Dear author, what type of pen(?) did You used, Fountain pen, or with refill tank? I do have fountain pens and I always have to get alot of ink every few milimeters when I write something detailed.
A Jalapeño I don't know about a reputation exactly, but it's the pad that I tend to use for practice with both dip pens and the Pilot Parallel pen, and for the most part, it doesn't seem to bleed much. It's kind of weird, there is sometimes a spot about 3/4 down the page on the left where the paper coating isn't quite right, but in my experience at least, better than most.
The lines are too rugged and not paralleled. There is not enough ink in the pen. The paper is not designed for a smooth ink writing. An artist is showing a lack of fluidity in writing, which in turn makes a writing of one letter too long for comfort. Normally, it helps to have an already written letter example to be displayed as a template for writing. A Gothic calligraphy is also called a Black Letter or a Square Letter because the geometric squares and other forms have to be sharply written and maintain their geometric truthfulness. Perhaps, more practice will give this artist a more assured and comfortable approach that will also improve the smoothness of the strokes. These letters are difficult to write if one is a beginner. For a professional calligrapher they come as an extension of their pen.

Should have stopped at 3:30. The additional fine lines and curls only detracted from the initial strong design and obscured the contrast.
