Grayson doesn't shove people away or manipulate them like Bruce does. Grayson is happy and loves life. Bruce adopted Grayson so that he wouldn't become like him and Bruce succeeded. Grayson doesn't want to be Batman where as all of the other Robin's want to be Batman when Bruce hangs it up.
