Silvuddy's Notes:
- Kantonian Legendary Birds: Unfortunately the original Legendary Trio never received a unique battle theme; RBY and LGPE have all Wild Pokémon Battles use the same theme regardless of status, FRLG uses a pitched up version for the birds, Platinum and HGSS use the standard Wild theme from those games, and XY uses a remixed version of the original Kanto theme for the birds shared with Mewtwo. In USUM for the wormhole battles, it just brings back the original RBY Wild theme, while SwSh has every Dynamax legendary use the same theme! These poor birds!
- Legendary Beasts: This was the first true unique Legendary theme, but it didn't actually show up until Crystal came out. In HGSS, each Beast received a version specific to them with unique characteristics: electric guitar for Raikou, a halftime feel for Entei, and upbeat bells and brass for Suicune.
- Legendary Giants: Wow, these guys have a remix for almost every Generation they've appeared in, only skipping on Gen 7. The Crown Tundra version is also special not just because the two new Giants use it, but also because it repeats the original loop an extra time with different instrumentation.
- Lake Guardians: Okay this just slaps, full stop. That bass line is killer, and while the upscaled version in BDSP isn't quite as impactful, the Legends: Arceus arrangement gives a fun spin on the original composition with some ambient electronics.
- Unova Legendaries: Black and White gave us two sub-Legendary groups, but they both share the same theme (along with Victini). There's a reason people say Gen 5 music goes hard, and this is it; pounding, syncopated bass and orchestra "chans" make this theme just too awesome.
- Guardian Deities: While Kalos didn't have any minor Legendary group, we did get the first ever quartet in Sun and Moon. The tribal element here makes this stand out as particularly unique. Note the callback to the Island Kahuna battle theme in here when the sawtooth synth comes in.
- Galarian Legendary Birds: Somehow THESE variants got a special battle theme before the originals. At least it's a banger; high tempo, chaotic synth flourishes, and a recognizable motif make me absolutely love this music even though I've never played through the DLC!
- Calyrex's Steeds: Okay.... IMO this is probably one of the few "misses" in the overall canon of Pokémon battle themes. It's not terrible by any means, but it just doesn't hook you, y'know? At least the galloping feel is fitting.
- Treasures of Ruin: These guys are just plain awesome, and their theme did NOT need to slap as hard as it does. The Eastern-style music in an otherwise Spanish-inspired game is such a refreshing surprise, and the instrument choice is just perfect. Honestly every time I hear it I can't stop singing along.

The Regis have the most remixes/arrangements than any other Legendary Pokémon.
I like that the BW2 version was used for Regigigas as well. Why did they keep giving it the Sinnoh Legendary theme afterwards? I know that's the theme it originally had, but that was because the Regis weren't catchable in DP. They should go the extra mile and give Regigigas an epic, more intense remix of the Regi theme since it is the creator of the Regis.
I know kanto legendary bird’s theme is just a high pitched version of the normal encounter theme but it’s just so good imo

Yeah it's kind of nuts, literally every game you can find them in they get a new remix (except for the cheap legendary recollection services like the Ultra Wormhole and Ramanas Park). That's 5 individual generations...
to be fair i think they peaked with the gen 8 remix. it is... something.

Tbf, the regi theme itself is quite simple and has that repetitive beat to it that allows it to be remixed easily.

Damnnn X/Y bird themes are sooo good I never actually listened to the music men damn, bit I don't consider them mimir tbh, also regis are a gigantic banger and the johto beasts, I fkin love them! Reminds me of my childhood were I used to secretly play Soulsilver in night.
My top 5 themes :
-Hoenn Giants theme (B2W2/Rubis Sapphire)

I just realised that all quartets have one type their share all Kobalium Terrakium Virizion and Keldeo Fighting Tornadus Thundurus Landorous Enamorous Flying Tapus Fairy And Treasure of Runis Dark I know that the first ones arent really quartes but somekind they belong together

Choosing the top 5 was extremely difficult, I love all the themes for different reasons. PLA is far down the list as it’s a bit too repetitive for me

The BW2 Version Of The Regis Will Always Be The Best Version.
Man, the Beasts (especially Suicune and Raikou) were such jammers! Such a shame they didn't get their theme again in the Max Raid DLC in SwSh! And heck, even being brought back in other games meant their super pitchy, ear offending OG themes came in instead...No offense, but I much preferred at least the FRLG versions...The loud sounds from the GSC OST just...Ugh, no.
I had to spoil myself with the Ruin music and DANG it's so good! Finally, another brilliant minor legend theme! I didn't even know they were supposedly legendaries!
Otherwise, I also actually enjoyed the Regis and sprites from Gen 4. The themes varied from mysterious and simple to...Simply mysterious! xD Really enjoyed them, and the remakes weren't bad either.

I have bad memorys of Entei getting away in hgss it was my first time fighting a Legendary Beast i didnt know that he could get away i didnt have Masterballs or Quickballs

Correction about the Legendary Birds in Platinum: They didn't use the Wild theme, they used the Sinnoh Legendary theme.

And funnily enough, I caught them recently a couple of months ago in that very game as I've been going back to do some unfinished post-game activities in my old Pokémon games in preparation for Bank/Transporter's eventual shutdown. Getting all Legendaries in SoulSilver as we speak - the Legendary Birds and Latios obtained so far!
Watch people flame me over this- But I think the Legends Arceus Lake Guardian theme is better than the DPPT and BDSP versions (34:32 34:53 35:04) These timestamps are my reason why I think that.
Props to Scarlet and Violet for using each of the Legendary Beast themes from HGSS when ORAS and USUM took the coward's way out and used the GB Sounds version
The best music are undoubetdly of the sinnoh pixies. They are the most important out of them all afterall, without them Arceus' matrix would fall in an instant.
Anyway, my favorite groups, not to say the only righteous ones among these, the cloud men and the treasures of ruin. I especially sympathize with the treasures of ruin for being caged, but then again so are the pixies and the regis but theyre evil. arceus is pure evil so it doesnt care about its own servants.
The cloud men are amazing too though, and Id dare to say their totem forms got the best designs out of these after only the galarian birds
What's the point of having the extended versions of each track? It had me come over and guess where I should move forward every time any song stayed for too long
I have a sugestion can you do every starting town like Pallet,New Bark etc?
I have thought of continuing this format into non-battle themes as well, but my main priority is getting all the battle themes documented and organized on my channel. One day I could possibly get to town, route, and other themes!

Yes, at the time of this video’s release none of the SV DLC had been released, so once it’s all out and we have all the music I’ll create updated versions of all my compilations.

You have good trivia knowledge my friend! I made a conscious decision not to include that one since it’s technically not ever used in the core series, but I do plan to make a version of each (or at least most) of these compilation videos that incorporates as many officially endorsed versions that are out there in Pokémon media as possible, including beta/unused tracks such as that.

10 Sinnoh Legendary In BDSP the into Sounds like a Real legend but the Rest is garbage
9 Unova Legendary This theme only fits the sword of justice Not the 4 Dschinns I dont like that theme
8 kantonian birds X/Y The crazy Intro is great and then the retro sounding Music comes up
7 Beasts (Entei) The beasts are all pretty lame themes but Entei's Sounds a bit better and like a volcano
6 Galarian Birds A completely New theme for a reginonal Forms is really good
5 Glastier/Spectrier The Intro is bringing galloping vibes up evertime i hear IT but with Calyrex its way better
4 Lake Guardians D/P I always like the modern Version but Not here the crazy klings from D/P are cut off in the Remakes weich makes the Sound really good
3 Tapus This theme reminds me evertime that so must Sound traditioneal Hawaiian music
2 Regis SW/SH The beeps AT the Start are great fitting the gigants the Rest Sounds like the bowser Board from Mario Party 8 for me
1 Treasure of Ruins A creepy Song for banned pokemon i like IT the high notes AT the end are really stressing to hear everytime but that doesnt make IT a Bad theme

I was confused why the generic Sinnoh Legendary theme wasn't included in this video, not realizing that Silvuddy was specifically going over themes for "Groups of Legendaries" and that the Sinnoh Legendary theme was included in a "misc Legendary theme" video.

@@Elanit0123 I don’t think that’s right… I don’t see any similarities to it and Smart Race, the composition is actually much more similar to Ichinose’s and Masuda’s styles, especially from the Gen 5 era. Additionally, Toby Fox would have likely said something if he wrote the piece, as he had with the number of other tracks he did write or even helped out with.
