I appreciate how you proactively explain why certain things aren't working the way you initially set them up and how to address those issues. It shows that you've really thought this through as a tutorial, whereas a lot of other tutorial makers do something, see that it doesn't work the way they expected it to, and have to troubleshoot it live. That said, GAWD, why do so many Houdini tutorials sound like they're being recorded by someone who's trying not to wake up a baby in the next room?
Very nice tutorial! thanks a lot! Unfortunately the restlength-manipulation is not working. I checked my Setup multiple times. Got correct masking but when i fit the restlength on the stretch-group "restscale *= fit01(1-f@mask, 0, 1) ;" , nothing is happening. It doesn react to the mask. I even tryed older Houdini-Versions but nope. Any ideas how i could fix this?
try to change restscale directily, just put some random value there and see if anything happens, if it does, then the problem is probably in your mask ( it might not get transfered to constrains ), if nothing happens, then check if you puting constraints in stretch group. Also check houdini version
@@arbikerimov thanks for your fast reply! yeah im still on it. I'm working on Houdini 20.0.506. Changing the restscale directly does work. Constraints are in the stretch group. i cant find any mistake in my setup. Is there any other way to transfer the mask on the constraints?
@@Think_Twice_2 make sure you also check that you have correct sopsolver settings, attribcopy and also enumerate node in place as shown in video, Should work. Otherwise idk what your case is
hi i have a slight issue, while adding the Avop for the custom width, the width attribute is not working i guess.. its not showing any width for me, but if i do the same thing in your provided file it works. any idea why this might be happeneing? thanks
@@raphaelmantion5212 that's strange , it was the same with mine aswell i think , but it wasn't visible. Maybe try to delete points where width = 0 , it might help
Thanks ! By setting angle scale higher value your basically making those constraints more bendy so to speak , so when simulation starts cloth would be a little bit bended already . Hope it makes sense
@@arbikerimov Yea all good then! Was just confused why want to force bend this way but if it was intentional to get that bulge shape then cool idea honestly.
Hello sir, i just bought the file and trying to recreate this effect but im having some issues on recreating the threads parts on mine doesn't work, im currently working with a similar shape to yours but in my case the trheads are all messed up any chance to help with this ?
Great tutorial man, also the free scene file is a gem for us new learners
@@nikhilb1502 your welcome my friend ❤️
The mask you built here is absolutely genius! Amazing work.
This channel is a gold mine. You will grow for sure !
Thanks ❤️

Well, that was the case basically 🥴
This is really a good tutorial👍
Thank You very much, Arbi!
Thanks so much, Arbi
dope!
how did i not know about attribute interpolate node? so useful!
Amazing! Thanks for sharing.
very useful, thanks!

you need to turn on "shade open curves", on geo node in "misc" tab
Even when @width = 0 the hair still shows up faintly in render view, how do I fix this?

@@arbikerimov I tried to blast if width=0 but didn't help sadly. Maybe it's in redshift settings somewhere
@@arbikerimov It did end up working, I just forgot to set the blast to points. Thanks!
Thank you soo much.
Good one. Nice techniques all around.
Why set cloth bend angle scale to 1.1 at the very beginning?
