The best way to guarantee a new hardware release or two is to plan and film a build. The parts for this build were planned prior to the release of the GTX 980 Ti and the Radeon R9 Fury and 300 series. Had those been available and in stock, we would have opted for one of those instead. One other note - the lighting on this video isn't where I'd like it to be. During the filming, this happened: i.imgur.com/s4OfLW9.jpg. Then this: i.imgur.com/tconyYm.jpg. We have new lights on the way, but had to kind of limp through this video without one of our fill lights. :(
Asendency Of course. Due to the ambient noise where it's currently filmed there isn't any audio of the build itself. But that's going to change soon - we're setting up a new space to film, and are also bringing on some additional help on the filming and editing side. Hopefully pretty soon (next month or two) you'll see a nice improvement in the content and production quality.
I built this Saturday for my son's 13th birthday present. A couple of comments: 1) Mounting the back plate for the cooler as shown rendered it loose on the MB, because the little pegs on the backplate nuts stuck through the MB too far for the standoffs to snug it up before they bottomed out. Reversing it worked. 2) The way the radiator and fans were installed here is opposite of what the cooler manual called for. It said to mount the radiator to the top of the case, then mount the fans to the radiator, so that they blowed through the radiator, rather than sucked through the radiator. They said this was for best thermal performance, plus it was easier to do. Machine is a screamer though, OC'ed at 4.0GHz, I get 60fps on every game we've run, at max detail/shadows/textures and rez. It's bad ass. Thanks for a good guide!
This channel is kicking ass! If you guys did a build every week you could hit a million subs. I would like to see an ultimate flashy build, Maybe show people how to led. lol
You almost broke the HDD caddy at 8:11, Phanteks use a "wing" system on the hdd caddies (you can see the instructions printed on them) this is one of me most easiest tool-less installations i ever use (i have the same case)
Dhruv Atherton We'll have an X99-based build going up in the next month, but it's not going to be a gaming build. The application for it will be a bit unique...
***** I prefer seeing them from PCPartPicker as they take you through step by step how to do the build. PCPartPicker And that's great! I'm going to be building an X99 based build soon as I'm going to start doing software development and my current PC just won't cut it.
is this really a full tower case it's looks like a mid tower case however,Does this Case fits a GTX 1080Ti with a triple fan or not Thanks for the video.
why is the Fans on top of the radiator? In the instructions booklet the fan recommended to be under the radiator. This is probably a newb question but why the change up?
Ive built this build and everything was fine at first. But now my PC randomly restarts. First it was only when opening heavy duty games but now it restarts pretty much randomly. Can anyone help? Ive only built this like a month ago.
Im pretty new to building computers, The case more or less doesnt matter does it or will some cases not have the correct holders for certain components?
I would have just made the western digital 1 terabyte and then used the money saved there to help afford a better cpu. what the point of this high end pc if it doesn't come with a high end processor, which is the most important pc part for a boost in performance
Word of the wise: buy from Newegg. The tax rate with Amazon is ridiculous and you'd be better off either paying for faster shipping or waiting. I'm guessing the taxes alone on those parts were around $20-30
hi I need help on the molex part can you please clearly explain what you did. Also the water cooler how did you connect it from the back, where did it come from
i am still using stock cpu cooler for about 4 month high temp that i get is about 60 degree low is around 25 since the first day ...i think i will not change it until i get new cpu
Should I go with the gtx960 for my build Or should I go with somethin a bit better? Im going to do mild gaming (minecraft, csgo, gta) With some video editing...
DYNAMO I have a 960 in my build and it runs great with all the games you listed. You will have to turn down the texture quality just a bit in gta but it still runs fine for me.
DYNAMO dude go with the msi r7 370 2Gb! My friend got it instead of the GTX 960 and he gets a few extra frames more than I do. Also the msi r7 370 is about $30 cheaper
How could i make this a little less expensive without losing any/a lot of the pc's power, i was looking for a build around 1300-1400 $ CANADIAN not american so 1000-1100 maybe in the us.
Nebula's Ditch the SSD and go with 1*8GB of RAM instead of 2*8GB of RAM. That'll save you 100$. If you don't plan on overclocking, you can get an i5-4690 (not K) and ditch the liquid cooling. That'll save you another 150$.
Hi I really like your videos. I was looking for a setup with a budget like this video and i found it interesting. But there is a problem. I am lookinf for a pc where i can edit video with a sony vegas and capture video from my ps4 with elgato hd60. This capture card has sone requirements as intel i5 minimum 2.0 ghz before boosting or similar and dedicated video card and for streaming intel i7 2.0ghz before boost or similar and video card booth setuos with minimun ram 8gb. I like a mini itx build and this kind of case too. Can you help me to do a setup with these requirements? I think with a maximum budget of 600usd Thank you very much Ps. I was doing a little research with intel nuc and gigabyte brix but i dont trust about the thermal cooling and the fall of cpu performance and i just put it apart that option
Y. Sajj it would be recommended. if you are just gaming and no OC than yes upgrade to a better air cooler but if you plan on OCing than get liquid coloing.
Okay thank you. Right now i have only stock fan on my cpu that came with cpu. Is that fan is fine? If that fan cant handle games then i will get better cooling fan

Unkowner Moneys no dont buy this... 750ti is bare minimum for gaming and the cpu is way to fast/expensive... You should also remove the Z97 board since its meant for overclocking the cpu... u are better off with a H97 or B board. Aim for a GTX 970 with an 4440/4460 for a good gaming experience.
gattis45 I guess he means that instead of getting the 8350, he could have bought a haswell i5 or spent an extra 30 or so bucks on an unlocked i5. PCPartPicker I'd rather the silence than some background music. Please don't add background music to your build videos. :(
PCPartPicker is there a wiring guide included with anything, i was a bit confused about where the wires are supposed to go
+Alicia Q yes just look up your motherboard and wiring guide or look in the manual
Very helpful! I was looking for someone installing a Corsair H100i inside a Phanteks Enthoo Pro case. Thanks Dude
5 years later and I just bought this case. Love it!
H Wills same first pc build as well, upgrading to am AIO cooler for my cpu, needed to see how it is done with my case

going to use this video tomorrow to complete my first pc build! 4690k/970. Can't wait man
At it's price Enthoo Pro is still the case to beat! phanteks is amazing
Ilija Petrovic for same price could get the Define R5
+Huevo Duro702 enthoo pro is modded friendly, larger, has better airflow and in my opinion looks better
+Huevo Duro702 it is also $10 cheaper assuming you get the windowed version of both
+Preston COC different strokes for different folks
Your videos and website literally taught me how to build pc's. Good work!!!
You almost broke the HDD caddy at 8:11, Phanteks use a "wing" system on the hdd caddies (you can see the instructions printed on them) this is one of me most easiest tool-less installations i ever use (i have the same case)

I wanna see a build with the i7 5820k!

Another quality build, great video
Great job Philip!
Wow, I put together my own build, and after making it, I realized how similar it is to this.
Totally making this by christmas
Same but buying a gtx 980 ti by msi tho
i cannot watch this without falling asleep... :)
They need music behind it
is this really a full tower case it's looks like a mid tower case

Good work man keep it up.
Any recommendations on cables or do they come with all the parts? Haven't ordered my stuff yet
Wish you built a budget $500 gaming pc using i3 4170 4th gen processor that would help me build my own pc
hello !
what is the difference between fans inside the case radiator outside and radiator inside the fan outside the case ?
sorry for bad english
Air cooler + 980ti instead will be a better choice imo, but great build
I saw the description but the 980ti is still a better choice to anyone watching the video
A i5 CPU would be bottlenecking a 980 Ti.
Wingman1977 Nope.
Wingman1977 nope
Wingman1977 overclocking the 4690k is ez and it already perform s really well at stock
Ive built this build and everything was fine at first. But now my PC randomly restarts. First it was only when opening heavy duty games but now it restarts pretty much randomly. Can anyone help? Ive only built this like a month ago.
aren't the fans on the rad meant to be on the other side???
Sorry, I'm new.
Im pretty new to building computers, The case more or less doesnt matter does it or will some cases not have the correct holders for certain components?
***** makes sense, cheers for the info
i built this a bit ago and my cpu is running 100°c for some reason what do i do?
Did you have to use any additional cables or did the parts come with all of the cables required?
ian H All cables came with the parts. You'll even have some leftovers.
I got i7 5960x, 2x TITAN X SLI and 32GB ddr4.
Thinking about getting a dual XEON pc, what dual CPU motherboard to get?
how would you install the fans in this case if you used the stock ryzen cooler and not a radiator? I have a total of 4 fans right now...
I would have just made the western digital 1 terabyte and then used the money saved there to help afford a better cpu. what the point of this high end pc if it doesn't come with a high end processor, which is the most important pc part for a boost in performance

hi I need help on the molex part can you please clearly explain what you did. Also the water cooler how did you connect it from the back, where did it come from
I just ordered all of my hardware. do these components come with all appropriate cables?
+Spencer Wren yup
Can ya go push-pull in this case with that cooler/radiator(size wise)?
do you get all the wires to build the pc?
hi! would a 280mm radiator fit on top? i got the same case
Thanks!
with this case, are static pressure or air flow case fans more optimal? im not using any radiator
will the Asus r9 390 fit in this case?
6:22 - 6:35 is confusing to me. I only see the PWM Hub Sata connector. Not the first connector you describe. Anyone know what he is referring to?
The first SATA power connector connected @6:22 was for the H100i CPU cooler.
i am still using stock cpu cooler for about 4 month high temp that i get is about 60 degree low is around 25 since the first day ...i think i will not change it until i get new cpu
nice Choice xD

You could get a 4 gigabyte r7 370 for less than a gtx 960 as well (It pains me saying this as I'm an nvidia fan, but not fanboy ;p)
Do you guys sell any PC already build ready to go?
Thanks
is the h100i corsair cooler rbg?
Did the Psu come with sleeved cables
is this build good for editing and rendering?

Negative air pressure?
TrisT There's a radiator in the way blocking some of the air throughput.
Jeroen Bollen Didn't think of that, ty.
Could you do a 650 dollar build including a mouse and keyboard into that budget? I would like it to be a AMD build if possible.
Its Darkhawk For gaming?
yes
+Its Darkhawk do you have a build?
Nicholas A. I use a Lenovo y700 gaming laptop.
nice Its Darkhawk
my exact specs. i did nit see this video before. HOW?

fuck this I spent $1400 and I have an fx-8350 and a gtx 760
You bought it right??
Amxri U. Pairing an FX-8350 with a GTX 760 means you should study more about computer builds.
Cristopher De La Cruz what exactly is wrong with that pairing? Please spew your genius for the world.
gattis45 I guess he means that instead of getting the 8350, he could have bought a haswell i5 or spent an extra 30 or so bucks on an unlocked i5. Theres honestly no point in buying an 8350 anymore, especially when its being priced nearly the same as the newer intel chips. Also the gtx 760 is a bit on the lower side if youre actually spending 1400 bucks on a PC. I hope that he meant 1400 for the PC and the peripherals.

RebelWithNoPulse It's a good build but if you plan on upgrading to an i5 4690k you should consider a z97 motherboard if you plan on overclocking, if not then go with the non k version. For games at 1080p its gonna reach 60 fps easily on high settings in most games.
