Most used rulers haha. 😆 Additionally, it's much harder to maintain the same amount of pressure on the pencil compared to the ebb and flow of the cursive strokes, which gives your hand a break, and enables faster writing especially due to connecting letters in single strokes rather than constantly picking up the pencil from the paper and having to find that exact level of pressure each time. So essentially, cursive is an optimized style of writing by hand, and print is the optimized style for computers. On computers, these differences are identified as serif fonts (ex. Times new roman) or script fonts (ex. Scriptina) and sans serif fonts (ex. Arial). I love different types of cursive and handwriting and fonts, so this is a subject I have a lot of fun talking about. you have to write cursive with a blunt pencil otherwise it may break because of the was you have to hold it while making the curves. of course it doesn't have to be as blunt as in the video but i am quite sure he did it like that to make no mistakes. thats why the video is in one take.

In elementary school we’d be tested on our cursive writing skill. Every year I was given many, many practice exercises to do at home. You did an outstanding job! As an aside, it looks like a lovely soft pencil that’s being used.
But the letter A in cursive was not drawn correctly. It’s a very nice adaptation of the letter A. I was taught A is just a larger a in cursive. And I know a few Alan’s and a couple Alex’s who sign their name nothing like that English lettering style shown here

There is also a special calligraphy called pencil calligraphy and it is in fact more beautiful then u can imagine i also knkw how to write pencil calligraphy and it is more relaxing then anythig😄
@@meowmeow8591 he may be using a softer grade but he's still pushing very hard. If I would have given in a project like that in art school, someone would have had a stroke. My professor told me that you should never see the indentation in paper and if you erase it it should be smooth. I'm pretty sure that if he erased a letter, you would still see it a mile away. 😂 With that said, he does write very prettily.

Eu passei por isso e também me tornei professora. Acredito que falta os professores terem paciência e discernimento para explicar as coisas. Ela deveria ter te ensinado sobre saber a hora de usar cada tipo de letra. Isso eu aprendi por conta própria. Quando eu estava insatisfeita com o que eu fazia na sala, eu refazia em casa kkkk. Hoje faço resumos na pressa e em casa uso o tempo necessário para deixar como quero. Existe várias hipóteses disso, mas acredito que deveria ser muito conteúdo escrito para pouco tempo. Sobre o bullying que você passou, nada justifica você passar por isso. Você deve fazer as coisas com capricho e isso infelizmente não foi reforçado. Espero que você volte a ter o gosto em praticar letras desenhadas
Wonderful! My mother was professional. I love when she wrote in gothic. I teach calligraphy to my pupils, also hiragana and katakana beacause I had some children from japanese school. Many thanks from São Paulo, Brazil!
This reminds me of when you sharpen a pencil and it feels awful to write with, but after a half page down it finally dulls down and gives you that _smooth_ feel like how this person has.
Me too, I always rushed to be the first done on assignments in class therefore compromising the quality of my handwriting :( I've been practicing the last 6 months to better my handwriting and it's extremely difficult to break my old style

I love your cursive handwriting and your video reminded me of my elementary school days in the 70s when we used lined paper to practice cursive. I would only get decent grades for it. Not terrible nor exceptional, but acceptable.
It's a dead skillset for the majority of the public, though. A person doesn't need to learn to spell or write or count for their Daddy to pay the bills 😂

Yes the pen you are using is an HB pen (the most common) but there are other classifications with different hardness

So interesting how Japanese calligraphy can also be applied to write the English alphabet. Very beautiful.
Wonderful! My mother was professional. I love when she wrote in gothic. I teach calligraphy to my pupils, also hiragana and katakana beacause I had some children from japanese school. Many thanks from São Paulo, Brazil!

This reminds me of when you sharpen a pencil and it feels awful to write with, but after a half page down it finally dulls down and gives you that _smooth_ feel like how this person has.

Me too, I always rushed to be the first done on assignments in class therefore compromising the quality of my handwriting :( I've been practicing the last 6 months to better my handwriting and it's extremely difficult to break my old style

I like it, to the fact that it's neat and clean, the writer has a good pulse... Also I love the curve end of every letters even though some letters are written in different fonts...
I love your cursive handwriting and your video reminded me of my elementary school days in the 70s when we used lined paper to practice cursive. I would only get decent grades for it. Not terrible nor exceptional, but acceptable.

I learned Cursive back in Elementary school as well, but in the 2000s. I’m only able to draw a Cursive lowercase y with no problems. Lol.

Can't believe this type of writing has gone out of fashion in schools. It's so beautiful.
It's a dead skillset for the majority of the public, though. A person doesn't need to learn to spell or write or count for their Daddy to pay the bills 😂

I don't know about your area but in most of the school's in India we write in cursive.

At first I was like “how does he have different pressures with a pencil like a brush pen does???” And then I noticed his pencil looking like it’s falling apart in his hand and then it made sense and also made me realize how much pressure he puts on the paper

What I learned in school was way more complicated than this… and I’m not 30 yet… what a shame they don’t teach beautiful stuff like that in schools anymore… the art of writing and being patient

In middle School, they were teaching us how to write in cursive, but then they stopped and threw out the cursive writing books, I had to teach myself how to write in cursive, it's not as elagent, but it's readable
