  • The early spring catfish bite had just started to pick up so I decided to head out and film and cover some tips on how to catch early spring catfish.
My clients called and canceled on me because they were afraid it was going to rain. I was at the marina with the boat in the water and already had bait so I decided to go out and film. I fished the first two places I stopped and had one bite and one fish so I made another move and caught a TON of blue catfish catching 24 blue catfish in 43 minutes.
I cover some early spring catfishing tips and show a bunch of action of me fishing shallow catching a big mess of blue catfish.
To get on the fast track using these techniques check out these products from Catfish Edge

Awesome video! Cool seeing a different side of you. I’ve read your spring fishing book and seeing you put all the pieces together was cool.
I think both types of videos are great! When you have a specific point or two to make, put together a short and sweet video like you’ve always done. But these longer more real life videos are good as another way of teaching.
One thought, I would have loved to seen your sonar as you found fish. What did you see on SI that made you stop? Those type of examples would be extremely helpful. Did you see three or four catfish streaks on SI or was it dozens? Etc.....
      Keep up the good work!

Man, I cannot figure out how to catch shad. I have been watching and learning from your videos for a few years now. It would be great as a fan to see and learn more about how to find and catch shad.
I also think I speak for many of us that we enjoy seeing bits and pieces of your personal life too. It's cool to see how rockstar fisherman are normal people as well. Just my humble opinions.
Have always loved this channel and most definitely plan on booking a guided trip later this year.

Another video I think would get a ton of views is how to find fish in the middle of the lake you and some others do. Beginners, like myself, only know how to fish visible structure on the banks, even from my boat. You've done some great videos on how to drift, but where and why are you are drifting to find the fish is the answers we (I) need.
Everytime I drift anywhere all I do is get hung up everywhere. Lol.
    These videos are awesome, nonetheless!👍

Jesse, it changes constantly based on water temperature and time of year, sometimes it's easy and sometimes it's a lot of work. In the early part of spring it's often a lot of work but as the water warms it gets much easier. I've got some tips on the website and here on my channel as well and also have a book that's all about shad and finding them through the year.

I like this style video. Things I learned after watching your video are 1. Keep moving until you find the fish (I'm bad about not doing this enough), 2. Use high visibility line - only two of my catfish poles have the high visibility line, but I'm changing that ASAP, 3. Use fresh bait - I always use frozen skipjack, bluegill, and other frozen cut baits and don't ever catch 24 fish in 43 minutes. Are you removing the scales on your bait, like using chunks of skinless meat? I just found your channel today and I subscribed. Tight lines and keep the videos coming.
