Honestly, he's in weird company here. He's not even really the "leader" of Team Yell, in the game the team yell people are operating on their own orders. Piers is just a chill dude who cares about his family.
The irony is that Cyrus and Lusamine are almost counterparts in the physical level (he's 27 years old while he appears to be 39 and Lusamine's 47 while looking to be less than 25)
I just love the concept of Rainbow Rocket. "Mafia expands portfolio to become interdimensional invaders in the one reality where they weren't owned into the ground by a couple of ten year olds."

What if we see Rainbow Rocket again in Gen 10 or later, this time adding the Alolan, Galarian, and Paldean villains to the roster? I could imagine that, without player character interference, Starfall Street fails and Penny has to watch Team Star get expelled. Then Rainbow Giovanni swoops in, picks them up, and Penny either tries to chase after, or also gets approached and rejoins the team as Cassiopeia fully... And Rose would pull off the Darkest Day successfully with Leon fully in support. With both the Chairman and Champion fully on board with it, the rest of the Pokemon League pretty much has no choice but to capitulate or be ousted. I could see Piers being a rebel here, and like Guzma, try to oppose, but he and Team Yell are horribly outnumbered. Giovanni shows up, recruits Rose and Leon, and then captures Marnie to force Piers' compliance, or else... This time, it's a Lusamine and Guzma who succeeded in breaching Ultra Space without opposition that join Giovanni. This time, there's no Colress around to stop them or Rainbow Rocket, and so all of the Pokemon dimensions are under threat from Ultra Space... Giovanni, seeing the potential that lies buried under Area Zero, comes across a certain pair of AIs that dwells down there. He convinces them that joining him will let them explore much more than the past and future, and even manages to get them freed from the shackles that keeps them trapped in the crystal caverns. And thus, Rainbow Rocket gets access to the "Time" Machine, as well as AI Sada and Turo to help them operate it... The only hope to stop this renewed Rainbow Rocket lies with a certain Pokemon Trainer, and a few helpful allies who have been chasing these villains across space, time, and dimensions...
@@HansWurst-vg8iu yeah Team Star (and actually Skull and Yell too while we’re at it) we’re never destined to be as impactful of antagonists as the classics. That said though, the secret antagonists of each game usually made up for the lack of a truly menacing gang-style team.
Ah the Pokémon Villains, some of the weirdest and psychopathic people in the RPG genre. Who could forget the Mob boss, The flashier mob boss, the emotionless spaceman, the pirate, the scientist, and of course, Dennis.
how is no one talking about N’s theme, it’s incredible and you can hear the intensity of the music and how it really feels like the end of the world kind of theme. it’s my absolute favorite
for real N, colress, and ghetsis have some of the best themes out of the entire franchise and they're barely talked about ever this is why we need some form of remake 😭
I want to point this out to those who have never played Gen 8 before, Sword and Shield. Team Yell captain Piers is also the VERY FIRST DARK TYPE GYM LEADER. For better context, Dark and Steel type Pokemon were introduced in Gen 2, Gold and Silver. Jasmine, Johto's steel-type Gym Leader was the first steel-type Gym Leader in the Pokemon franchise. We haven't got a dark-type Gym Leader in nearly 20 years until Piers and his little sister Marnie came along.
Nanu, I know, but he doesn't count. Island Kahunas are technically not Gym Leaders, though they are treated as such on the road to Alola's Pokemon League, as originally the Alola region did not have its own Pokemon League until the Gen 7 boy or girl finishes his/her Island Trial Challenge. Prof. Kukui pulled some strings in the International Pokemon League HQ to get Alola to have its own Pokemon League.
I am a Gen 4 diehard but Ghetsis’s battle music from the OG Black/White games was, and remains to this day, my favorite final boss music of all Pokémon games. The chanting. The drumming. A masterpiece.
It’s just that… it’s scary! After he loses it, he only wants to hurt you. The theme conveys that very well. I have zero doubts that if it wasn’t a game for all publics, Ghetsis would have very clearly used his Pokémon to attempt to murder you.

Love that team stars music is composed by Giacomo in universe. You can really tell the difference between the other themes that are trying to convey what the character is while all of Team Star's music is just raw Feelings, Friendship and Teenage Angst. Also Penny hella showed Giacomo Hopes and Dreams and EDM and was like "Can you make my theme like this!?" "😎👍"

Rocket was like a more effective Skull, look at all they accomplished, they even made a brand-new pkmn and took over a corp that invented another pkmn of their own. Plasma was close though because of what they did with Genesect. Galactic was the most ghastly because they didn't even know what they were doing, and their command wanted a universe without emotion. Just imagine how horrible that would be. Like the living dead.
I think quite the opposite. For me Flare (and Galactic) are the best since they posed a true menace to the balance of the world. And Plasma, of course.. While Skull (and Yell) are just meh to me. Don't like their (null) motivation and thug design. Although Guzma maining bug type is goat.

Ultra Mother Beast Lusamine for some reason has something that makes it special. It’s not the best theme for a lot of people but it does hit harder than most and I love.

That’s interesting trivia, never realized that. Sylveon actually if anything is slightly better against Golisopod since it resists bug, but water and fairy have no interaction so they’re somewhat even.

Golisopod being a physical attacker capitalises on Sylveon’s lesser defensive stat, whereas Sylveon being a special attacker capitalises on Golisopod’s lesser special defensive stat. In terms of bulk the difference is fairly negligible and if we were going to take into account Sylveon’s hidden ability of Pixilate, both would be quite similar in their stronger offensive stats so it’d be a pretty good matchup. But I think Sylveon would get the KO first in a 1v1 due to higher speed as first impression does not even 2HKO and unless king’s rock is in play and gets a lucky flinch, Sylveon lands 2 hyper voice’s which will 2HKO golisopod.

N Final Battle - Black/White: Tastefully dramatic song of one of the most drama fuelled moments in Pokemon 3. Penny - Scarlet/Violet: We all know how hard this goes 4. Ghetsis - USUM: I actually prefer this one. Booming Imposing Powerful Terrifying and lessens the comedic memery of Dennis 5. Guzma - Sun/Moon: He's just kinda the Goat 6. Archie/Maxie - RSE: Those OG trumpets haven't lost their shine all this time later
personal ranking worst to best (based on favorite version of each to give each song the fairest chance) Ghetsis - not a fan of songs that focus mainly on just percussion, and while i think that was a good approach to make ghetsis feel menacing it just doesn't make a good song for me. Rose - not a fan for the same reason I'm not a fan of ghetsis'. I'm a sucker for choir dissonance though. Giovanni - just not a fan of lower energy themes, althought the slow tempo with the fast drums does a good job selling his power Volo - I think reusing the theme of approaching cynthia was super smart while also differentiating him a bit, and i love how many movements the theme has, but in the end it's held back imo by the slow cantor. Guzma - It's very different, and I love the vocal, but it's a little repetitive. the scales being played in the second half after the bridge is really darn good (45:43). Archie/Maxie - Would have been lower but USUM added a really sick bridge (8:55) that really ties the whole song together. Cyrus - I don't really know why I like this so much? It reminds me of the songs i don't like but i do genuinely like this? The synth shifting here sounds harsher and I Just Love It. (20:29) Lusamine - has SUCH a strong motif and i love the instrument choice, it makes her vanity and insanity really apparent. Lysandre - the USUM rendition of his theme did him so many favors, altering the rhythm of the team flare motif and speeding up the tempo makes him seem a lot more threatening. The bridge (41:44) is easily my favorite part. N - This is an amazing track that is so unfortunately held back on DS hardware. The steel drums, organ, thunder noises, and seemingly random harmonies make the fight feel chaotic, while also selling the stakes that winning or losing will cost much more than prior themes. Team Skull, Yell and Star are fitting as just being “antagonists”, being basically just gangs starting trouble, while all the others are true “villains”, threatening the world, or in some cases the universe. Alpha Sapphire was a big part of my childhood (hence my name lol), plus being a trumpet player makes that theme the best imo. Also bias to the Alola games and Legends Arceus lol, best villainous team in Skull because funny and Volo + Giratina has to be one of the most challenging moments in any game I’ve had in a hot minute

Piers is cool and the best character, the only thing he did is let his fans act like dumbs sometimes but i dont think that hes an antagonist. Underrated character in my opinion, he even helps when Rose turned into the antagonist way
I can talk a lot about the magnificence in most of the themes present on this video. But today I want to focus in what I consider one of my favorite glow-ups I've ever witnessed, the Lysandre Battle Soundtrack in USUM. I've never been a fan of Team Flare music, and I consider the Boss theme really boring and dissapointing. But with just some changes, it became a more distinctive soundtrack that sounds a lot better imo. I think it's still far from the other Boss themes in the franchise, but I really like it.

My first draft had it in the order you said, but I decided to change it since the USUM version is a different arrangement, while the BDSP version is a direct enhancement keeping the same syntax and everything. I felt it would be nice to have the two more similar versions adjacent for comparison purposes.
@@SilvuddyPkmnMusic I mean, the BDSP version sounds vastly different for sure, I prefer the original and USUM versions personally, BDSP was kinda the worst game in the whole franchise, but I get why you switched BDSP and USUM around for Cyrus' theme.
@@Sylv_Ink In terms of instrumentation and sound quality, absolutely BDSP had major differences, but it's essentially the same composition; you can tell because directly overlaying it with the original DPPt version and they make sense together. The USUM version plays with the original content a lot to make a whole new style, which is why it's such a cool addition to USUM's soundtrack!
@@SilvuddyPkmnMusic true, true, I fully agree with you on that one, USUM versions played with the original but also gave them charm they didn't have originally, though I will say this, I prefer Team Magma/Aqua's theme in ORAS rather than in the originals or USUM. And I prefer DPPt and USUM to BDSP Cyrus' theme.

My favorite has to be Guzma. Not only is his theme good, but because of Gen 7 being my first Pokemon journey. Because of all that, I actually hold bugs in high regard.

I did debate including Colress here, but he’s not really a true villain. Ghetsis is the main villain of B2W2, while Colress is a pawn. Colress’s theme isn’t even used until he’s officially recognized as Team Plasma’s boss, so really just one time during the main story; every time before that it’s a regular trainer battle theme (or the PWT final round theme). He’s about as villainous as the Ultra Recon Squad, who are pretty decidedly not villains.

As I mentioned to another commenter, Piers is still an antagonist by leading a group which opposed the protagonist’s goals. Whether he did anything wrong himself is irrelevant to his character’s role in the plot. His theme’s inclusion in this video is not meant to imply that he’s an evil villain, or even a villain of any kind, but like all other antagonistic team’s leader’s throughout the franchise (ironically except Giovanni in the Kanto games) he received a unique battle theme, so I placed it alongside the others like it. Does that make sense?

Other videos including it is a pretty big reason why I chose not to; it’s not quite accurate calling the Rocket Grunt theme “Giovanni’s Battle Theme.” It’s the same reason I didn’t include it in my Team Admins video because the Rocket Executives, Magma/Aqua Admins, and Flare Admins just use the default battle theme for their organization.

Again, just like my comment in the grunt battle themes video, all the boss themes do a great job of examplifying their teams and region, Giovanni sounds like a terrifying powerful mob boss that is going to mess you up, especially since he's the leader of a dimension hopping mafia of evil, Archie and Maxie sound like some dudes who don't care what they need to do, they're going to do it to further their idealisctic goals, then Cyrus sounds so cool and calculating, like he's prepped for flipping anything (excluding Giratina), then Ghetsis sounds like a mad genius who isn't going to let you ruin his years of manipulation, N sounds so epic, he's misguided and manipulated but he's going to crush you, Lysandre sounds like a very strong bad guy in general, with technological prowess to back him up the extra mile, Guzma sounds like another mean gang leader, with hints of how he works for Aether Paradise blended in, Lusamine sounds very desperate cause she's fighting for what she thinks is either the only way to get her husband back at all or to save all that she holds dear from Necrozma, and sounds very mad, Piers isn't evil, he's a GOAT at rock music though, Rose sounds very dramatic and climatic, like it's you or him, darkest day or no, Penny isn't evil either, but she has the ultimate hacker theme, and it's SO good, then the AI professors sound very paradoxical and robotic, like they are, then Volo... Run. Run for your ever loving life, this dude is not to be messed with. As for my personal ranking for all these, which is SO hard, they're all so great: Honorable #1 and #2: Piers and Penny's theme's are so yoked is nuts, but they just aren't actual villains, so... Yeah... Actual #1. Rainbow Rocket Giovanni, again, gotta respect the OG, especially when their theme is this good, plus it is SO epic. Actual #2. This one was close, but it's Lysandre's X/Y theme over Ghetsis' B2/W2 theme, his just sounds more epic, like the stakes are higher, the fight is harder, all is up for grabs here (though really Lysandre is a cake walk of a battle compared to Ghetsis). #3. Ghetsis B2/W2, this theme really showcases how this dude is full blown mad and not afraid to kill, and you're his next roadblock, he ain't letting ANYONE stop him, not even N. #4. Speaking of N, his King of Team Plasma theme is AMAZING, I love it, it feels like the stakes are high in this one, it's electrifying. #5. Lysandre's US/UM theme is also very very good, not as good as X/Y, but it certainly feels more mad and almost more evil, but it doesn't hit the same way without the massive bass and E-guitar that the OG had. #6. Every version of Cyrus's theme are all good, they really showcase "hey, I have no emotion, I am an unfeeling robot of a man, stop my master plan if you can scrub" and it's just great. #7. Volo and Guzma are tied IMO, they're both so good, Volo being uber epic terrifying ancient evil Cynthia, and Guzma is a Bug-type specialist who actually has a great battle strategy and is going to mess you up for simply being there. #8. Archie and Maxie's theme from OR/AS and R/S/E is a quintessintial Hoenn track, it's got the trumpets, it's got the melody, and it sounds great. #9. Beast Mother Lusamine, need I go further, it's just terrifying, though if only she could've been the extra scary boss at the end, but regardless she is MAD and going to mess you up. #10. AI professors and Rose tie IMO, they're both *VERY* epic themes, don't get me wrong, but in my playlist, they'll be skipped more often for any of the themes above. #11. Please nobody kill me, but B/W and US/UM Ghetsis just doesn't do it for me, the B2/W2 theme hits better for my head, and these two kinda fall flat, especially the US/UM one. #12. US/UM Archie and Maxie felt like a let down to me, especially when compared to OR/AS's rendition. #13. Finally, at last, regular Lusamine just really flops for me, yeah, it does a heckin' good job at showing how desperate and mad she is right then, but it really doesn't work for me. **Ending Edit** All these themes are amazing and hype as I'll get out, if there's a thing Pokemon does consistently, it's pump some of the greatest Video Game soundtracks ever out.

Volo (I'm more into fast paced themes, and while I loved Cynthia's theme due to hinting at the hell that's about to arise in battle, his...IS the battle, and isn't completely screaming "YOU'RE GONNA DIE!!!!" like others did; I hadn't gotten to him though since I kinda rage quit LA for a bit after realizing it revolves around reflexes regarding wild attacks, and I ain't got that. xD Plus new games came out after so I switched to that instead. But I wanna get back into LA since I saw someone who looked very similar to Saturn - my boy...;3; ) N (there's one version I kinda like, but don't remember it; Still not as top tier though) Lusamine Chairman Rose (the added choir actually adds something rather catchy to this one! Really suits someone trying to bring an apocalyptic dragon into the world, LOL. can't believe Lysandre was a late addition, replacing a character, and ruining his character arc. Truly one of the decisions I've ever seen in game development. This is like Final Fantasy XV levels of ruining your own character.

I could imagine that, without player character interference, Starfall Street fails and Penny has to watch Team Star get expelled. Then Rainbow Giovanni swoops in, picks them up, and Penny either tries to chase after, or also gets approached and rejoins the team as Cassiopeia fully...
And Rose would pull off the Darkest Day successfully with Leon fully in support. With both the Chairman and Champion fully on board with it, the rest of the Pokemon League pretty much has no choice but to capitulate or be ousted. I could see Piers being a rebel here, and like Guzma, try to oppose, but he and Team Yell are horribly outnumbered. Giovanni shows up, recruits Rose and Leon, and then captures Marnie to force Piers' compliance, or else...
This time, it's a Lusamine and Guzma who succeeded in breaching Ultra Space without opposition that join Giovanni. This time, there's no Colress around to stop them or Rainbow Rocket, and so all of the Pokemon dimensions are under threat from Ultra Space...
Giovanni, seeing the potential that lies buried under Area Zero, comes across a certain pair of AIs that dwells down there. He convinces them that joining him will let them explore much more than the past and future, and even manages to get them freed from the shackles that keeps them trapped in the crystal caverns. And thus, Rainbow Rocket gets access to the "Time" Machine, as well as AI Sada and Turo to help them operate it...
The only hope to stop this renewed Rainbow Rocket lies with a certain Pokemon Trainer, and a few helpful allies who have been chasing these villains across space, time, and dimensions...

I want to point this out to those who have never played Gen 8 before, Sword and Shield. Team Yell captain Piers is also the VERY FIRST DARK TYPE GYM LEADER. For better context, Dark and Steel type Pokemon were introduced in Gen 2, Gold and Silver. Jasmine, Johto's steel-type Gym Leader was the first steel-type Gym Leader in the Pokemon franchise. We haven't got a dark-type Gym Leader in nearly 20 years until Piers and his little sister Marnie came along.

Island Kahunas are technically not Gym Leaders, though they are treated as such on the road to Alola's Pokemon League, as originally the Alola region did not have its own Pokemon League until the Gen 7 boy or girl finishes his/her Island Trial Challenge. Prof. Kukui pulled some strings in the International Pokemon League HQ to get Alola to have its own Pokemon League.

It’s just that… it’s scary! After he loses it, he only wants to hurt you. The theme conveys that very well. I have zero doubts that if it wasn’t a game for all publics, Ghetsis would have very clearly used his Pokémon to attempt to murder you.

Rocket was like a more effective Skull, look at all they accomplished, they even made a brand-new pkmn and took over a corp that invented another pkmn of their own. Plasma was close though because of what they did with Genesect.
Galactic was the most ghastly because they didn't even know what they were doing, and their command wanted a universe without emotion. Just imagine how horrible that would be. Like the living dead.

I think quite the opposite. For me Flare (and Galactic) are the best since they posed a true menace to the balance of the world. And Plasma, of course..

That’s interesting trivia, never realized that. Sylveon actually if anything is slightly better against Golisopod since it resists bug, but water and fairy have no interaction so they’re somewhat even.

Golisopod being a physical attacker capitalises on Sylveon’s lesser defensive stat, whereas Sylveon being a special attacker capitalises on Golisopod’s lesser special defensive stat. In terms of bulk the difference is fairly negligible and if we were going to take into account Sylveon’s hidden ability of Pixilate, both would be quite similar in their stronger offensive stats so it’d be a pretty good matchup. But I think Sylveon would get the KO first in a 1v1 due to higher speed as first impression does not even 2HKO and unless king’s rock is in play and gets a lucky flinch, Sylveon lands 2 hyper voice’s which will 2HKO golisopod.
I think Guzma's Golisopod knows Iron Head.

2. N Final Battle - Black/White: Tastefully dramatic song of one of the most drama fuelled moments in Pokemon

4. Ghetsis - USUM: I actually prefer this one. Booming Imposing Powerful Terrifying and lessens the comedic memery of Dennis
5. Guzma - Sun/Moon: He's just kinda the Goat
6. Archie/Maxie - RSE: Those OG trumpets haven't lost their shine all this time later

Ghetsis - not a fan of songs that focus mainly on just percussion, and while i think that was a good approach to make ghetsis feel menacing it just doesn't make a good song for me.
Rose - not a fan for the same reason I'm not a fan of ghetsis'. I'm a sucker for choir dissonance though.
Giovanni - just not a fan of lower energy themes, althought the slow tempo with the fast drums does a good job selling his power
Volo - I think reusing the theme of approaching cynthia was super smart while also differentiating him a bit, and i love how many movements the theme has, but in the end it's held back imo by the slow cantor.
Guzma - It's very different, and I love the vocal, but it's a little repetitive. the scales being played in the second half after the bridge is really darn good (45:43).
Archie/Maxie - Would have been lower but USUM added a really sick bridge (8:55) that really ties the whole song together.
Cyrus - I don't really know why I like this so much? It reminds me of the songs i don't like but i do genuinely like this? The synth shifting here sounds harsher and I Just Love It. (20:29)
Lusamine - has SUCH a strong motif and i love the instrument choice, it makes her vanity and insanity really apparent.
Lysandre - the USUM rendition of his theme did him so many favors, altering the rhythm of the team flare motif and speeding up the tempo makes him seem a lot more threatening. The bridge (41:44) is easily my favorite part.
N - This is an amazing track that is so unfortunately held back on DS hardware. The steel drums, organ, thunder noises, and seemingly random harmonies make the fight feel chaotic, while also selling the stakes that winning or losing will cost much more than prior themes.

Team Skull, Yell and Star are fitting as just being “antagonists”, being basically just gangs starting trouble, while all the others are true “villains”, threatening the world, or in some cases the universe.
Alpha Sapphire was a big part of my childhood (hence my name lol), plus being a trumpet player makes that theme the best imo.
Also bias to the Alola games and Legends Arceus lol, best villainous team in Skull because funny and Volo + Giratina has to be one of the most challenging moments in any game I’ve had in a hot minute

I skipped Gens 4 and 5. Volo's theme gave me a level of appreciation that BDSP Cynthia's failed to. What a masterpiece.

I can talk a lot about the magnificence in most of the themes present on this video. But today I want to focus in what I consider one of my favorite glow-ups I've ever witnessed, the Lysandre Battle Soundtrack in USUM. I've never been a fan of Team Flare music, and I consider the Boss theme really boring and dissapointing. But with just some changes, it became a more distinctive soundtrack that sounds a lot better imo. I think it's still far from the other Boss themes in the franchise, but I really like it.

Hey, I was wondering why you put BDSP's theme for Cyrus before USUM when it was released on Switch not too long ago. Other than that amazing video thanks for making this amazing content.
My first draft had it in the order you said, but I decided to change it since the USUM version is a different arrangement, while the BDSP version is a direct enhancement keeping the same syntax and everything. I felt it would be nice to have the two more similar versions adjacent for comparison purposes.
@@SilvuddyPkmnMusic I mean, the BDSP version sounds vastly different for sure, I prefer the original and USUM versions personally, BDSP was kinda the worst game in the whole franchise, but I get why you switched BDSP and USUM around for Cyrus' theme.
@@Sylv_Ink In terms of instrumentation and sound quality, absolutely BDSP had major differences, but it's essentially the same composition; you can tell because directly overlaying it with the original DPPt version and they make sense together. The USUM version plays with the original content a lot to make a whole new style, which is why it's such a cool addition to USUM's soundtrack!
@@SilvuddyPkmnMusic true, true, I fully agree with you on that one, USUM versions played with the original but also gave them charm they didn't have originally, though I will say this, I prefer Team Magma/Aqua's theme in ORAS rather than in the originals or USUM. And I prefer DPPt and USUM to BDSP Cyrus' theme.

Wondering why Colress isn't included here.
I did debate including Colress here, but he’s not really a true villain. Ghetsis is the main villain of B2W2, while Colress is a pawn. Colress’s theme isn’t even used until he’s officially recognized as Team Plasma’s boss, so really just one time during the main story; every time before that it’s a regular trainer battle theme (or the PWT final round theme).
He’s about as villainous as the Ultra Recon Squad, who are pretty decidedly not villains.
On my channel, you can find a video for all the Team Admins’ unique battle themes, which does include Colress’ battle music!

I wouldnt call Piers an antagonist. He did nothing wrong and even helped in the end.
As I mentioned to another commenter, Piers is still an antagonist by leading a group which opposed the protagonist’s goals. Whether he did anything wrong himself is irrelevant to his character’s role in the plot. His theme’s inclusion in this video is not meant to imply that he’s an evil villain, or even a villain of any kind, but like all other antagonistic team’s leader’s throughout the franchise (ironically except Giovanni in the Kanto games) he received a unique battle theme, so I placed it alongside the others like it. Does that make sense?

Why is HGSS missing? You battled him in an event, yes it’s the same as grunts and leaders but half of the video’s like this included it.
Other videos including it is a pretty big reason why I chose not to; it’s not quite accurate calling the Rocket Grunt theme “Giovanni’s Battle Theme.” It’s the same reason I didn’t include it in my Team Admins video because the Rocket Executives, Magma/Aqua Admins, and Flare Admins just use the default battle theme for their organization.

Again, just like my comment in the grunt battle themes video, all the boss themes do a great job of examplifying their teams and region, Giovanni sounds like a terrifying powerful mob boss that is going to mess you up, especially since he's the leader of a dimension hopping mafia of evil, Archie and Maxie sound like some dudes who don't care what they need to do, they're going to do it to further their idealisctic goals, then Cyrus sounds so cool and calculating, like he's prepped for flipping anything (excluding Giratina), then Ghetsis sounds like a mad genius who isn't going to let you ruin his years of manipulation, N sounds so epic, he's misguided and manipulated but he's going to crush you, Lysandre sounds like a very strong bad guy in general, with technological prowess to back him up the extra mile, Guzma sounds like another mean gang leader, with hints of how he works for Aether Paradise blended in, Lusamine sounds very desperate cause she's fighting for what she thinks is either the only way to get her husband back at all or to save all that she holds dear from Necrozma, and sounds very mad, Piers isn't evil, he's a GOAT at rock music though, Rose sounds very dramatic and climatic, like it's you or him, darkest day or no, Penny isn't evil either, but she has the ultimate hacker theme, and it's SO good, then the AI professors sound very paradoxical and robotic, like they are, then Volo... Run. Run for your ever loving life, this dude is not to be messed with.
As for my personal ranking for all these, which is SO hard, they're all so great:
Honorable #1 and #2: Piers and Penny's theme's are so yoked is nuts, but they just aren't actual villains, so... Yeah...
Actual #1. Rainbow Rocket Giovanni, again, gotta respect the OG, especially when their theme is this good, plus it is SO epic.
Actual #2. This one was close, but it's Lysandre's X/Y theme over Ghetsis' B2/W2 theme, his just sounds more epic, like the stakes are higher, the fight is harder, all is up for grabs here (though really Lysandre is a cake walk of a battle compared to Ghetsis).
#3. Ghetsis B2/W2, this theme really showcases how this dude is full blown mad and not afraid to kill, and you're his next roadblock, he ain't letting ANYONE stop him, not even N.
#4. Speaking of N, his King of Team Plasma theme is AMAZING, I love it, it feels like the stakes are high in this one, it's electrifying.
#5. Lysandre's US/UM theme is also very very good, not as good as X/Y, but it certainly feels more mad and almost more evil, but it doesn't hit the same way without the massive bass and E-guitar that the OG had.
#6. Every version of Cyrus's theme are all good, they really showcase "hey, I have no emotion, I am an unfeeling robot of a man, stop my master plan if you can scrub" and it's just great.
#7. Volo and Guzma are tied IMO, they're both so good, Volo being uber epic terrifying ancient evil Cynthia, and Guzma is a Bug-type specialist who actually has a great battle strategy and is going to mess you up for simply being there.
#8. Archie and Maxie's theme from OR/AS and R/S/E is a quintessintial Hoenn track, it's got the trumpets, it's got the melody, and it sounds great.
#9. Beast Mother Lusamine, need I go further, it's just terrifying, though if only she could've been the extra scary boss at the end, but regardless she is MAD and going to mess you up.
#10. AI professors and Rose tie IMO, they're both *VERY* epic themes, don't get me wrong, but in my playlist, they'll be skipped more often for any of the themes above.
#11. Please nobody kill me, but B/W and US/UM Ghetsis just doesn't do it for me, the B2/W2 theme hits better for my head, and these two kinda fall flat, especially the US/UM one.
#12. US/UM Archie and Maxie felt like a let down to me, especially when compared to OR/AS's rendition.
#13. Finally, at last, regular Lusamine just really flops for me, yeah, it does a heckin' good job at showing how desperate and mad she is right then, but it really doesn't work for me.
**Ending Edit** All these themes are amazing and hype as I'll get out, if there's a thing Pokemon does consistently, it's pump some of the greatest Video Game soundtracks ever out.

Volo (I'm more into fast paced themes, and while I loved Cynthia's theme due to hinting at the hell that's about to arise in battle, his...IS the battle, and isn't completely screaming "YOU'RE GONNA DIE!!!!" like others did; I hadn't gotten to him though since I kinda rage quit LA for a bit after realizing it revolves around reflexes regarding wild attacks, and I ain't got that. xD Plus new games came out after so I switched to that instead. But I wanna get back into LA since I saw someone who looked very similar to Saturn - my boy...;3; )
N (there's one version I kinda like, but don't remember it; Still not as top tier though)

It was hard to do the fight in a public place where I had people around being loud...I knew I should've saved it for another trip but spoilers were already there so I just did it when I could have on headphones -- plus trips are hard to come by right now due to location vs destination + budget, LOL)
Cyrus + Maxie/Archie + Penny are tied (tbh, the first 2 have a huge attachment, especially Archie and Maxie, but I can't pick a clear favorite; I also have a thing for EDM music - I hadn't listened to much after being super late in entering the Vocaloid realm, and ought to search out more groups/musicians, maybe revisit the Monstercat channel!)
