They always offer a trip radar first, and if no driver accepts it, they keep requesting a regular trip. If drivers decline the regular trip, they repeatedly offer it again and again using the trip radar. This process is very frustrating and annoying. As a result, my acceptance rate is always between 1 to 5 percent.

      @calripplebear1293 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

yes, my acceptance rating has gone down a lot. And I am getting a lot less jobs per hour because I absolutely will NEVER take a trip radar ride. It has no map pickup and dropoff spots. and there are a lot of places in my city that I won't go to (Jacksonville) and the city is too big to learn well.

A trip radar went in once (for me) on XShare. After ignoring, it came through as regular, I had to accept to keep my surge, and then I cancelled. The pax was smart enough to re-request as a priority ride, and the fare was suddenly decent. I took him where he need to go, but explained how drivers are not being paid what we deserve. It sucks. Back in the day my AR was super high, it never fell below 95% - - many of us are going into regular jobs and Uber becoming secondary. More people are going to wait longer for rides or for their deliveries.

I'll see an offer come up, if I don't take it, I'll see it pop up on trip radar. Usually when I see it come up on radar the price drops about $0.50 to a $1.00 then it's happened where it'll come off of radar and come right back to me at the lower offer. Causing me to not accept the ride twice and affecting my rate 2x as much. It's so bad

@stefanosmartimianakis6999 might want to read what he said again. Offer #1 he rejects. It shows on trip radar he ignores it. It then come back as an offer at a lower rate and he rejects it's again. So yes, two rejections taking a hit on his acceptance rate.

Pay attention, when you have a rider who pretips, go look at the brakedown of where the money went... I guess it's easier to do where there isn't upfront fares but yea, the commercial insurance and service fee gets jacked up. I've also noticed how in areas with upfront fares they ping drivers from outside surge to come into surge and drive riders for no surge, but when you go back and check, they're charging riders huge surge and its all just stuffed in the service fee, sometimes up to what my cut is...

The other thing with trip radar. In a split second after getting it. Before I could even reach to the phone to except it’s already gone. and my acceptance rate is 85%. Yet somehow other drivers beat me to it. And if I’m moving down the freeway I’m now further from the consumer not closer to them. It comes back. And now I can read it. And I realize wow I was right there. Way back there. And that’s when I don’t bother excepting it. Because now I’ve added a mile possibly 2 miles from where the original hit came in from. It’s ridiculous

Reaqson you lose out on a potential trip radar, is not becasue somone clicked it faster, its becasue you and 100 others also got it. The other drivers dont get the same amount $$$ offer that you might, its based on who is closest that they will accept. so if you accepted a 10.00$ radar and your 2 miles away, the person that is 1 mile away only got offered 9.00$ and therefore they will take presidence over the offer as they saved uber 1.00. ITS NEVER WHO CLICKS FIRSTS, the person who wins radar is the one with the lowest accepted offer

  • @calripplebear1293
    @calripplebear1293 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

What I think with regards to improvements is this:
Each driver should be able to choose their list of options that they will or will not do.
    (1) They should be able to manually choose pickup/drop off destinations they are willing to go to (perhaps have a circular radius you can drag for each spot they will go to and will not go to.
    (2) Drivers should be able to manually choose the hourly rate they are willing to accept
    (3) Drivers should be manually able to choose the $ per mile rate they are willing to accept.
    (4) Drivers should be able to choose specialty fee rates (such as extra wait time fees, for customers who decide to piss your time away while you're waiting to pick them up).
    (5) Drivers should be able to choose cancellation fees, especially fees for such things as underaged minors who book rides and do not have an accompanying adult.
    (6) Drivers should be able to refuse multiple stops or be able to choose fees and/or charge for multiple stops if they are added.
    (7) Uber needs to block multiple stops from being added when a 2nd ride has been confirmed. I've had this happen, where a 2nd ride was booked, then the asshat 1st rider decides to add another stop, which effectively screws over the 2nd rider who is waiting for you to get to them.
    (8) Uber needs to make a much easier way to quickly view incoming ride requests. As it is, they make driving unsafe when they pop up, especially when they pop up during heavy traffic times when you are on the freeway. I do pray for those of you who have gotten into accidents from this very thing, that you file a lawsuit against uber. Because this app puts drivers in immediate danger when these pop-ups come up and you're busy on the road. Your forced to take your attention off the road and look over the ride. Especially if you're concerned over acceptance rating, you're forced to make a decision to take such rides.
    (9) Uber needs to alter cancellation fees. $5 for travelling several miles to pick up someone and having to wait, in addition to this travel time and gas, 7 minutes...for $5 is unacceptable. They have this very thing for unaccompanied minors because they want drivers to take the rides and therefore be liable for if anything goes wrong, while they still make money (just another way Uber doesn't give a shit about riders, but treats them like dirt).
    (10) Uber needs to show pickup and dropoff locations on both trip radar rides, as well as personally offered rides (the blue bar ones). To not show this info is to deceive the rider, intentionally done by Uber so that they can't see these things because they know the drivers won't take the ride if they know where on the map they are. Uber, stop being douches.
    (11) Uber needs to stop punishing drivers for not taking shit jobs. I will never take a job that pays $3,4,5,6,7. That is pocket change and half the time it isn't even worth me starting up my car. Stop giving me shit jobs uber. I'm worth more than that. Idiots. Remove your acceptance rating hit. In fact, remove acceptance rating altogether. Your perks for gold, diamond, etc are just a scam anyway. All those perks you can get from those you can get for free online.
    (12) Just close your company down. You people are immoral, disgusting degenerates that are pretty much hated by every driver who has been with you more than a few months and is intelligent enough to see all your pathetic, immoral tactics you use to screw over and manipulate your riders so you can make a buck. You disgust us and I can't wait for the day you are forced to file chapter 11. I will find great joy when this day finally comes to pass.

Trip radar isn't the issue. Upfront fares are the issue.
Best option would be more filters on destination. Example: Ride to my destination and only ride > 10 miles for example. After big events I'm looking for a ride back to my home area that is 30 miles from downtown. I want a nice surge ride back home. I'll decline 20-30+ rides until I find that one. Just give me the damn ride I can filter for in the first place.

Trip radar is distracting. Why should I have to look for exclusive on a ride when there is other information I need to check when a ride comes up. I think trip radar is a disguise that Uber uses to get the ride to the driver that they can pay the least amount for the ride. I have been driving more and more Lyft recently. Also the 7 minutes a driver has to wait to be able to get paid to cancel is complete crap. The rider requested the ride and should be ready when the ride gets to them. I cancel a lot after 2 minutes when it is busy. It pays just to loss the time and move on to the next ride.

i agree with you. i completely hate trip radar! i drive for uber and lyft in south texas and we primarily get the trip radar at the only airport from the 3 in the area that actually has a first in/first out queue and the trip radar circumvents by skipping drivers who've been waiting longest in the queue. i no longer push myself to reach diamond level again because of this. sadly, we don't get to see how much the fare is on any ride until it's completed. for gold and higher, we only see the duration of the trip and the long trips are where we make the most money obviously. for lyft, we don't have a FIFO queue at the airport so i could be sitting and waiting for a trip to come in from the terminal and lyft will throw a bullshit trip at me with a pick up 8 miles away and a dropoff 2 miles from the pickup. my acceptance rate on lyft is 9% because i refuse to take nickel and dime trips that don't pay well.

Trip radar has some serious issues. I have excepted many trip radar rides only to not get them. Now five minutes goes by. Sometimes 10 minutes goes by. I get the same request on trip radar. I’ll ignore it. Then it comes in as a regular call. I accept it. I pick up the consumer. And ask them. How hard was it to get a car. They will literally explain to me. It searched for a car for five minutes. A driver took it and canceled it. Another five minutes goes by. A driver took it and canceled it. Then I took it and showed up. What is the purpose of wasting a consumers time. Wasting a drivers time. And consumers are even saying it takes longer to get a driver. So what’s the purpose of it. It’s not working all that well.

What’s annoying is that you ignore the trip radar offer then Uber still directly send it to you, then again you ignore it to which it affects your acceptance rate. Riders are suffering too. Pick up to airport 22 minutes, drop the off $22 minutes for $12, early in the morning. If I didn’t make up my mind and go in one such request, the passenger would have missed their flight. Does anyone else have the problem of going online, then at the bottom of the screen it says “You’re Online”. If I am in an area that has a few drivers, this message will soon begin to toggle with another message: “Finding Trips”
However, if I go to an area that is saturated with other drivers OR if I have rejected a lot of requests,
the toggling stops and only the message “You’re Online” remains. When the app is in this mode, the ONLY requests that come through are trip radar requests. I take that to mean the app is NOT finding new rides for me and just sending the scraps.
If I stay in a driver infested area, it can stay in that mode for an hour or more.
But the minute I drive to location with less driver saturation, the message begin to toggle again and new requests begin popping up again.
I think it’s a very subtle way to throttle those who aren’t playing the game the way they want us to.

Trip radar is a holding point. For trips that are waiting to be assigned. Uber can’t pay drivers but they also can’t let the money go back to the rider. They would rather make the rider wait so long before a request is accepted by placing it in the trip radar. I think this is why I’m some areas riders complain about the length wait time before their request are accepted. I get this all the time. I have always told riders that Uber is the barrier here. Drivers are always around but the money offered on these request is garbage which means not being accepted and lengthening your wait time before your request is accepted.

Look LYFT and Uber, I declined the damn ride for a reason, I do not want it, so please stop sending it to me. Text the customer and tell them that there are no drivers in the area and they’ll have to try again later, it’s not that hard.

I do know that when a trip radar comes in, if I dont want it, dont accept, it often times will slap into being an ride request where my acceptance rate goes down. I go on "break" till it passes to avoid that crap. I do notice that if they want me to take a ride that is outside the boundaries of where I am going to drive. I have selected to stay in a small area when surge is popping to make the most $, I will get those radar requests for outside the area. Lyft is not lifting much lately! Yes the rides pop up in trip radar 90% not what I am looking for in the Phoenix market. I like up front prices and like knowing the destination. The big issue I am having is that most of pickups are a city away 10-15miles away to just pick passengers up. When I am sitting in area a lot of requests should be closer. Like casinos and downtown of cities, other spots with normal high demand. The app wants me go 13 miles away to pick someone up. There should be requests within a mile normally. I just turn off app for few minutes and turn it back on.

Trip radar is useful, especially now that they show maps. I may find a trip going in a direction I want to go, or a short trip. I like seeing things outside of my destination, because destination mode can be used like a tether line to keep you in an area. For example I may rout myself to an area I want to drive in and look for trips in trip radar that stay in the area I want to be. Destination mode is poorly implemented and rides it says going toward destination actually often take you away from area . I hate how Uber dings your stats when you reject rides that take you away from your destination. The crap they claim takes you toward destination is ridiculous. Tonight I was 7 min from home and uber showed me a ride pickup 14 mins away that go to a destination 40 mins away from my home. So how is a ride that takes me 33 minutes in opposite direction a ride that Uber says is going towards my destination? If I took that ride it would have added over an hour of time before I could be at home because you have to double the time for the round trip going in wrong direction. Destinatnation seems to exist to make it hard for you to reach your destination unless you regect lots of rides.

After the deal is made he has the customer cancel the ride and he subtracts any cancellation fee that the rider would receive from his offer. Easy Peezy lemon squeezy he says, plus these riders now have his phone number and he has them on a clientele list. Personally i don't really care if trip radar exist or not, as long as UBER not forcing the pop-up notification. Either make it close out or disappear, why I have to keep reach out and try to close it everytime. If I need to look for trip radar, there should be a button to open trip radar when we need it. Because sometimes there're are a good and fair ride request in there. UBER dont have to get rid of it but change to way it present to driver. Don't make it a nuisance trip radar.
