know- cleansing, if that's how they were like by default.
It's genuinely not normal & a pain that ppl dont know
Claudius Arcadia has a black sacrament in their basement. Idk if that means anything
He wanted rufio killed...I always assumed rufio killed Claudius daughter or possibly wife.
27:25 - 27:30 Skooma gives you superhuman agility when it wants to 😂
Honestly I think that Lorkmir is much more likely than the rest of the suspects because the Dark Brotherhood had very little information about Faelian from whoever arranged the contract. If it was his girlfriend or the publican, they would have known where he lives and told the DB. Lorkmir would have been a lot more likely to not know where Faelian lives.
His girlfriend wouldn't want to let you know she knows. If you kill him where he lives, then she becomes a prime suspect.
this channel perfectly scratches my Oblivion itch lol
I was so sad for this quest ngl. Vince the prince was my homie. He helped make me the man i am today. Disciplined, Detailed and meticulous, if only when the job is concerned. Lucien was cool and all, but he wasnt nearly as classy. Broke my heart when i had to kill Vicente...
Merry christmas Dash and a dastardly new year.
Faeliann should have realized theres no such thing as free skooma haha!
To search for the elves...
Darkelf: Im waiting!!!
"i dont know why im telling you this, but i think that i can trust you..."
Ok, what a breathtakingly fatal lapse in judgement.
Not gonna near the 1-minute mark I almost choked on my drink when you said that Ocheeva was reading the Lusty Argonian Maid lol XD
Do wish there was the option to poison the Skooma as an option to make it even more discreet
Man was just riding the skooma train to nowhere.
The ever crouched crotch cutting Antoinette Marie got me laughing pretty hard. Lol
question:
if you forfeit the bonus, Ocheeva states that Amadeus Phillida suspects the dark brotherhood and will investigate further. does this actually change anything in the further story?
no
Suspect D might be Nordinor in Bravil.
God, I love a well thought out motive.
@@DarkLOREDash Thanks
I really need to get my ps3s disc drive fixed. Games just sitting on the shelf taunting me.
Get the PC version, the mods make it so much better.
this is my favorite voice actor in oblivion. especially that sko-sko-skoooma! line :)
I always wished i could poison the skooma and give it to him to kill him. make it look like he ODed
This quest actually makes me sad now tbh, it's a realistic problem in a fictional world and affects loved ones very much in this as it does in real life.
Merry christmas and a happy new years to all of you 🎅🎅🎅🎅
you’re the best man!!! merry christmas :D
Thank you kind sir
I always thott it was Atraena. What made me suspicious was her slip: she mentions that she thinks Lorkmir's house is deserted. If it's the man's house, then why would it be? We find his body in the basement. She helps the player because she knows exactly who you are. She's prolly known that Lork's been dead this whole time and involved the Dark Brotherhood to scrub any evidence she had knowledge of the killing keeping her wealth and reputation in tact.
the VA had way to much fun playing Faelian
It was me. You got me.
Oblivion loves plot twists and tying in previously met, seemingly innocent characters. They like unexpected endings! Before watching this video my guess was actually that it was Atraena, just knowing how these writers like to do things.
Any chance for a video talking about were you find your brotherhood members living a "normal" routine
DLD has to be paid for the 1970's-era overacting and William Shatner-esque breathing.
Love the videos
I don't know if I've asked this before, but is there any chance you'd do a Path of Exile lore playthrough? Loooot of content potential, a lot of it quite dark, but a pretty big undertaking.
Morrowind housing be like; 23:13
Dash went halfway across cyrodil for skooma when your boy shady sam deals out of the imperial city haha
He sprang up like a wildcat. Impressive
Bethesda has come a long way in their portrayal of addicts, from Faelian to Cait
14:00 rofl. that got me!
outside the Imperial city near the Stables is a Dealer by the name of Shady Sam and he sells Skooma. i think its 3 bottles the number is irrelevant but still at least you don't have to go to Bravil the city's the butthole of Cyrodil.
Curious, you going to also maybe cover the quest where you brake a tenant in a like a smaller video seeing as it is technically a quest too?
Love the oblivion videos, even in 2022 going to 2023 I'm still playing it!
Faelian is the Elder scrolls version of Gullum XD
That's totally not how assassins would operate though. An assassin walking around hotel asking about his victim, especially asking victim's wife, and talking with a victim, is very bad because it will make the assassin the main suspect as after victim is killed guards will ask his relatives and hotel about any suspicious people who asked about victim or were seen with a victim.
You're just trying to get me to send you some skooma... I see your game
There's a skooma dealer just outside the imperial city walls shady sam.
