My experience : depending only on the shock piston size, and the holes on it. Thicker oil needs bigger holes for a better flow. The best oil is, which is never bubbling up, while fast pistons movements. Lower speed cars need bigger holes on piston and thicker oil, high speed cars need more liquidity oil with smaller holes on pistons. So only information I need when I buy shocks, are the piston parameters. I bought cheap shoks from AliExpress, and tripled its value by 3D printing modified pistons...
I recently bought a new Traxxas Bandit Rear Wheel Drive 1:10 Scale and I believe it doesn't have any oil in it right now. I like in your video the part where you explain to do drag racing that it's better light in the back and heavy in the front. You use 42.5 in the front and 37 in the rear for one of your cars, should I do the same for my Traxxas Bandit or you have better recipe. I won't do jumps too steep but can a foot high sometimes.
Hey i wand to change the oil in my 140mm shock's but i use then for my fanatec csl dd padel's any suggestions on what type of oil i shut use if im using them for my gas and brack padel
What oil should I use for 1/14 reflex 14b at a track and jumping
I've a Deerc 1/10 9200E. What oil should I Use???
I started using the FT silicone shock fluid 42.5 w . Not to heavy and not to light for my Big Rock . It just seems to give me better control and smoother ride . And if I do need more cushion it is easier to switch tires than it is shock oil .
Thanks for sharing
Nice video. I am planning to use 10 cm shocks on an rc plane to land on a grass sod farm. What oil would you suggest I try first? Landings are not always as soft as I would like.
That’s a good question I would say start with 30 to 45.
Hey man great video, I have a WLTOYS 124016 V2 it's a 1/12 and it tends to flip after jumping, it's kind of unstable, not a nice soft landing, what kind of oil should I use?
For me, the smaller, the shock, the higher the shock oil. I would try like 70.

@@Sam-nz2zs WT
Thank you very much. 900cst. Didnt realise you could use it for all four shocks.. and I’m new to the rc world lol
What oil can I use if I don’t have,RC oil?( stampede)
40 cst
Thanks. But what I really want to know is if I can use 2 stroke oil? if No Y not.& thanks again…
@@raymondbetancourt6498 just because it looks the same it doesn't perform the same. Stick with actual shock oil as it's designed for that.
It's your rig you do what you want and put in olive oil for jokes but it won't perform the same lol.
For the price of shock why would you use anything else than the proper stuff.
Coming from a mechanically inclined guy, like myself. You know the mind wonders.what if.But thanks for the reply. I will order some soon…
Good lord, this was nauseating. "Large" vs "small" shock size. What MM's and diameters are considered large and small. This was just aweful.
