NO UPFRONT INFO IN MY MARKET: I work in Philly but NJ doesn't show me upfront info. So if I accidentally accept a ride into NJ, I would turn it off and head back into Philly.
Last night, I had a 2 hr $130 ride to northern PA. Thinking I could get a ride/rides heading towards Philly with Ride Destination, I took it.
Turns out that rural PA also doesn't do upfront info. I drove for an hr before it started giving me the info I needed to make adventageous decisions on incoming ride requests
I was hoping to make $200-250 but made about $160 on a 4.5 hr round trip bc of the lack of upfront info by Pottsville PA. It wasn't great but was a learning experience. Hopefully, this info will help others in my market.

All of those fares were Garbage!!! Up Front Earnings is just a Race to the Bottom, get rid of it and push for a more of a Safety Net Model. Minimum Fare amount, which includes $$$$ per mile and $$$$ per minute and with that you know you will be compensated fairly. Up Front Fares you will just get Bottom Feeders who will just be accepting Garbage. With me in Australia, all I see is minutes away and km away and map of where pick up location roughly is, Nothing Else. I just look at the minutes to pick up and the rough pick up location before I accept, because I know I will be compensated fairly with $$$$ per mile and minutes. I do not care about miles, all I care about is $$$ per hour. If I earn $46/hr or less, I have had a bad shift.

Even at the Diamond level, I am not given the fare or destination address, only the estimated time/distance to pickup, estimated time/distance to destination and a compass direction (N S E W). Even after I accept, the destination is hidden until the rider is in my car and I start the trip. If it’s a multi-stop destination, the other stops are a mystery as well until I click on the “go to next stop” button. I suspect it’s because my area hasn’t switched yet to upfront fares, but it’s ridiculous not knowing where they want me to go before accepting the trip.
And if I drop below an 85% acceptance rate, Im not shown any destination information at all. It happened to me recently and even after I got back over 85%, there was a day lag to get my “Uber Pro” benefits back.

It's where you are located. For instance, NJ does that... and I rather turn off uber and drive back to Philly than take rides blindly when my rides takes me into NJ.
It's crazy to make you pick up riders blindly. They won't chance unless you make them. If you and every else in your region stop driving then you would force them to chance. But everyone drives bc they need the money and can't fight the good fight, especially on their own. One of the few good reason for a union, I guess.

New driver. This game is perfect practice. I probably won't hit $30/hr in my area, but with newbie limitations, I can shoot for $20. My big challenge is a sprawling 7 city area with lots of tolls. I commute in from the outskirts of Hampton Roads, VA. I'm learning to stay in one city and keep a smaller radius. I've been in the habit of accepting my first ride, because it's usually good money, but I can land me anywhere. I'm not doing that any more.

What is this "money for miles" thing people do? It should always be for the time. $1 for every 2 minutes gets you $30 an hour, $2 for every 3 minutes gets you $40 and hour. It's the only math you need to know.
    1. Look at the $$ per minute. Are you going to average out $30 an hr... or what ever your goal is. But don't sell yourself short!!!
    2. See where it is going. Are you going to a ride dead zone? Accept a lower amount only if you want to go that direction anyway (final ride and heading home)
    3. See the rating of the rider. Don't get stuck in your car w an/multiple A holes for more than 10 minutes. It's just not worth it.

Most Uber drivers think they are like employees to Uber but this is not true. Uber drivers are the same owner operators as those in trucking business. When I stay home for rest out of driving truck I would also drive Uber. But Uber is always disgusting to drivers by giving lower rates on trips. If you are owner operators in trucking business you would consider how much the rate you get the load for total miles including deadhead miles. Because all the expenses including IFTA tax, diesel, registration and maintenance fees are switching to $ dollars per mile, and brokers will provide the information details of the load,of which most important is $/mile,then you will know this trip will be profitability or loss. Otherwise you should be considered as an employee without any expenses.😂

IF YES, THEN LOOK AT TOTAL MILES AND IF TOTAL DOLLARS BEING PAID FOR THE TRIP IS MORE THAN THE NUMBER OF MILES, THEN YOU HAVE A $30/HOUR+ RIDE!!

I just started uber and my promotional diamond club is gone. Points wise I'm gold (I'm doing this to pay bills while injured from driving semi-trucks) which is why i haven't been able to drive as much as most people can. I was told by a support member that while I'm driving if I don't accept rides that is won't effect my acceptance rate. Well that was a lie. I have a 51% acceptance rate because i didn't know what all I was doing wrong. Now I'm not able to see anything about a ride, except how far I am from a rider. I don't get to see how much I'll be paid or where that rider is going. I have been told by uber rep that the only way to get this resolved is you take every ride requests. Clearly i have no choice since there is no information at all. I'm thinking I should just quit ubering completely.

For instance, I get trips for 13 miles away, 4 mile trip. That is all I get. I'm constantly busy because I take anything I can get (there isn't 4 million people wanting rides out here). I drive 12 hour shifts 6 days a week and average 30 rides per day - which equates to anywhere between $150-$200 per day. I am a Diamond Level Uber and Elite Level Lyft - 4.98 on Uber/5.0 on Lyft. @Therideshareguy, This channel gave me the confidence to go ahead and drive Uber. Cherry picking $2 per mile was working perfectly, I stopped burning thru gas and was making $31hr consistently. But for the past two weeks, I haven't seen a trip over $0.85 (often less). I don't know what is going on, also I'm waiting as long as 10-15 minutes for ride offer. Today, I didn't get a ride offer for 35 minutes. I drive in Chicagoland, south loop, medical district to South suburbs. Every city is different..but for me.. I always pick the lowest paying short distance trips.
    1. They keepe in the city ..where it's busy
    2. They get me to my bonus quicker which is my #1 focus
    3. They keep me sane ..which means I stay motivated to keep driving
    4. They keep me in the city where we often have boost+ promotions throughout the day
    5. They keep me in the city which Is most likely to have some good surges throughout the day.
    6. I know my numbers..this strategy I always average $10 + per ride ..unless it's extremely slow.
    So on a 80 trips with a $200 bonus iake about $800 + $200 which is $1000 weekend
And most of the time it's more.

      3) add a stop after the initial ride has started
