How To Catch TONS Of Catfish FAST (So Easy)

- This is one of the easiest way to catch catfish there is and one of my go to techniques. If you want to catch tons of catfish fast this works , it doesn't require a lot of high tech gear or equipment, or even fancy rods and reels and it's so easy to catch fish anyone can do it. It's not a technique for loading the boat with monster catfish that reach trophy sizes but if you want a ton of fast paced action and to put a big mess of fish in the cooler this is one of the easiest ways to do it!

Thanks to your tutelage, I have had good success fishing punch bait this way. It took awhile to catch my first channel cat, but, by persevering, I eventually did. I have had many times of catching a dozen or more channels using this technique in a hour or two. You have to be actively searching for the right pattern--depth, cover, structure, etc. A great technique--thanks for teaching me how to do it!

A nearby private 40 acre lake had problems increasing bass and crappy despite restocking every year. I was given permission to jug fish, used chicken breast soaked in strawberry cool aid. Results was 1107 pounds removed, (released in a near by river). Largest was 52 pounds, returned all fish under 20 to the lake.

What water temp do the channels start biting? It’s about 65 in the lake and was curious when the shallow water channel cat bite would kick off.

If you want to rid the slack for better setting run a mono line instead of the braid. Braid is better for casting the slip bobber but mono will hold its position better and set lower in water vs drifting away. Figured id share that.
Yes. What you didn’t see in the video is I had to use the braid to pull free about 8 times. That’s why I use it.
@@Catfishedge haha I fish alot of heavy lily cover and love the braid for cutting through the lilys. So I understand that! Early spring up to dog days I'll ha e my sons rod Set up with braid. If we are fishing a open area we both have matching reels with mono. Otherwise we practice a slight reel crank every so many seconds to keep the line taught vs some wind/waves w.braid.

Wait until you are the lake and have tornadoes all around you. Don't try it. My dad did it to me once. If you don't have a radio, the lake going from busy to empty is a sure sign something is up.
I told dad, this lake emptied awful quickly. He didn't want to give up fishing,. He said it's alright. The lighting got him off the lake. We couldn't get the party boat in front of us out of the lake to get ours out. We had to put 15 people on that boat to get him out. He couldn't get trailered. This was before cell phones. I had 2 young kids with me. I was very mad at him for a while.

Chad, you really need to handle the 'doinkers' better. I, and my fishing friends, don't grab them like you showed in the video. The proper way we hold them is to slip your hand up their stomach. When you get to the barbs on the pectoral fins you keep your thumb on the side and slide the fish between your index and middle finger. Your other two fingers hold it on the side opposing your thumb. They keep the fish secure and keep you from tanglin' with the barbs. The way you do it, you could end up with the dorsal fin barb in your palm. :-)

Have you ever heard of suffix 832? 80lb braid and it has the thickness of 20lb mono. Recently switched to it and will never go back to anything else

Tons of small Channel catfish here in South Texas but why??? Come on guys it makes no sense! What happens to the larger ones do they just die off? There's no way they've all been caught so what happens when they turn 5 lb and up how do you catch them in the summer where do they go?? they must still be in the lake somewhere but I sure haven't been able to figure it out after many years of chasing cats honestly, it's very frustrating. Somebody please tell us what you know about this subject it would help a lot of us out!
From what TPWD has told me as blue catfish populations increase in a lake the size of channel catfish decreases
Thanks for the reply I do seem to catch better size channels in the winter but summertime it's all little dinks?it's like little ones are always happy to eat I wondered if the larger ones go too deep cover and that's why they're hard to find, just wondering?
