    So interesting and educational Roger. The “real time” hook up and fight of that large “jagged” salmon was just awesome. Thanks for sharing this type of fishing technique. I am sure when the warmer weather comes along there would be greater opportunities for flatties and trevally. Can’t wait to see what you land next time.

    I tried some beach fishing and looked for a sand bar like you taught me in a previous video but alas I didn’t catch anything. I used a pilchard and the two hook method but….nothing. I think I was fishing in a rip ‘cause I lost part of my footwear to the surf and found it way up the other end of the beach. I’m not one to give up and shall have another go. I was fishing around Norah Head, NSW.

    • @raynewman4904
      @raynewman4904 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @jazzycool2950 I to did a bit of fishing at Norah head over the weekend. Today is Monday and I was up there yesterday.I encountered dolphin and stingrays which is not good for beach fishing. At the southern end of Hargraves beach I found a sign warning of a seal resting area. With no swell and or good gutters combined by the conditions I spoke of we had no hope.

Any suggestions for fishing in the murky Atlantic ? The beach surf can be rough and the the tide STRONG. Heavy pyramids lose hold. Started using the Sputnik weights. Trying to learn reading the surf. I spent lots of magical times as a kid fishing the beaches of the South coast of NSW and especially around the Central coast during the 1970's. Salmon were considered extinct due to over fishing. So good to see that they have come back. I now live in Western Australia and our Salmon here are monsters of 4-5 kg to be legal size. They are for some unknown reason still targeted by commercial fishing during their spawning run. Wish it was stopped. No reason to catch them. No real value as a food fish. Love your videos, takes me back to fishing the beaches around Jervis bay, the Shoalhaven river, Avoca, Terrigal and endless hours on lots of Sydney's northern beaches.

    Commented on another video on plastics and forgot about this one. Never sure how the color of plastics plays into the choice. Simulation of live bait and water clarity? Are the plastics you use scented? Would adding scent have advantages? Dipping in something like Gulp? Learning so much from your videos!
